Would recommend since food was some of the best I've had everything was perfect except for our waiter, he seems to be super friendly with other parties but seemed very uninterested in waiting us had zero we ended up having to pour our own champagne and presentation of drinks could use a lot of work.
Great place but bad parking situation for clean, new cars.
Beth, our server, was great as she always is! She makes the experience even better with her personal service.
Great meal with the family at Chart House. One of the best restaurants views in Portland.
The Chart House sits on a hill with a beautiful view looking due east to SE Portland. On a clear day you can see Majestic Mt. HOOD. Food has a seafood and prime rib specialty. A bit high priced for my budget but with saving for our anniversary. Parking is tight but share rides are close by. Valet services are convinient.
This restaurant is located at the top of a hill overlooking the river and downtown Portland. It is about a 10 minute drive from downtown and there is free valet parking. We were seated at our reservation time in a window overlooking the remarkable view. We ordered the lobster bisque (had chunks of lobster in it), the grilled halibut and shrimp and scallop meals. The Shrimp and Scallops were the star of the show. Very well prepared. The bread and drinks were excellent as well. If you haven't been here, you should give it a try for a special occasion. Just beautiful.
One of my shrimp tasted old, I am not as old as that guy. We love our state an didn't let rain and low clouds impair the view. We see Hood nearly everyday, it gave the city a natural, clean, and mysterious look.
It was a quiet Tuesday night. We got a table with nice view, but not by the window as requested, due to fire code per their staff. The server was friendly but I realized he didn't ask what we wanted for sides when we all ended with mashed potatoes for all 5 filet mignon. I saw one table with a birthday card from CH while we had 3 birthdays and got nothing, not even a happy birthday from any CH staff.
I have been here a few times but felt the restaurant felt way short this time. A huge disappointment giving the facts that I raved about it with my family.
Everything about our dinner experience was exemplary. Our waiter JP was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. The food was on point! We had the chopped salad, filet, prime rib, crab cakes and loaded baked potatoes; all to perfection. The view, staff, food and service all excellent! Mahalo!!
Normally server Jaramy is a good server, but lunch in his section this time was not up to par. It took nearly 45 min for us to get our hamburgers, but when he delivered them both orders were wrong; he admitted it was his error. He was soooo busy talking about fishing with guests at two different tables that he didn’t seem to check on our meals. In spite of his lack of service we did enjoy ourselves.
Ambience was spectacular. View was to die for. Any Portlander or visitor to Portland should have Chart House as must to go to place.
As usual, the food was wonderful, however, the service was not good. We hardly ever saw our waiter.
The restaurant is incredible! Service, food and the view is excellent. We enjoy going and will return.
Excellent table, service and food. A great spot to celebrate Mother's Day.
Over the last decade my wife and I have dined at the Chart House several times a year. We are Landry members. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. We usually celebrate special events, birthdays, anniversary, Mothers day and Christmas eve. Occasionally we do happy hour. We have never been disappointed. The ambiance is like no other in Portland. The waiters are experienced professionals. The food is beautifully presented and always prepared to our satisfaction.
We had a very nice meal. The spinach salad was very good with the warm dressing. We tried the Salmon and Swordfish. Both were excellent. Waitress was terrific. It was busy as it was Mother's Day. View is a lot of fun, takes some time to view all the different areas from the hillside. Will be going again.
Excellent food service and view
Great place to celebrate Mother’s Day! The view is spectacular from every table on the upper floor. Food and service were top notch.
Chart house made our family event really amazing! They accommodated an extra person at our table and my mom in a wheelchair. The server was so friendly and helpful - and the food and view were terrific!
3 of the 5 brunch's were ice cold, and didn't taste pleasant at all. We like the Chart House and have chalked it up to, breakfast is not their thing. keep it a steak/seafood house.
Amazing as always. Delectable food...great service...friendly and fun service.
Mother’s Day was perfect. Great window table view, service & Bon Appetit food. Thank you for making it an extra special day!
We have been to the Chart House 2 times now for brunch. Both times were fantastic! The staff is so nice, the waiters are attentive, and the view is absolutely beautiful! We can’t wait to go there again.
Good place to take people to see the view.
Food is good.
Would like to see inside updated a little.
While the epic view seems the draw to this iconic restaurant, the service and the delicious items on the menu are the lasting memory of our recent celebration at the ChartHouse. The service was impeccable, and thoughtful. Our guests, to a person loved their meals, and the gorgeous Pacific Northwest view never disappoints. Will return often!
The bar service was awful. Because of that our entire evening was a bit disappointing.
Beautiful view, delicious food and kind service. Thank you for a wonderful first anniversary dinner!
Quality service but slow. Understaffed for the evening?
We had a lovely view and a lovely meal. We started with the lobster bisque for me, the shrimp cocktail for him. The bisque was delicious, loaded with lobster, and the shrimp was large and fresh. Prime rib with creamed spinach and subbed mushrooms for the potatoes. Perfectly cooked and flavorful meat, sides were delicious, and we brought home enough for a complete second meal. Key lime pie for dessert was good but a little too rich/heavy, and cappuccino was delicious. JP provided perfect service throughout the meal, we were ready to bring him home with us too! We hadn’t been to Chart House in quite some time and were very pleased with everything. We will be back.
Waiter was excellent. Coffee wait time was slow. Each time they said it was brewing fresh pot. I suggest a bigger pot or leave a caraf at the table. Food was excellent.
Very good eating off the Happy Hour menu! Great service as always!! It just doesn’t get much better than the Chart House, anywhere any time!!!!
We took my mother for her 84th birthday and it was perfect! She loved the food and the atmosphere couldn't be beat. Anthony was our server and he was very attentive and friendly. We all had seafood and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The view was incredible. We were lucky that it was a sunny day and you could see the entire city and mountains, but even on a cloudy day it would be lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful setting & amazing food!
Great first time here! The staff was excellent and helped make the celebration of our college graduate a wonderful experience. Had hoped for a window table but still had a great view.
prom. food was good but server was rude
Excellent food. Beautiful city view! We recommend the Swordfish Del Mar. My mom practically licked the plate and couldn't stop talking about it! ;)
Great seat & good service. The deserts were average
Excellent service and food. Waiter Jeremy was spot on with his recommendations on drinks and food!
The food was great as was the service. The only glitch was when I asked for the oyster shells to grind up and put in my compost pile, They got lost.
Food and service was excellent.. cant wait to go back..
