Our two, year-round, semi-private banquet spaces at can accommodate up to 150 people, and are perfect for everything from small corporate functions to large wedding receptions. Both our spaces offer spectacular views of the Portland skyline. No detail will be forgotten at the Chart House PortlandView Private Dining Details
Brought my husband and mother-in-law here for a birthday lunch. The view is spectacular, overlooking the river, Eastern Portland and Mount Hood. Gluten free options were available on a special menu. Loved the salmon!
Great cocktail and wine selection. Shared two appetizers of soups and mushroom bruschetta which were excellent. We both had a Prime Rib which was prepared perfect. Service was great all around. We will return in the future and would refer friends. Would have a great view of the river and into downtown but it was snowing hard and visibility was low that evening, however it is a great location.
Soup was cold, entre was cold, all in all it was just ok. Not a good value for the money.
Fine dining at its best. Valet was nice and the view is amazing!
Delicious food, attentive service, & a terrific view made for a most enjoyable dinner at Chart House. The Caesar salad, clam chowder, and grilled salmon were excellent. The waiter visited our table numerous times to refill beverage glasses and make sure that everyone was satisfied. The city and river view simply added to the evening's enjoyment.
Excellent food and service celebrating a family members birthday.
We had a leisurely, enjoyable birthday lunch. Everything was excellent. The only downside was that the skies were overcast, something we probably shouldn’t hold against the restaurant.
We celebrated our anniversary, which I noted in our reservation. When we were seated, Beth introduced herself to us and we noticed that the menus were personalized with a message wishing us a happy anniversary! What a lovely touch! We asked Beth to share a few popular dishes and she said they had the best calamari. Ok, every restaurant says they have the best calamari! Beth did not disappoint - it was the BEST calamari! Everything was perfect! The food, the view and the service! It was a great dining experience; we will be back!
Great place with a view and both meals were fabulous !!
Best birthday dinner ever! Thanks for a lovely evening!
My waitress was awesome and the food was great.
Wonderful service, food, atmosphere. Our fav
In short: A great place to get inspired appetizers, moderately exotic fish, or a damn good prime rib.
Ambiance: The place, even during Valentines day, is busy and loud. Not going to be that quiet, super romantic feeling. But that's fine for us because we are loud people and the view was still superb. The only thing that had me worried was the guy 2 feet behind me setting drinks on fire. Not sure what that was about.
Service: The service was really good. They are pleasant, helpful, but not pushy. They did forget silverware, twice. But it wasn't that big a deal and overall the value was there.
Food: The food was well prepared, juicy, and fresh. The avacado mango stack was stacked with crab and so tasty on those sesame crackers they bring out. It also is worth it to save it for whatever fish you ordered. I went for the Cajun swordfish. I would have added more spice, but I'm still pretty young. You dont want your older crowd with IBS downing hot cajun with only one bathroom within walking distance! Especially with that amazing butter bleu cheese sauce on top!
The prime rib was probably the favorite though. Cooked to order, juicy, and still warm. It didnt sit too long and get cold. and that horseradish sauce is the best. I was hoping for Asparagus to go with that since its in season and is always good with beef, but they opted for the basic mashed potatoes as the side.
Lastly is that dessert. That lava cake is always hot, bursting with hot ganache, and worth the wait.
Overall its definitely worth it. Might be little things that arent perfect, but even Ringside or Ruth chris has their issues. This place has great food, view, and staff.
Wanted plain salads which they don't offer. Extra pay for vegetable and baked potato? Menu on line isn't the same at the restaurant.
Extremely expensive but food is average. You are paying for the view and the ambiance of the restaurant. Still a great place to go every once in a while.
I prefer Portland City Grill if I'm going to spend the money for steak
We were a group of 16, and were given a pair of adjacent tables with a nice view and two friendly, helpful, responsive and very capable servers. Most everyone enjoyed their entree, and left happy and appreciative of the event and our treatment.
Not impressed with the level of service we received when visiting the Chart House for Valentine's Day dinner of all nights. We had a reservation made months in advance, and upon arrival we asked for a window seat, which we were told may take a bit longer. This was more than okay and we completely understood, however after waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time, we were seated...not in a window seat. I also had requested a small vase of flowers to go onto the table, and while multiple tables around us did have flowers, ours unfortunately was overlooked. That being said, the food was incredible, and fairly priced. But the hostess staff was unfriendly and not accommodating, and because of this it was really not worth it overall.
food was good but service was really bad. The spoon on the table was very dirty and full of dirts on the back of the spoon (I was going to put it in my soup and feed my 10 months old baby). I wasn't very happy with that and I left 10% tip and the waiter came after us to the parking lot asking why. It was very unprofessional and very awkward. I don't think I am going to go back.
I should have asked to speak to the manager.
Love the new decor! One of my favorites in Portland. Always dependable and such great ambiance. Do I need to mention the view?
We went here for our anniversary. The food was very good and we had a great time. Our server was great and did not pressure us into anything which we really appreciated. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu.
The waiter that served us was very nice, knowledgeable of the wine selections and was very friendly. He made our dining experience very relaxing and pleasant.
The server was professional and friendly and we enjoyed his service and helpfulness in suggesting menu choices. The view is amazing and wonderful to treat out of town guests to our beautiful city and your great menu.
Amazing food/service as always. Wish we could bottle your lobster bisque soup to take home! It's amazing!
Overall great experience!
Haven't been to a Chart House since Waikiki many moons ago. Would a visit to the Portland Chart House, in our new city, match our tasty memories? Answer: Oh, yes. From terrific service with a personal touch -- thank you, Beth -- to food that hit the spot, we ate it all up from start to finish. Well done, it was.
JP, our server, was great! He explained everything and was very attentive. Food was good and arrived quickly. Was a little loud in the dining room for our liking. The bar area was actually quieter and we would have preferred to sit down there. The service downstairs was a little slower, we ordered drinks and apps before being seated and only the water was served.
Don't plan on sitting at the window, even if you show up an hour before your reservations, if you're not part of the Landry Club (rewards program). That said, seems to be a great program, and you get significant credit for joining. Just disappointing that I didn't know that ahead of time.
The views were stunning and the waiter was fantastic as was our food. We enjoyed our dinner very much and everything was great!
THE FOOD WAS GREAT & SO WAS THE SERVICE. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE CHOCOLATE MARTIN. IT WASN'T ON YOUR LIST, BUT THE SERVER SAID YOU KNEW HOW TO MAKE IT. NOT MUCH ALCOHOL..LOTS OF ICE. NOT GOOD FLAVOR.
