The seafood tower was lousy. Our entrees came out one at a time rather than all together. We were celebrating a graduation. We couldn’t get refills on drinks. It was disappointing.
Ambient noise inside was high but we sat outside and it was very nice. Highly recommend
The problem with the food was that I ordered trout they were out understandable on crowded day no problem. I looked at menu and saw shrimp and pasta. it was about the same price as the trout. The plate and there were only 6 small shrimp about the size of my baby finger or smaller. the pasta was WIDE egg noodles with olive oil. I had to salt and pepper the noddles and ask for cheese to get any taste out. I never put salt and pepper on food. All our other food was great.
we had a lovely Mother's Day dinner at the Chart House. It was a fist for us and we were not disappointed. We drove from Dayton under rainy skies but it was well worth it.
The oysters were not as tasty as I hoped, but they were OK. everything else was super. Tuna rare, cooked perfectly. We will be back in the summer....
Took too longer to have a waitress even come by the table to take drink orders. when she finally did it then took more than 10 minutes to get our drinks. WE felt we should order because we didn't want to lose her forever. We ordered, appetizers delivered and "ok" 4 out of 5 of us had Ceasar Salad. We all felt it was very bland. Dinner came, 1 guest ordered spinach instead of potatoes. The waitress said she would get it and went to a "service table" first and then minutes later walked past us to the kitchen. 10 minutes later she stopped by to see how we were doing on drinks. I said, we're still waiting for my guest's spinach...she said, oh they're a little behind. Again, no quick action going to the kitchen. 5 minutes later a man delivered the spinach. My guests had 3 bites of her prime rib left and I said well its a little late. He could see she clearly didn't eat any of her potatoes. His response, "I'll take it off". I think he was a manager --why wouldn't he have said, yes I'm so sorry, I can see your almost finished with your meal, my apologies, please enjoy this complimentary----then 5 minutes later our waitress returns with another one! I then mentioned to the others that this was disappointing as i wanted it to be special for my mother and siblings and commented my Prime Rib wasn't even hot. My sisterinlaw (who waited for the spinach said hers wasn't hot either), my sister who had "fish" said her's wasn't hot either. So 3 out of our 5 entree's were cold. Very dissatisfied with service, attention to detail etc. I can't recommend and doubt that I would go back. I got the impression no one really cared. Gina Hamilton
We paid extra for the salad bar which was NEVER even close to being fully stocked during the entire 2 hours that we were there. We pointed this out to both our server and to the person who came around, apparently the manager, who didn't introduce himself. He said he would see to it. We were there for another hour after that - Nothing changed. The server looked disheveled at 5:30 p.m. I know they were busy because it was Mother's day - but I suspect that she came to work looking that way and it only got worse. The music was too loud and the restaurant was cold, despite a packed house. We had a reservation but had to wait almost a half hour in the cold, noisy lobby (music too loud) area to be seated. I had just dined at the Chart House in Atlantic City a few days before. We have been good customers, but may not be any longer in Kentucky because of this Extremely disappointing experience.
Chart house is always very good. While our server was exceptional, it took quite a while for food to come out this time. Nonetheless, the food was great and we had a great time.
We had to wait over 15 minutes after our reservation to be seated, but once we were seated, the service was very good. I was impressed that our server from our last visit remembered and greeted us, even though he was not our primary server on this visit. As always, the food was great. This is one of our favorite places for special occasions. They seated us at a window table, and, though it was a gloomy day, we had a great view of the river.
We have eaten here for two years on Mother’s Day and each time was wonderful. Our server Chris was amazing - funny, efficient and attentive. Everyone’s meal was delicious - from the appetizers to the coconut shrimp, swordfish, scallops and shrimp, everything had a lot of flavor. We love eating here!
Great meal, Mackenzie was the best.
it's always great to eat at Chart House. We didn't have to ask and we got a window seat anyway. The food was sensational. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Food was excellent, service was a little sporadic due to Mother's Day weekend crowd.
Good experience. Steak was under seasoned.
We had a wonderful waitress that split our meals, was sharp and courteous. The food was excellent
Food was great service was great staff was friendly and very attentive overall very satisfied.
Service was excellent from every employee that we encountered
Jen and Jeff were outstanding
Great for prom
The food and service was awesome! They gave us a river view table and the view was spectacular! We were celebrating my daughter’s 23rd birthday!
We had a wonderful evening . The staff and Manager were delightful . Mckenzie even came over to suggest having our engagement party there . This place is for sure on the list . Our server was great and warm .
The Chart House is our favorite spot to celebrate an event with a night out.
We had a excellent meal, and Chris (our server) was on top of his game!!!
The evening started rough at the bar waiting to be seated because the bartenders seemed stressed and didn't do a good hiding their frustration or getting our order right. But once seated the wait staff was fantastic. The only thing better then the service was the view. Thanks for a memorable night and we will for sure be back!!
Our reservation was at 730
Food and service were good but felt like the waitress was trying to sell us things, we had drinks, salad bars and split entree but still felt like we were disappointing her lol
Always ask what their special is! We eat at Charter House restaurants across America and have never been disappointed!
The night was great! The food was very good and our table had a river view, all was good!
Chart House seemed to my party to be a fairly average seafood restaurant with a standard middle of the road menu. A few dishes, such as octopus carpaccio. stretched the standard a bit. Generally, though, you'll find essentially the same menu at hundreds of other diners. Food preparation was uneven. Three shrimp, paired with three scallops for $38.50, were slightly overcooked, though not quite to the point of rubbery. A comment about that fact elicited no response from our waiter. A special featuring mahi mahi topped with a pile of crab meat mix and with a crab cake on the side seemed a little odd. Service was okay, though a bit rustic. Ambience was satisfactory except for a salad bar set in the middle of the dining room. Such a truck stop amenity virtually destroyed the fine dining atmosphere that the restaurant otherwise achieved. We may return to Chart House, partly because the views across the river to the Cincinnati skyline are spectacular. However, neither the food nor the service will win our recommendation.
Food and service were excellent; we really enjoyed our meal. As always, thanks for a great experience. We'll be back in a few weeks for Mother's Day.
We had the best table, right on the river which we loved. The food was noticeably worse than our last experience. Pasta was watery, shrimp bland and had no flavor. Would not order it again. Our service, Amy, was perfect. Professional and friendly.
Fantastic! Delicious, service(Chris) a very laid back, no pressure to rush to order. Recommended items to try. Absolutely loved the restaurant and will definitely be back!
The Chart House has improved greatly over the years with a menu variety that appeals me. The food prices are a bit on the high end of other fine dining restaurants, but given the location overhead probably reasonable. Wine prices are on the high side of Cincinnati average, probably not as high as some of our steak houses however, and with a good selection by the glass, a wine drinker can get by w/o breaking the bank. Service was excellent. We will go back.
Food quality should be better for the price. Service by McKenzie was good considering her station was split all over the restaurant. The manager should lose his attitude and be more polite if he wants to do something that effects a customer. He was like a bull in a china shop! Not good.
Whenever in the Cincinnati Area, this is our #1 choice for quality dining! The Black & Blue Swordfish was outstanding. The Pork Ribeye and Smashed Red Potatoes were rated as being to ‘die for’
The Chart House has amazing food and an incredible atmosphere better than my wife and I have experienced in a long while. Our view overlooking the Ohio River was absolutely picturesque and it was superbly accompanied by incredible food and service. Thank you to the Chart House staff for making our terrific evening. We look forward to coming back soon.
The view is nice and our server was friendly. The service was more on the slow side and out of three dishes, one was very dry (pork). My prime rib was very good, as were the mashed potatoes (although the portion size was small and they were kind of dry). Dessert was pretty good. I'm not sure if we will return, given the hit-or-miss results we had with the food.
We ordered an appetizer, which took 15 minutes to get and was served the incorrect item. Returning 15 minutes later with correct item, only to serve our dinner before the appetizer was enjoyed.
We were served a very rare piece of rib roast, when we had requester medium rare. It was tough.
No one ever asked if we need more wine, or how our dinner was.
We had a bad experience and it took 20 minutes for the waiter to give us our check, he returned with the check and had charged us for an item we did not have (the first incorrectly served appetizer) we waited 10 more minutes to the waiter to come to collect our check and give me an opportunity to tell him about the incorrect charge. We finally went to the hostess and told her, and she called the manager. We have been a good customer of the Charthouse and are sad to have had this experience as I doubt we will return..
Our dining experience at Chart House was amazing. The staff were totally attentive to our complete enjoyment. Our waiter was so informative with the menu and helped us to make the perfect dining choices. The food was unbelievably delicious. The atmosphere was elegant and the view of the city was beautiful. When it comes to fine dining Chart House is our choice.
Gracious reception, excellent food, EXCELLENT SERVICE [Thank You, Scott!], the greatest food in the world, no, but really top notch for what it is. Dynamite view, they seated us at a window front table overlooking the river and the Cincinnati skyline, very romantic, but everywhere else in the dining room is just about as good, plus there are outside tables for when the weather permits. Scott suggested the Shrimp Beignets for a starter, really different and flavorful, to accompany the 'generous pours' they served, I'm not sure what we got was what we actually ordered, maybe a 12-year scotch, it tasted better, a lot better than our usual !!! Thank you, CH. We had Caesar Salads, 'The Boss' enjoyed a Cedar Planked Salmon, I and our guest delicious Prime Rib accompanied by terrific potatoes, very nice, I don't usually get excited about potatoes. Strawberry Ice-Cream Sundae and Molten Lava Cake for dessert, nothing out-of-the-ordinary/expected, but perfectly done, and fairly priced. Did I mention the service? It was excellent [EXCELLENT!] Makes such a BIG difference. We can ignore that the caviar on the salad bar was not labeled, but when I saw the chopped hardboiled egg and capers and chopped onions I looked more closely, this to be sampled next visit .. and we WILL return. This was not our first visit, so I was a little non-plussed when the Valets had the signage (or lack thereof) such that i could not tell if it was in operation the night we went, or not. Not a big deal, but compared to EVERYTHING ELSE about the evening, well, ... lack of attention to detail. But overall ONE TERRIFIC EVENING !!!!
A wonderful evening.
