Hot Chocolate Lava Cake

crisp romaine, shaved parmesan, croutons & our own caesar dressing
The Service was terrible and the Food was mediocre. Shrimp was undercooked, ordered a filet and they served a New York.
Great everything. Excellent filet mignon. Delicious cajun salmon. Super service.
Over all the server didn’t care . We felt abandoned. Looked like He didn’t want to be there . He was slow and didn’t remember our order . He kept coming back to the table asking what we wanted again . Poor attitude through out the entire restaurant . However the food runner was the nicest. Sucks when your celebrating a birthday with your friends and the service is poor . Wouldn’t go back .
Salmon and sirloin entrees were delicious; the sirloin was rarer than requested. Great service. The lava cake was fantastic! Definitely will return.
I was disappointed that the restaurant didn’t enforce mask wearing in the foyer. At least three people ignored the mask requirement.
I live in Hermosa and eat at this Chart House several times a year. The service was great but the ambiance and food were notably subpar. The Coconut shrimp a lot was smaller than usual. My Mahi was slightly overcooked and dry. I eat both regularly so I noticed the difference. Also, they didn't have lights on the ocean so as soon as it got dark you couldn't see outside. What's the point of dining on the beach if it's pitch black and you can see the sand or the ocean? This is not my typical experience at the Chart House so hopefully, this is a one-off experience but something to watch going forward.
Shrimp cocktail came with an impressive presentation, Chimichurri Steak + Shrimp was very tasty, Mixed Seafood Grill could use a little more flavor. Our waiter, Miles was very attentive and polite.
The food was tasty and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Plenty of parking close by. The was attentive. We were greeted at the front counter by two friendly hosts
I was there celebrating my daughter’s birthday. We went to happy hour before having dinner. The food and service was excellent. Got to see the sunset and the view was amazing.
Good Service and Good Food a bit pricy. Bill was almost $200.for 2 people. Only one coctail.
I have been to the chart house many times and last night was the worst experience I have ever had with the service to a point that I don’t want to return there anymore.
The server was rude, he was ignoring me. I was ordering drinks and I didn’t finish and he walked away, until I said I am not done, so he came back. No suggesting was offered, I couldn’t get the asparagus removed from the see food pie, and had to order another plate on the spot because he kept walking away, I did not read full plate I ordered within a second and it had shrimp rapped with bacon and I am allergic to bacon, when the plate came, I told the server that I cannot eat it and he just walked away without evening asking. So I removed the shrimp into another plate and used the other fork to eat my remaining food…….. when my husband and I were done with eating he came to ask me if I want coconut shrimp instead!!!!!!!
My husband could not get any hot sauce for his dish ….. the whole experience was very horrible.
I wanted to celebrate my husband birthday over a desert, but we just end up leaving and got a cake from a grocery store.
This in not even to mention that I am pregnant and would have appreciated more attention…….
It’s very deceiving for a restaurent that I have always had good experiences with and I even have their membership card, it will be my last visit there for sure
Great time Great food
quality of food, service and ambience.
excellent location with outstanding panoramic view.
Can't beat the location and food/service were very good.
Parking was easy on a Tuesday, but can be difficult on weekends.
Wish they had better quality of wines by the glass.
Great view, right on each. Menu is very varied, something for everyone. One of few places Mud pie desert is available.
Excellent service and food as usual.
The food for the price was great, excellent value... I do not drink (really) but my friend ordered a pomegranate mojito ..I thought she was complaining for nothing, but not even I could taste the alcohol in that drink. I was finished with my appetizer and salad, they brought the entrees and sides which finally allowed me to ask for some more water and tea, although both server and busers passed our table several times...
Nice for birthday dinner.
Waiter was rude. Food very ok.
Ambiance is the ONLY reason to eat here. Just can’t beat the view!
Everything was great as usual!
I was celebrating my 21st wedding anniversary. Seated timely in a window view location that I requested. Food was amazing and my husband and I had a wonderful time.
Great food and service
It was yummy. View was great. Food was good. Waiter came around kind of a lot. But all was great baby!
Definitely glad I chose this place to end my birthday weekend. Our waiter Jamie was amazing. Definitely plan on coming back soon!
Glad they did not send the dishwasher to serve our food this time. The waitress was very nice and polite, but I wonder why she did not check with us to ask if the food tasted good. Usually, after 5 minutes of the food being served, fine restaurants would ask. The other guests spoke and laughed so loudly. One sounded like he had a hearing problem at age 30, or sounded like he was watching and cheering in a sports event. Maybe the tables are too close to one another when the restaurant wasn’t even packed on a Sunday. Perhaps consider removing some tables on days that are not so busy? We went there for crab cakes. Why don’t you have them anymore? Parking is more expensive than a dessert.
This used to be somewhat upscale, quiet, and delicious. Now it is your typical beachside restaurant where anyone can drop in, loud, with overpriced, unremarkable entrees. Service was totally fine, but overall the Chart House has gone down the tubes, which is a shame because it is in a prime location. Had a reservation for anniversary and got seated in the back next to an obnoxious table when the window seats for two were open. Unfortunately that’ll be the last time we go back.
Anastasia was our Waitress, very professional and courteous. Explained the menu in detail, loved it.
Quality of Food was outstanding. It was our Anniversary and your staff made it Specially.
Food was mediocre. Everything else was as expected
It’s hard to write this review… our party of 9 got a nice table and very patient and lovely server. I’m not sure if it’s covid related but it was just all over the place. Again our server was lovely but everything was either tasteless, orders incorrect, steaks served to the chicken RAW (not rare) and everything took sooooo long.
We’ve always had family dinners at the Chart House but things are definitely off. I’m thinking maybe they are short staffed etc but it was actually sort of a stressful night. We’ll give then another try down the road and hope for a better experience
We loved the view and every dish we ordered was delicious. I'm currently pregnant and also appreciated their "Zero Proof" drink sectional and the faux-hito I was able to have that was really tasty.
I've been going to the chart house since 1969. Small changes over the years, but it is still a special place. Good solid menu offerings. Nothing foo-foo. You can't beat the view. Sorry to see the demise of the salad bar, hopefully it is temporary.
The service is top notch. Timing of the courses was right on. The Prime Rib is exceptional. And the bar makes a perfect drink.
I DO HAVE A SUGGESTION ..... A DRESS CODE! I know the Chart House is a warm and welcoming neighborhood establishment. But maybe no tank tops.
Trying to have a romantic sunset view dinner with the guy next to you wearing a tank top a bathing suit and flip flops and a Dodger hat just doesn't make it. Sorry but I think you should at least have to wear a collared shirt.
Service was great but the main courses were lacking. Meals were either under or over cooked. Flavor was flat and the plating was uninspired. Appetizer, salad and desert were great.
Our Waiter was the best ever !!
He’s a keeper !! Thanks!!🙌🏽🙌🏽👏🏼
Great view, wonderful atmosphere, and our server Jared was AWESOME!
Great experience all the way around. The service, food and atmosphere were terrific. It was our 27th anniversary and the team gave us a wonderful table. One of our favorite places!
Miss the salad bar!
The ambience and view are unbeatable which always helps make any meal better. The Prime Rib and Ahi were cooked to perfection and delicious. We had a lovely evening.
37th wedding anniversary
great food, fantastic ambiance, service was excellent. great overall value
Returned steak twice Second time was charred on the outside when trying to get a medium rare
Since their opening we have enjoyed the Chart House and our table with Goody . This time the music was very loud. We had out-of-state guests and was difficult to converse with them over the loud speakers blasting. They staff said often had complaints about loud music speakers but said management would not turn the volume down. . For the cost we spent at the up-scale dining I can go the Kincaids on the pier or other fine dining.
