Service was excellent (JP), need to rename the calamari because the kim-chee dressing sounded like a dreadful combination but again, our server suggested I order it without and it was very nice. A special birthday card signed by all the staff and an unexpected piece of ice cream pie for dessert put our birthday girl in a very fine mood. The view is one f the best in Portland.
The Chart House is alway a great restaurant to bring out of town guests to. You would find it hard to beat the city and river view, and the drive up via Terwilliger is beautiful.
Usual outstanding service and dinner. I have yet to be disappointed with any aspect of my Chart House experience.
Delicious food, lovely views, excellent and friendly service. Noise level always an issue for aging ears. We have a regular lunch together each month. We always request Totem Room where noise not a problem. We're told the empty Totem Room was not available. 😕
Great food and view
We had a great experience and would recommend the Chart House for almost any occasion. The only negative was the wait between the ordering and delivery of the dessert items.
We’ve been to this Chart House many times and this was our least favorite experience. Our children’s steaks were fine; my spouse’s salmon and my shrimp were just okay — both were oversalted and the salmon was unimpressive in terms of size, flavor or texture. We eat a lot of salmon and know what it means to have a great, flavorful, well-prepared salmon filet.
The food was so good as were our cocktails and dessert. I can't say enough nice things about our waiter . He was gracious and interacted with us all. I wish all wait persons could all take .lessons from him. His names is JP and we would love to have him serve us the next time ego to the Chart House. My husbands baked potato was specialy hot and with all the goodies he loves. We've had them there before and they've been almost cold. So good for them. Thank you to all for a wonderful evening
Chart House never disappoints!! Incredible food , drinks and service!!
Only disappointment was I bring clients here and this time the bar was closed for happy hr.( reserved for someone I guess) ( at 4) we had to drive back into town to have a cocktail before our 5:30 reservation. Other than that it was fantastic!
Multiple visits over the years...on of our favorite go to restaurants. Food and service consistently excellent. Great view of the city at night. Convenient and friendly valet parking. We’ll be back.
Wonderful and knowledgeable waiter. Great wine selection. The food was delicious.
I made this reservation for my parents' anniversary and they could not say enough about how great their experience was. The window seating, the custom menus, and the service was so great. I would definitely recommend gifting a gift card to someone to come to Chart House for a special occasion!
We requested a special table and restaurant was happy to accommodate. It was a lovely dinner!
The front desk ladies were rude and inexperienced- after 20 years of going to chart house I was surprised!
Our server Kevin was terrible!
Food was great! Service was just average. Took forever to order appetizer & drinks.
We celebrated our daughters 21st birthday. They had a special printed menu for her wishing her a happy birthday which was nice. Food was excellent but quite expensive and soup/salad was extra. We were not offered bread refills which would have been nice. Service was efficient though not overly friendly.
WE had invited my 95 year old step mom to lunch for her birthday. They selected a great table location which had a good view but accommodated stowing her walker. Our waiter JP was very attentive. The food was great and reasonably priced compared to other lunch places. Grandma said she had a memorable time
Service is always good. food is delicious and nicely served; and the server was excellent.
Server was amazing
Music was fro the younger crowd but didn’t affect our experience.
Food was delicious!
My server was named Jeremy. And he was nice to begin with but when I mentioned that I didn’t like my cocktail, Because for me it tasted like juice and I couldn’t taste the alcohol, the attitude changed towards me tremendously and afterwards he wasn’t as friendly or smiling afterwards. The food was ok. Nevertheless I tipped him well. But once I got home and opened the box where he packaged my leftovers for me, I only found that the vegetables that came with the rice were missing, there was only rice in there. I was disappointed overall, and won’t be coming back anytime soon or ever, even if I do work for Landry’s corporation. Thank you for reading.
A great birthday lunch! Even though the day was gray and cloudy we still had a great food. The mango and crab appetizer was the best!
Excellent! One of the best fine dining experiences in Portland. Fantastic views, valet parking, remarkable service, incredible food and great wine selection. We love Chart house, go often, good rewards plan through Landry’s and best place to take visitors for a good impression of Oregon and amazing fine dining experience.
It was amazing. Great views. Great service. Outstanding price
Great for my daughter's 21st birthday celebration. They even had a card for her at the table and her menu said happy birthday. Food was great but a bit pricey.
Our waitress was not attentive. Felt more like a meal served at Denny’s sad to say.
Everything was excellent; however I did not have my Landry Card so failed to get credit. Perhaps you can award me now. My number is:11016002234474. Please let me know if this is possible. My bill was: $273.55 = a tip of $51.45 or atotal of $325.00
Outstanding meal and service. Appetizers were innovative, visually spectacular and memorable. My large prime rib wasn’t prepared accurately and somewhat disappointing. The other 4 diners thoroughly enjoyed their varied entrees. The huge dessert, chocolate lava cake. provided a fitting conclusion to a spectacular dining experience.
My Australian dinner companions, frequent worldwide travelers commented that this was their finest restaurant meal anywhere.
It was New Year’s Eve and if was very busy. But when I went to use the restroom it was a mess which really surprised me. Other than that the food and service was great! Our server Max was excellent and very attentive as well as knowledgeable.
Management uninspiring. Food ok. Good still but a little levity would be good.
This was our first visit to Charthouse-Terwilliger.
The food was delicious. The service was beyond great (thank you, Peter!).
Valet service was fast.
No complaints and look forward to the next visit.
Horrible experience, very unorganized, bad service, food not bad but got multiple orders mixed up drinks takes forever and then you find out they have not been prepared ss ordered, we were even begging for silverware and on top of all that everything took forever
The food was good, but this place struggles during holidays. Our server Jason was great, but he was set up for failure and that's a reflection of the general manager. Servers not helping each other out with helping clear tables or even fielding orders, you can tell when it's everyone for themselves. Also whoever was the girl working as hostess at 9PM, she can go home. She's supposed to be the face of the restaurant, greeting patrons, but she was rude and unhelpful at best, could find high schoolers with better attitudes. It's been 6 years since I was here and it will be at least another 6 years before I would consider coming back. There are better places to spend your money and time, truly a "chain" restaurant.
Very busy on NYE, but handled smoothly and a very pleasant evening.
Very crowded and noisy. Extra tables arranged to close together.
Service was fine but not outstanding. The food was less than average. Mahi overcooked as was the filet minion-both dried out.
Chart House is one of the few restaurants that we have selected for special events. The view is incredible and the service is as good as ever! I had the Macadamia crusted Mahi with peanut sauce and it was delicious. Two others had your prime rib, selecting the Callahan 18 oz, one of the prettiest pieces of meat I have seen and tasted. As always we had an outstanding evening!
the price was exorbeidant for the salmon , even MC should not cost that much .
Our server was excellent but the food was only so so. In particular, (my entree) the ahi tuna with wasabi cream was overcooked (asked for rare/seared) and the wasabi cream was insipid. Blah. Disappointing.
