The food and the service was great! Chris was our waiter and he did a outstanding job! I highly recommended this restaurant!
Constantly had to ask for refills. Made note of a gluten allergy and ordered from the GF menu; steak had to be redone because au jus was put on it. Steak came out later than rest of food. Another member of my party ordered no onion garnish; entire meal had to be re-prepared and came out drastically later than the rest of our meals. One steak came out charred and should have never passed through the window. No one attending the salad bar station and many items were low or not refilled. No discount or compensation offered. $400 for dinner for a birthday celebration - and we will likely never return.
One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have had in many years. The fish was overcooked and dry. We tried to use LandrySelect awards ... after 30 minutes of discussion, the manager still did not apply our rewards to our check. Their rewards program is clearly a Scam.
I will not go back to this restaurant.
Wonderful view of the river. Love the salad bar. The shades need to be improved to keep the sun out of diners' eyes. Once the restaurant starts to fill up, the noise level isn't pleasant.
I read a lot of mixed reviews before taking my girlfriend to Chart House for a late Valentine’s Day celebration. There were a lot of mixed reviews between the food and service. However, after our experience, we were very pleased. It is a restaurant in which you can be dressed up or a little more casual, the view is undisputed, and our experience with the service was impeccable. Everyone was very pleasant and respectful. The food was tasty, absolutely. Presentation was also very good. However, I felt like it was a little expensive for what we got. Regardless, we both had an excellent time and are definitely planning on going back for another celebration!
The food was quite decent and our waiter was not bad - but lord the kitchen couldn’t be any slower! I had my 17 month old with me and she is an excellently behaved baby, but asking her to sit still in a high chair for 2 hours is just not reasonable. So if you have a lot of time to kill and don’t mind running up the bar bill waiting on your entree you might be fine - but if you want something timely look elsewhere!
Super small portions, overpriced, we had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes. Food was good, but not amazing. Especially for the price.
I had lobster tails and my date Chilean sea bass
We wouldn’t go back. It was fine, but not what we expected. For the price, I would have expected a lot better service. The view and ambiance was the best part.
We had a great dinner. Our server and the manager were very accommodating. My son ordered a filet but didn’t like any “char” on it so they offered to prepare it in the oven which was perfect! We love the salad bar and the dinner entrees were wonderful. Will definitely be back.
It was very crowded and noisy due to it being Valentines weekend. The food was great and service wonderful!
I love the Chart House! The food is always high quality, and with a beautiful presentation. The river View is lovely. This time the service was a little slow...as it was Valentine's Weekend. The Coconut Shrimp were excellent and the presentation stunning....but $11 for 5 shrimp, is not a "value", despite the size.
Service was very good, but steaks were dry.
Chart House was a Valentine’s Day nightmare. We had confirmed reservations and waited an hour past the reserved time to be seated. Chart House offered nothing for our delay, and made excuses that people were just “sitting.” They refused to admit that they were overbooked and understaffed. At least give your guests who have been waiting well over an hour for their reservations some appetizers to go with the two to three drinks they’ve had while waiting. The bar was so overwhelmed that that the $14 cocktails were pretty bad. Several people “missed” their names being called because it was so overcrowded. And by missed, the hostess occasionally went to the bar area to check for parties. It was chaos. After being seated, the waitress was the only saving grace. The food was mediocre for the price. The view was nice, but certainly not worth the extra cost. I will not be going back.
Just make reservations so you guarantee yourself a seat
We had reservations for 8:15, it was 9:15 before we were seated and 10:15 before we got our entrees. Granted it was Valentine’s Day, so you expect some delay, but not that extreme. For a restaurant that’s been around the block for awhile I would think they’d be more prepared, properly staffed, and not overbooked. The food was average at best. You can definitely find a better steak elsewhere in town. The shrimp and scallops were bland. We did enjoy the Lobster Bisque. We will not be returning.
We had reservations at 8 pm. Got seated at 8:45. Got food at 10:15. No bread service, missing items in our order. Waiter never checked on us. Very disappointing
Valentines Day. The restaurant was packed with patrons. Considering the circumstances, a very enjoyable experience even with the unusual wait. Special commendations to our service team (Mr. Geo, Ms. Olivia, Mr. Dennis, and Mr. Eric, mgr).
From the time we sat down to getting to pay our bill, this meal was over 3 hours long. We ordered meals at the same time as being asked for our drink orders. Appetizers came out in a timely manner but there was maybe an hour and a half or so lag between that and entrees. Once the entrees arrived, one of the steaks was way overcooked (medium well), while another was way undercooked (rare). Both people requested medium rare. The sea bass was the highlight of dinner with delicious flavor. The desserts (lava cake) were undercooked to the point of the “lava” still being a solid piece of chocolate.
At around $100 a head for dinner, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I will say, our waitress did an incredible job trying to hold it all together when the majority of this happening around her wasn’t her fault. So, kudos to her!
Celebrating Valentines Day. We chose the prefixed Valentine option which we found to be a good value with the perfect food options for us. The Chilean Sea Bass I chose was EXCELLENT! My partner choose the filet and lobster combo and was also pleased
The views of the city (Cincinnati) across the river are awesome at night from this restaurant!!
It was an extremely busy night due to the holiday so service was a bit slow but attentive. It was very crowded but not overly noisy
All and all, extremely pleased!
59 birthday for my girl friend. On my birthday I was given a special menu and complimentary dessert. That was only 2months ago. For her birthday, neither. Do it was a little disappointing.
For Valentine’s Day.
Great place. Rather noisy. But overall very good
This is the second year in a row that we’ve come for the Valentine Day special. Definitely well worth it! The food and service were beyond outstanding and we’ve decided to make it a yearly Valentine Day tradition.
Excellent view. Impeccable Service!!!
Joel was our server, he was excellent. Great attention to detail. Several food suggestions to try. Several wine selections to try. The appetizer Shrimp Beignets with chipotle aioli were so good, I'd go back again for just those!! The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles) "The Insider" was an excellent wine suggestion and paired well with our meal.
Excellent food & service
A birthday. The service was slower than usual and the waiter was not as good as most we have had at your restaurant.
The waiter was a nice guy but not as good as we expected.
Our server, Christopher was super. Good guy and very helpful
Great service and food quality.
Amy was very attentive and bubbly.
We also had a beautiful view of the Ohio river.
My wife chose the Chart House for her birthday . We were not disappointed. The food is excellent and the service top notch. Their menu is superb. A great choice for any occasion, or none.
We are regulars at the Chart House and never disappointed!
We had 2 birthdays to celebrate. Everything was very nice. The service was good and the food was delicious!!
Appetizer good, Prime rib not so tender. Both meals plain tasting.
Chelsea was our server and she was awesome. My Prime Rib was perfect and my wife loved her King Salmon. Chocolate Lave Cake was worth the wait.
The lobster bisque and shrimp beignets were so delicious I could’ve made a meal out of them. We ordered red snapper and salmon and both were very good sized portions. Service started out slow but they more than made up for it once we got our drinks. Would definitely go back.
Atmosphere, service and food were all excellent. Highly recommend for a special evening.
My favorite place. The view food and service are always top notch.
I ate here with my family as our last meal together as I had just moved to Cincinnati. This was a wonderful introduction to the area with kind and thoughtful service, great views, and delicious steak.
I scheduled our Sales Department dinner at the Chart House for the location, ease of access (didn't want to drive to downtown Cincinnati) and menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food was excellent.
