We made this reservation while planning a girls vacay for our birthdays including my mother's 70th. While planning our trip I saw some negative reviews. Don't let this stop you from enjoying this experience. We were seated in a quiet window seat with a view of the riverfront away from other customers already there per my note in the reservation. They were very accommodating to my mother having a walker. Scott our waiter and was outstanding and kept my mom company while my daughter and I visited the bar for happy hour. The bar tender was amazing as were the drinks he made. We ordered the seafood tower. We all had prime rib along with other dishes. The food was delicious and the view wonderful as well. Would definitely recommend. We will be back.
84th Birthday Dinner
We have been coming here for many years especially for birthday celebrations. Food continues to be excellent and our server Amy made the day even better. Changes to the menu being made to appeal to the nouveau cuisine popular fads are OK, but don't forget the timeless standards. My 91 year old sister wanted classic Caesar salad and Amy made it for her from the salad bar; similarly my wife wanted the oysters but she loves them Rockefeller style, Amy asked the chef and that was also provided...they were excellent. The level of service exceeded even the lofty expectations of these longtime customers. Please consider bringing back the stuffed flounder and such standby as the halbut topped with lobster; but even if you can't expand the menu further without sacrificing quality, just keep staff like Amy who is willing to go the extra mil.
Service was top notch and food was excellent. I will definitely be back. Plates seem small but I left completely satisfied with flavorful food! Beautiful river view as an added bonus...
Thank you for an excellent evening beyond expectation.
Great service by all. The entire staff are so friendly and accommodating.
Waited 40 minutes for our order Asked for the check for our appetizers so we could leave since dinner order was not ready, manager insisted we wait as the order was on it's way, but we had been told that 10 minutes earlier. Manager did comp drink and appetizer but was not apologetic about the order . Other tables were seated after us were eating dessert before we received our entrees
Celebrating son-in-law’s promotion and their move to a new city.
Chris took excellent care of us, as usual! The kitchen forgot to give me my vegetable orzo but Chris quickly made it right.
The food was delicious! We love
I waited for the waitress to bring bread she didn’t make it back over to the table until a hour later wasn’t consistent with refills on my water but the food was good
Great seafood entrees
Far exceeded expectations
Special birthday celebration made great by good food and great service. Thank you for making my son’s day special.
Probably the worst customer service I've ever had at a "fine dine." Won't be back.
Dirty glasses, stained tablecloths, chairs held together electrical tape, still frozen edamame, boxed crackers, terrible tasting fish and shrimp, bizarre food presentations.
The view and ambiance are the stars. The salad bar is very good also. Appetizers and entrees are tasty - nothing will surprise you, but very safe bet for a group with a wide range of tastes. An ambitious specialty drinks menu with lots of imagination.
Good food and great view! I go for the wonderful molten cake!!
Our waiter Chris was fantastic. We got a window seat but we asked to move to a prime window seat...but the waiter for this area was not scheduled to start for another hour.
Chris said no problem he could take care of us even though we would no longer be in his area.
Amazing experience, as always.
This is our third visit to a different Chart house in three different states.
Experience is always the same...FANTASTIC!!!
Our goal is to visit every Chart House.
Beautiful views. Everything else was disappointing.
We used to really enjoy the Chart House but the last two times we visited were disasters. Our previous visit was wrought with service errors. On our most recent visit the service was better except that our order was not checked for accuracy. My husband ordered a medium steak with a mashed potato instead of their whipped potatoes. He receive a very rare steak with the whipped potatoes - it took several minutes for them to replace the potatoes - but the order clearly wasn't checked before it came out. I ordered a crab cake the resembled a soupy crab dish - inedible - we were so upset we just paid and left.
From the get go, the waiter was frigid if not combative. I get that it’s a hard job in a thankless industry, so I always try to be nice no matter what. I will not use names, for that reason. The cocktails took FOREVER to arrive after we ordered, so they were tasteless and watered down by the time they got there. That’s when the waiter started treating us as an inconvenience, not an opportunity to network and perhaps better his situation. All food arrived much more quickly than my one drink (which, incidentally, was not correct), but the portions didn’t justify the price. Nor did the cocktail’s price justify its existence. The waiter never seemed happy - maybe he had a bad day, maybe he hates his job, maybe he hates me (although I never saw him before in my life so hopefully not). Always curt and exacerbated even just taking the menu from us. I don’t think we were a hard table by any means, so it’s not like we ran him ragged with requests. I really hope Chart House gets its act together, though doubtful we’ll be back.
The Chart House is absolutely delicious. The service is amazing and the view is even better!
Very enjoyable evening. Awesome view of the Ohio river.
The Paneed Chicken is so outstanding, I’ve yet to order a steak or prime rib.
Lobster bisque is the best anywhere and the salad bar is just over the top!
If I were to complain, the bar staff, wow, unfriendly, inattentive, painfully slow! I’ve waited for 20 minutes to spend good money on alcohol. You can stand at the bar for 20-30 minutes and they ignore you and then are snarky when you call out to them to wait on you.
This hasn’t happened just once but every time Ive come into the restaurant. I now just edit for my table and don’t bother going to the bar!
everything was fine. waitress was excellent. food was very good
Literally Everything was Wonderful!!!! A Great Experience!!!
Thee ONLY Negative thing, was One of our Servers, who looked a bit like Rodney Dangerfield, acted as if he was dissatisfied with Everything, and acted “Put Out” with Everything and Everyone that he worked with, and who he was serving...
On The Other Hand.... Our Other Server, named, “Chris,” was Wonderful! He was Hospitable, Personable, Helpful, Efficient, and HE made Our First Experience at The Chart House, A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!
Awful steak, got the ribeye medium rare and it was almost complete rare with zero flavor
Chart House was very courteous to me and my girlfriend on our anniversary. Their menu was absolutely delicious and the view was perfect.
The meal was great and so was my server Mackenzie who was polite, knowledgeable, and had a good sense of humor.
It has been awhile since we last dined at the Chart House and we were looking forward to it. We had always had great food in the past, and thought the steaks were on par with some of the higher-end steak houses in Cincinnati. This visit, however, was comparable to an average steakhouse (Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, etc.), with a higher price. My steak was not properly prepared and tasted a little gamey/old. The other diners in our group thought their food was just "okay." The salad bar was less than appetizing, and I've seen better/fresher looking selections at Kroger. A couple of people in our group planned to have the salad bar as their meal, but changed their minds after seeing it. The service was efficient, but we found it odd to pre-order dessert (chocolate lava cake), whether it took extra time or not. The dessert menu was also very limited. Our waitress was not very friendly and seemed put-off that we did not want to order appetizers. The restaurant appears a little worn, unmaintained and a little dirty... There was zero attention to detail. There was nothing that encouraged our return any time soon. It's a shame because it has one of the best views in Cincinnati.
Understandable for a busy night like father's day! Drinks came out very slow. 6 out of 7 meals came out fine. Ordered filet medium was brought out well done. It was taken back and what was brought back was blue! Mushrooms that i ordered where never brought out.
Good as usual
Excellent service and food. We had a great Father's Day dinner. The grandkids loved it and want to go back.
Our waiter Chris was amazing. And the food was wonderful. The chocolate molten lava cake was the best I've had.
Great happy hour - nice options and good prices. The restaurant was busy as was our server. Got a little "lengthy" towards the end of our meal as we waited for him to return. Super nice guy though.
My sis and I really enjoyed our evening. Food was fab., as always, wine excellent and our server was always on it! Love going there...and the view!
Always good food At the Chart House
A great place for my wife and I to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect!
My Filet mignon was tough more like sirloin I requested medium well got rare. I ordered the mushroom topping didn’t get that. My fiancé ordered his salmon with the avocado on the side they put it on top of his salmon he didn’t get his jasmine rice instead he got broccoli which he didn’t order. On top of it all our waitress barely came to our table for any refills on water etc., and our wine bottle we ordered she didn’t leave at our table.
As usual, The Charthouse never fails us. Our table ordered the trout, crab stuffed shrimp, filet mignon, and the mahi, and everyone's meal looked and tasted fresh and delicious. We had two servers who were very attentive and speedy (Jen and Jeff), and the owner made sure we were satisfied with our meals. Of course, the view is always amazing too.
This may be the most disappointing dining experience we have had ever- we were first timers. First, we arrived early to request a window table, and planned on waiting at the bar. The bar was clearly busy, so we waited patiently. It was clear there was a service bartender, bartender and manager behind the bar. In addition to a full bar, the bartender was also serving the high tops and low tops in the bar area. That would be too much for anyone. After 20 or so minutes of not even being looked at, we were able to get the attention of the service bartender who served us finally. Just an acknowledgement would have gone a long way. There was also a very inappropriate spat between the manager behind the bar and one of the guests, but I won't get into it. As far as the food once we sat at our table: my husband ordered the Parmesan Crusted Trout, which happened to be the special, and I ordered the Mac Nut Mahi. We also ordered the Thai Shrimp appetizer and the Lava Cake dessert. The Thai Shrimp was good, but you got three large shrimp for $11.50. Not worth it. The Mahi was inedible: not cooked all the way, and the macadamia nut topping was finely ground and seemingly uncooked that it was as if I had a mouthful of saltines. The trout was flavorless and very flat. We traded entrees and still couldn't finish them. We talked to our server and she sent the manager. We explained everything. He brought our lava cake out (barely warm despite him bringing it), and told us he comped the dessert and one entree (why bother). With the options available in the Cincinnati area, we will not be back to try again.
