Our server, Jeremy was fantastic! Food was great!
Amazing service, amazing views, amazing food. What more could anyone want! Try the whiskey they serve in an ice sphere which they then break its unique and insta worthy! Also try their dessert
Beautiful restaurant and great food and service! Would recommend to my other friends and family as well.
We have dined many times at the Chart House and have never been disappointed in any aspect of our meal. This time we were. Our server was visibly exhausted from working two jobs in one day, was slow to take our orders or deliver them. She forgot to bring part of the food we ordered. Meanwhile we were both surprised by the baked potatoes served - both were overcooked and inedible. My wife's salmon was not cooked as ordered - blackened - but was instead baked. We expect nothing less than excellence from this fine dining restaurant and we have usually received service and food that surpasses our expectations. But we did not last Friday night.
We really liked our seating and the the beautiful view of the moon; we missed the views of Mt.Hood and Mt.St.Helens probably by 30-40 mts. we tried the sword fish special and salmon ( grilled & sauteed ), coconut shrimp and calamari for appetizer. They were all good.We all sampled each other's dishes. The chocolate lave cake was out of this world.Recommend it.Ambiance was very nice, service was great, except we missed/ forgot the kid in our group's doggie bag of coconut shrimp.
It was a special occasion for me and my fiancee, and it was an outstanding experience. My parents used to take me to the C.H. in Coronado, CA when I was a teenager back in the late '70s. I wanted to treat her to a special dinner since we are currently in a long-distance situation. The view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood with perfect weather was amazing. The waiter was a consummate professional and seemed to be reading my mind as I scanned the menu when he made his recommendations. Free valet parking. I had a swordfish meal with a 13 bean ragout. Both items/parts of the meal were great but I think the ragout would have been better suited for a meat entree. Great place with a great view to top it off.
Incredible view, service, drinks, and food. Will never forget our perfect evening.
Anthony was an excellent server. Food was great and of course the view was spectacular.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent!
1. Too noisy & loud
2. I ordered Salmon with NO seasoning and it had so much salt on it I could not eat it.
3. We order the 'signature' desert, the molten chocolate volcano cake and it was, once again, over cooked so that there was NO gooey chocolate that ran out when we cut into the cake. This is about the 4th or 5th time in a row this has happened to us and I am simply getting tired of having to complain to someone about being let down by this place. When I mentioned the issue about the desert to a manager before we left she simply said 'thanks for letting us know' but did NOTHING in the way of outreach to a regular customer who, once again, was let down.
Probably time to take our business somewhere else.
Great food and views
Celebrated wedding anniversary and they sat us in a nice booth and had our name on the menu. They even gave us a card signed by all the staff. Very nice touches! The service was excellent and the menu choices made it hard to decide on what to order. Great place to go for a celebration or to just enjoy the view.
I should not have eaten the cheesecake, ( it was just enough to put me over the amount o food that I should have taken).( But it was worth the discomfort.)
Lovely view and good meal! The chopped salad with balsamic vinaigrette was delicious, not usually a fan of balsamic vinaigrette but it was really good. The filet was good and perfectly cooked, just a tad too salty. The lava cake was fantastic! Overall, a great experience!
Incredible view, excellent service and food was outstanding as always!
The view Makes this a great place to bring out of town guests. Unfortunately, the food was just mediocre.
We made reservations for dinner for 7 pm. We did not get to our seats till 7.40 pm. Was hoping to speak to the Manager, but did not get to it. Food was average. Prices for dishes are steep. Not too sure the restaurant increased the prices. I used to recall the prices are more moderate than it is now.
Reservations were @ 6:30pm for 7. We were sat immediately. Dinner was not served until 8:00pm.
Way too slow. Reservation was at 6, got seated at 7 and food not served until 815! Didn’t get out of there until 10!
This was a birthday gift for my husband. It was so disappointing. It took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks, which arrived after our appetizer. My husband ordered from the GF menu which he handed to the waitress. His food came with pita bread which is not gluten Free. The waitress said "you didn't tell me" Not the right answer since he ordered from the GF menu. it was switched out. Then the main course was bad. The salmon was overcooked, my husband could not eat it. My paneed chicken was 2/3 breading and dry. The salmon was taken off the bill but this was such a let down.
Everything was the way I set my reservation. We arrived about 15 minutes late and they still accommodated us. The food was spectacular
Great happy hour in the bar. The best views in Portland
We didn’t enjoy sitting downstairs.... we were almost the only people there, so it lacked atmosphere
Excellent location and ambiance. Food was very good with the exception of the creamed spinach which was tasteless. Our server was excellent!
Always one of the best views in Portland! Unfortunately, your menu has shrunk.....
Had a late lunch, but the service was very slow and the restaurant was not too busy.
Also the recommended entry tasted like the rice and vegetables had been sitting for a while.
Will still come back for the view, but please help the chef.
I have eaten in many restaurants around the world. I find Chart House to be reliable in providing good food and service.
Came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was good and service started off good. After waiting for 45 minutes after having our salad and appetizers our main course finally arrived. Guess the kitchen lost our order. The restaurant comped dessert for us but it would have been nice if they comped one of our entrees for having to wait so long for our main meal. The waitress didn’t even realize we had been waiting so long. The restaurant description raves about the view but there is scaffolding all across the windows so the view is partially obstructed which is a bummer. Definitely will not be returning here. #firstimpressions
We arrived at Chart House 1 hour before our dinner reservation. We wanted to have drinks in the bar. We got out of our car and walked thru a group of 8 to 10 men smoking like chimneys right outside the front door. How disgusting. We walked in and said we were 1 hour early for our dinner but wanted to have drinks downstairs. The lady said the downstairs was closed so we would need to wait upstairs.
How stupid is that. Wait one hour for our table ???
We had a wonderful time and so did our guests. Some had not been there before so it was a great treat for them!
Amazing service, food and great view of Portland. Celebrated a 16th birthday and they made the evening very special and memorable. Will definitely be back. Our new favorite spot.
It was wonderful to celebrate our anniversary at the Chart House. The service, view, and cocktails is always a treat. The coconut encrusted shrimp was outstanding, beautifully presented, and so delicious. We will be returning to this grand restaurant.
Birthday dinner! Waiter Peter was fabulous. His recommendations, friendliness, and service was top
notch. Great time, and fabulous service.
Food was really good. We tried lobster tail, crab cake, lava cake, and some other foods and everything was tasty. Our host provided excellent service and always was around and available.
The hostess at the front desk was not very friendly...first time experiencing this for us. I had requested a menu with names and she said that she would do it in ten minutes but she never came to tell us what happened.. She needs more training. We were there on Thursday September 19th at 2 p.m. It wasn't busy! Our wait person did a good job!
This is a favorite spot; the food is typically good and the view is always excellent. This visit, however, service was indifferent: the staff was not particularly interested in attending to six mature ladies - a shame.
The food and drink was excellent. The waitstaff was courteous and went to great lengths to ensure our comfort with the menu and that our food arrived as ordered. The view was phenomenal (construction scaffolding notwithstanding). Would definitely dine again...on a special occasion.
Excellent service and excellent food. We were taking out of state visitors to dinner. We did not get a great table but can’t complain as all the best tables were occupied. View was OK even some distance from windows. Service was very professional. Good attention but not over done. A very enjoyable evening.
