Manu was limited due to reopen after COVID. That was my only disappointment.
Chart House is one of the restaurants we go to for "celebrations" and in this case it was a triple whammy of celebrations, being Father's Day, my birthday and our 35th Anniversary which was the next day, including in the celebration my wife's mother and two of our millennial aged daughters who were thrilled just to get out.
As we've experienced during prior visits over the years, the food was exceptional, our waiter/server (Jaramy) was top notch, throwing in doses of humor throughout our meal and his food and drink selections spot on.
Great food even though they had a limited menu.
Great food, spectacular view.
We love the Chart House for lunch, dinner or special occasions. The view is one of the best in the city. Staff are friendly and wonderful! The food is consistently terrific - highly recommend!
Excellent brunch with a view
Excellent meal and view was gorgeous! Highly recommend.
We have visited a number of times because it is a good location and great view. It was my wife's birthday and I noted that when making the reservation 3 days in advance. This visit was not up to their usual standard. We had reservations but still had to wait about 15 minutes. When we were seated, it was not the main part of the restaurant but a room to the side of the lobby. We were seated at the first table inside the door that had been vacant the entire time we were waiting. The room was cool so we wore a coat the entire time. They are on the Portland Dining Month that offers 3 courses for $33 but we were not offered that menu. We had already ordered and had our appetizer before I thought to ask about the Dining Month menu. We were told that the servers had been instructed not to offer it unless asked. The meal was very good. To finish I ordered Irish Coffee. I have had a number of these and they were always topped with whip cream which is standard. No whip cream. It had not been offered and I was told I had to ask for it. Landry's have a number of brands and I am afraid that their quality is declining. They seem to be cutting corners and eliminating the little things that make a celebration dinner special. We also have visited McCormick & Schmick's a number of times and seems to be suffering the same problems. May just take all of their restaurants off our list.
Lovely place food was amazing service was just ehhh
Had a great server, Peter. He gave us use the right amount of attention!
Great ambiance, but service was very slow, once the food arrives it was excellent.
Great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere! Highly recommend this place for dinner, appetizers, or a dessert. Ambiance was wonderful!
Great meal and we love the atmosphere and the view is always spectacular. We enjoyed the special menu wihich included marionberry creme brulee for dessert Portions were just right for us.
Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. The presentation of the entree was very nice and everything tasted delicious. I got a cocktail (roseloma) that was just okay (hubby makes a much better cocktail at home). Overall great restaurant and would definitely recommend and visit again.
The service was poor and the food came to us so slowly it wasn’t hot- a disappointment
The view, cocktails and appetizers were amazing and set expectations for the rest of the evening. My wife asked about gluten free options and was given a GF menu, so when we asked for the ceasar salad and it came with croutons it was disappointing and then when the server didn't offer to correct/fix the error, the evening began to sour. Entrees came out, the asparagus came out with bread crumbs. Had to send them back. My filet was dry and flavorless. Her lobster tail was not firm, kind of a slimy. Certainly not a texture you normally associate with lobster. My wife wouldn't eat it and the server didn't even ask if there was something wrong - the whole tail was in a pile on the plate. Maybe we should have been more vocal about needing to be GF, but when one asks for GF menu, shouldn't that be the default setting for everything coming to the table? The evening started with high hopes, but ended with a fizzle.
I wish I could give our waiter JP more than 5 stars. What a professional! We were a group of friends celebrating a 2nd wedding and had traveled from NY and SF to be here in Portland. Expectations were high and all were met. I appreciated the interesting drink menu and diverse food choices. We were not pushed to hurry although it was obvious when we left, there were few guests, if any, left. Thank you for an excellent time!
It was my husband's birthday and wanted a special experience and I'm glad I chose the Chart House. It is such a great location and you don't have to go downtown. His birthday coincides with March Dining Month so we had that menu. We also added an additional starter, drinks and the Lava Cake for dessert. The March dining menu was very good. PJ the waiter was very attentive. I indicated we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation on Open Table so we had personalized menus and a b-day card. Very sweet touches. It was a sunny evening and the view was amazing. If you are in the main dining room you will have a view even if you are not seated next to the window and I did not request a window seat. Thank you Chart House.
Outstanding service. We were there to celebrate my son's 13th birthday and the waiter did a great job of making it special for him. As usual, the food was excellent too.
A very nice evening out. Table was ready ahead of schedule and the service staff was prompt and pleasant. The views and ambience are nice. The food was delicious and the price was not terrible considering the nature of this restaurant.
Amazing view, great service and food. I ate here for March dining month and was very impressed. I would highly recommend The Chart House for a nice upscale experience.
Tables are to close together and you hear other people talk and you need to speak louder
Our reservation was booked, but we had waited an additional 25 minutes for our table. We had gotten to our seats and immediately ordered due to looking at the menu online. The server was nice but took his time to deliver food/dessert/check. Wasn’t satisfied with portion size, however, it was cooked nicely.
Amazing Portland dining month menu
Beautiful views and attentive service.
What a lovely venue, with fabulous view of the Willamette Valley. We've enjoyed the Chart House in many of its locations. Here it's a little bit more "special." We expected the food to be good, but on this evening, it "outperformed." Our waiter was enthusiastically happy, which rubbed off on us. It's a "go back" place whenever we visit Portland next.
Overall great meal liked the appetizers a bit more than main meal. Service was outstanding never felt rushed but not too slow either. .
service and food great, noise level way overboard, could not hear to have a conversation
We had the Portland Dining $39 special and it was very good. We got there just before the rush and had a window seat which is a big reason to go.
I had the Alaska King Crab legs. They were superb and well worth the price! Won’t be the last time I order those! My husband had a delicious filet. A perfect date night. Thanks
The Chart House Special, prime rib plus lobster tail, brought us in to celebrate. The superior service, splendid vista, and free valet parking provided extra inducement for booking our reservation. We enjoyed an exceptional dinner and were treated with extra care throughout our evening. Thank you Chart House chefs and staff for a memorable dinner! Hope to see you soon again!

Fabulous view, Wonderful service, Great menu, Yummy food.
A beautiful place to have a meal if the day is clear. The views of Mount Hood and Saint Helens and looking over West Portland makes a meal. The food was very good service was pretty good. Overall, I would recommend.
Three of my guests were at Chart house for the first time. They were very impressed with the menu and their selections. The service was good but we had difficulty getting attention of a waiter to obtain extra silverware. Otherwise the service was very good. Food more than ample and delicious. Thank you for a memorable luncheon.
The truck house was a great way to celebrate a let my birthday. Everything was great, the ambiance, the service, and especially the food. Two thumbs up!
We were seated about ten minutes after our reservation time even though there were open tables as the restaurant had just opened. Drinks were slow to arrive, weak and overpriced. Restroom upstairs had ceiling water damage and a toilet seat that looked like it had been a chew toy for a bear. The food was good, but Kyle, our waiter seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. The strangest occurrence was that I parked my own car and locked it, then valet asked for my keys. I looked out the window and the valet had opened my drivers door and left it open. Strange. Nice view, but I won’t be hurrying back.
I didn't mind the price of the food. However what bothers me is that I asked for a seat with a good view, but it was nowhere near a window. The food was bland and tasted dry. The steak was cold. The waiter was rude and and kept being irritated with us. The list goes on, I was so disappointed. I could've eaten at so many other placss and gotten a better return at the price I paid. Never coming here again.
So noisy. We made our reservation says beforehand and asked for a window table when we arrived (we were early) - were told there weren't any ready so we were seated and then tables opened up. Took 20mins to get our first glass of water. Food was decent but nothing to brag on.
Love this place! One of my favorite to come for happy hour with friends or that special dinner. The view, the food and drinks are great!
Wonderful food, view and restaurant, not a great server.
