The makeshift outdoor dining area could have been beautiful if the plastic sheeting was opened to the sunset. The tent got very cold later as it lacked any heaters. The service was super slow. Took 5 minutes to see a host. 10-15 minutes to see initial server. Dinner took over 40 minutes to show at table. The Chart House usually provides a top notch dining experience. This was not.

Great dining experience during this pandemic. Limited seating outside under a tent. Staff was amazing.

I was hesitant at first to try the Chart House during covid times. I was quite surprised. We were greeted by a very friendly manager who quickly escorted us to a tent that was set up on the sand next to the actual restaurant. The tables were spaced appropriately which allowed us to feel very comfortable. Our waitress was fantastic and catered to our every need. We ordered the mango crab stack for an appetizer and the fire roasted Baja salmon. It was delicious. Highly recommend.

They sit you in a tent with no heat, no ambiance, the place is freezing and have the temerity to charge outrageous prices. Will not go back even if they should reopen.

The new dining room is a tent on the sand which is nice outside but stark inside, Needs some landscape. We had a gas smell throughout dinner which did not help the feeling there might be an explosion. It was from gas heaters. The lobster bisque was warm not hot, but nasty. Crab cakes were good. steak was cooked right and was good, as was the prime rib. Not exceptional but good. I would go back after the pandemic and to enjoy a dinner and a window seat overlooking the ocean.

We went there nov 11 for my birthday web site said now open for dine in i did not expect to be sitted outside in a tent i had just drove from malibu or i would of left i have eaten at chart house at other locations this was a big disappointment we are from fresno we have dine in did not expect this from Redondo beach

Too cold eating outside under a tent with no heaters. The staff did what they could under the circumstances. I will not repeat that mistake again. It was quite unpleasant freezing while eating.

Excellent outside dining. Loved the ambience and the service. The food and presentation was impressive. Waiter was kind, friendly and welcoming.

First time at this location and my experience was pretty bad. Outside seating (definitely too close to each other) with no heaters was brutal. They also failed to READ the notes that I listed in my reservation that it was a birthday and a candle/cake was requested at the end of the meal. The fact that they were too lazy to look at the notes is pretty disappointing so I didn’t even mention it and just left. I say lazy rather than busy is because the seating was limited to around 7 tables outside. Not going back to this restaurant unless I can find another location that hasn’t yet closed down.

Our first time since Chart House closed due to pandemic. They've done a really lovely job with their outdoor beach setting. Service and food were very good - nice menu selections.

Even though we had a reservation we waited almost an hour to be seated. Hostess had attitude.
Once we got seated, everything felt rushed because we were seated late and they were closing sood. Food felt a little cold. The little tent dining area was loud. I wouldn’t go back until its fully opened for in door dining.

Chart House is usually a great restaurant, but sadly, not so with their attempt to continue to do business with Covid precautions in place. Food was sad at best (we were served grossly over cooked) prime rib, service inattentive, and the ambience was nothing like what we usually come to Chart House for. Hopefully they survive, but I certainly won't be back until they can reopening the dinner room officially.

My husband and I went there for our anniversary dinner and had a great dining experience. We definitely recommend and will be going back again in the future.

Service was really bad. Waited a long time to place our order, long time to get our food and then food was cold (e.g. bake potato unable to eat) and then wait a long time again to get our check.

Seating is outside under a white tent and at the most 10 tables of people. NO excuse for slowness and bad service.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We went with my parents for my birthday. Due to Covid 19, the menu had been altered so there weren't as many choices as usual. We liked the tent with the lights for eating outside, the ambience was nice; but it was a chilly night and there weren't any heat lamps. The waitress had no personality. I will always recommend this place, just be forewarned of the smaller menu, the chill outside and the waitstaff is inconsistent.

Outdoor dinning was set up like a wedding with tent and fold out chairs. No dinning music. Just clatter and chatter. I had the crusted salmon and it was bland. The scallops and shrimp were okay.

Loved being on the beach, a special treat! I have the Pomegranate Martini, yum... And the blackened Mahi with the Shrimp topper. Delicious!

Great food at reasonable prices right on the sand with a view of the ocean! Thank you to Ken for terrific service. I treated my folks to their 70th Wedding Anniversary! They loved every minute of it! I highly recommend the Chart House in Redondo Beach, CA!

Celebrating anniversary

Our food was really good ...probably one of the best out of the many times I’ve been there but I have to say the accommodations were not great. They have an outdoor area set up on the sand and I know they’re doing the best they can but it’s a tent type situation with a huge opening and unfortunately we were seated in front of the opening which was cold and windy. They need to figure out someway to make the opening on the non-ocean side so that the wind is not blasting in on people.

I wish I had known we were in a tent. They did the best they could I guess.

Birthday meal was near 100%

Good consistency delicious. Service a bit slow - server needed help. She was cheerful. Mgr came by. He was pleasant. Celebrated friends birthday. Dinner was pricey. Special occasions for sure.

They are doing a great job with the outdoor dining by the beach. I wish they could keep it. Go now! Bring a wrap but worth it for beach side dining

We went for the “Lobster special dinner” a 3 course menu of Lobster roll, Lobster Bisque, and Lobster in a Pasta Carbonara. To die for! They have a tent on the back of the beach and the weather cooperated and we had a wonderful night. Great food, and good service. Nice to see the staff again. Norm

Ice tea empty and never refilled. Waiter forgot to bring bread to table.
