Chart House Restaurant - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
So disappointing and very sad that this restaurant is not what it used to be. We used to love coming here. The restaurant is still very pretty, but the lack of customer service, food and feeling you don't matter is disturbing. Suffice to say, we will not be returning. The host was very rude in visiting all tables but ours. Not very professional.
I requested a table when making reservations. When get there to be seated, I asked the Lady for the table I requested. Her reply was just because you ask for a table doesn’t mean you will get it☹️Not very nice. After that our evening was shot. Food just okay. Service just okay. We use to dine there a lot . Not the same,
All we can say is that it was amazing!! Our food was wonderful and can't say enough about it. We went for Valentines night dinner just my husband and I and our table was amazing at the window in front of the USS New Jersey across the river and was lit up in red lights for Valentines Day, so Romantic. My husband had Filet, cooked perfectly and I had the Lobster, cooked perfectly, and our sides with our dishes were wonderful. We had a Caesar salad which was so so good, one of the best we ever had. Our waitress Carol was so wonderful and attentive to us and all our needs and helped us with everything, she was very good and we want her again when we go back. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant for anytime but especially for special occasions as you will love it there and they are right, the view is just beautiful, can't wait to go again!!! Thank you Chart House for a wonderful Valentines Day that we will not forget!!
Unfortunately this last visit to your location was terrible and my last visit. I waited an hour after ordering my meal to have the manager tell me to order something else. It took 45 mins to get my salad so a total of 2 hours to finally get my meal that was ok. The manager was kind of rude and was not willing to comp the meal. I don’t feel that he wanted to talk to me at all. The communication was non existent, the restaurant was not busy so I was very confused on what was happening with our food.
Our niece was in from Hawaii for a conference and we chose to take her to the Chart House as it is convenient from downtown, and has complimentary valet parking. It has been some time since we visited the Chart House so this was a treat to eat at what we always believed to be a top notch restaurant, and we were not disappointed.
Our server, Jason, was very personable and made our evening a delight. In fact, the entire staff made our evening pleasurable.
We were very impressed with how the food came out hot, delicious and prepared exactly as we asked. We live in the suburbs and rarely go into town just for dinner. But not anymore! We will definitely go back and not wait as long as we had before.
The food was OK, but nothing special. At that price level, we would expect something a bit better than "OK".
Service was regrettably inattentive. In the bar / lounge, we had to ask for a menu to select an appetizer. At the main meal, our wine glasses and the bottle of wine came reasonable quickly, but the bottle of wine say unopened for a good ten minutes. No reason for that - the restaurant was not busy.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at Chart House. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant's ambiance was mature and romantic. The food was delicious. We both had the prime rib and yukon gold mashed potatoes. Overall great experience! The free valet parking was a plus!
Server was changed, new server never came to the table! We had to ask the manager for water, coffee and desert. Original server asked if the new server ever came to the table...no apologies after we all stated NO.
The salad bar lacked lettuce and was not attended to. We had to ask the cook for lettuce.
Upon leaving the restaurant we noticed a strong cigarette smell on our coats. Apparently the coat area must be used as a smoking area for the employees.
Overall our experience was terrible. We have been meeting our friends at the Chart House in the past. Needless to say, we will be looking for a new restaurant.
I travel for a living and dine out around the world close to 200 times per year. Chart House has been our favorite restaurant for several years as we have been to many across the country. I took my family here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and expected the usual outstanding experience. Dinner started off with one of our favorite appetizers Kim Chee Calamari and it didn’t disappoint as it was very good. It’s when our main entree arrived that things went down hill. My oldest son ordered the Spiced Ahi and he LOVED it. I ordered the Chopped Salad and it was horrible. The salad consisted of mostly iceberg lettuce spines and was drowned in so much balsamic vinaigrette dressing that I couldn’t finish it. But I was looking forward to sharing my wife’s Prime Rib with her. She ordered the Chart House Cut Prime Rib (10 oz) and I talked her into the Callahan Cut (18 oz) so I could share. My youngest son and nephew ordered the Chart House Cut and all three of them ordered it cooked medium. When the three arrived the two Chart House Cut ones were very over cooked and my wife’s Callahan Cut was very under cooked. She asked for it to be cooked a little more and when it returned we started. The piece I chose had almost no flavor so I tried a piece of my sons and his too had almost no flavor. But the piece my wife tried did have flavor and it was HORRIBLE! She had to spit it out as she described the taste like something that was just removed from a dumpster. The server returned and was nice enough to remove my wife’s Prime from our bill. Oh well, at least we have our favorite dessert to look forward to. We have enjoyed their Key Lime pie at many of their properties and it is the best Key Lime pie I’ve had. I also ordered the Chocolate Lava cake for my wife’s birthday and it arrived with a candle on top. It was very good. My oldest son ordered the Creme Brulee sampler and it was fantastic. But my youngest son and I ordered our favorite Key Lime pie and it was freezer burned.
Long time Landry's Club Member. Have eaten at Phila Chart House many times and had great service and meal. This past visit not very good. Atlantic City Location is much better. I am sure I will still go to the Phila location knowing that everyone has a bad night.
