It was a quiet Sunday. We dined in the lower level. The SHRIMP, CRAB, AVOCADO + MANGO STACK was wonderful. The Crab Cake was as good as Tom Douglas' (our fav Seattle restaurant) My Husbands Eggs benedict was PERFECT and he is fussy!!! Our server Max was 10 star!!!!! Samuel at the bar was great. Good wine list also!!!
Everyone we met that night from the valets to our servers were extremely friendly and attentive. The view was excellent as far as we could tell, loads of lights, a return in the daytime I am sure would be spectacular.
My husband and I come here every year with another couple for Christmas and we enjoy the service and the food, and the light show that Portland provides with out a charge
Always a great experience, and great food. Only odd thing is that I can't get out of here because I have to have 50 characters. that should be changed
Thanksgiving dinner. Food was cold and dry. We all ordered the Thanksgiving dinner. I think it was pre-plated. Brought to us before our drinks. Very rushed experience. Expected better especially due to the cost.
Chart House was open Thanksgiving Day, and I made reservations a week in advance. They had traditional Thanksgiving fare on the menu but we didn't order any of it. Instead we had the coconut shrimp, Alaska king crab legs, tuna, sizzling mushrooms and of course the chocolate lava cake. Every dish was cooked to perfection, prepared beautifully and very enjoyable. Even the drinks we ordered--- one was a sangria but it looked like Sprite, and the other was a low end port. We left feeling very, very satisfied and happy with the entire experience, even on what must have been a very busy night for the restaurant. We'll be doing this again every Thanksgiving, as it was a pleasure all around.
Our server, Peter, was lovely--- personable, professional and on his game.
Our server rescued our evening. The front desk was in chaos. The hostesses passed right over our reservation, seating several other parties of our size who had later reservations. No apology was offered, and we were preparing to leave when they suddenly found a table for us. A terrible start to Thanksgiving. BUT, our server, Peter, was outstanding. He was fun, very efficient, worked extremely hard to make every one of his tables feel important. He was excellent in every way. The food, too, was impressive, especially considering the number of people served. Peter deserves a commendation (I am sorry I don't have his last name for you.) The front desk needs a total revision, and a MANAGER in front. Please. We have experienced this before with the front desk at Chart House, and a remedy is needed, as this is otherwise such an excellent restaurant.
Thanksgiving. Lovely view and pretty quiet if sitting downstairs.
We went Thanksgiving day and had traditional turkey. It wasn’t at the quality level we expected for the price. Dry turkey, sliced white meat from a loaf and packaged dressing. If a quality restaurant decides to offer thanksgiving meals, they should make more of an effort. Pies tasted like they were reheated from a frozen box pie. Service was good and certainly the view from this Charthouse was great!
We love the Chart House, but the Thanksgiving dinner was expensive, processed food. Very hot in there, it was very crowded and so loud, we couldn't have a normal conversation. We've eaten out for Thanksgiving at other places, and had a wonderful meal. Stuffing was dry, hardly any gravy, and the turkey had not been carved off a fresh bird. Would not recommend Chart House for this kind of celebration.
Thanksgiving Dinner was most excellent this year! With our new home still under construction, and no extended family obligations, The Chart house in Portland was the perfect fit! The turkey dinner was complete to perfection with mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, creamed spinach, and choice of pumpkin or pecan pie!!! Of course, two of us took advantage of the full menu to devour the most delicious prime rib dinner and last but not least broiled wild Pacific salmon! Thank-you Chart house for a delicious meal to celebrate another memorable year in the greater Portland area!!
The view was awesome. Food was good but there was no gravy making Turkey and stuffing dry. Cassandra, our waitress, did a great job considering how busy she was.
As always we were impressed by the quality of chart house. Service is excellent and although the food was exceptional , dessert was lacking a bit. I attribute it to the fact that we ordered the pumpkin pie on thanksgiving which was likely prepared en masse. We ordered prime rib off the menu, skipped the turkey dinner special that most customers ordered. Prime rib was beyond amazing. View was heavenly
Basic ingredients but well prepared. Several families allowed children to run around their tables. Service was of a high quality.
Great food and service as usual. I’m a little confused at the rock music playing as background music in a nice place like this. It’s not even soft rock it’s like metal and regular rock. I’m all for it but how about something relaxing when your paying $300 on dinner. I wore out Van Halen in the 80s.
Mom’s Birthday celebration was wonderful!
Not good clerks
Not good food, seafood is not fresh
Delicious meal with outstanding service! Valet service helps a lot too!
Had a great time as usual. One of our favorite places!
This place never disappoints. The food was fantastic and the lave cake is a must!
Always good. We just have to adjust to noise in almost any restaurant setting.
GREAT SERVICE!! Enjoyed our lunch but felt the prices were a little high and the food was good, not great.
This was just a regular dinner date with my wife. Service was good and the food was excellent. This is one of our favorite places for special occasions and we recommend it.
We had a great experience overall! Food and service were both very good. We were seated close to the kitchen so it was a little noisy but overall it didn’t diminish from our good experience.
This was my first time to the Chart House. It was a birthday celebration, which is definitely an appropriate time to visit. (It's rather spendy). But, the service was really, really great. Cocktails, wine (actually, the wine selection was good and not overpriced.) The Chart House has great prime rib; I can attest to that.
It was my wife and I’s 12th wedding anniversary. It was very nice to have the menu's with a note from the staff on them. The food was great also.
The food was good as it has been on my last couple of visits. The noise during lunch was minimal so was good for a client meeting.
Holly was great!!
Food was delicious and prompt, view is outstanding, and service was on point. One of the best restaurant-prepared strip steaks I’ve had!
Thanks for always being consistent. We love coming to eat there.
We celebrated my husbands 65th birthday at The Chart House. It was a great evening for all of us-the greeting, the service, the ambiance, the food, the valets and the nice birthday card and treat from the staff! Very special night!
Great dinner Beautiful views of downtown Portland. Loved the special touches for our anniverary
Great food, service & ambience - had a team meeting of 12 and setting was excellent
This was our anniversary dinner and Chart House couldn’t have been nicer. We had great service and a great dinner all while enjoying the beautiful view.
Chart house is one of my all time favorite restaurants. Prime rib is the best I’ve ever had!
Server was very knowledgeable on wines and food. Not many people in restaurant, drinks were slow to arrive Early dinner is nice to avoid the crowds but they maybe spending to much time preparing for later. The restaurant is still one of our favorite places, views are amazing.
The food was just outstanding, their calamari is to die for. There was not a crum left on the plate. :) Service was wonderful, the servers were very attentive and provided a very special night for us. Will definitely be going back again and again.
Our server was exceptional this visit. She was available and prompt yet unobtrusive. She gracefully handled my guests particulars and special requests. Fortunately we were seated in the annex room and there was only 1 or 2 other tables but even so we could hear the noise from the main dining room, which would have been intolerable had we been seated there. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. However, considering all of these positives, the menu is still overpriced for Portland.
Excellent service. Prompt, professional and made good suggestions. Food was excellent including asparagus which was well prepared. The wine suggestion was excellent.
