steamed to perfection & served with a baked potato
crisp romaine, shaved parmesan, croutons & our own caesar dressing
Love the molten chocolate lava cake!
Great view of downtown Cincinnati!
Worst prime rib I’ve ever had, served cold and cooked wrong. Told manger and he insulted me & would not do anything ..
We spent $200
Are you kidding me
Really enjoyed our time. Very clean environment, very friendly staff. My only complaint is our waiter wasn’t attentive to our meal being ready by the kitchen. My meal was warm, my wife’s cold and he chose not to serve it (he remade the meal, which delayed her eating by 20min). He also didn't pay attention that we were ready to pay - We waited an add’l 20 min for him to notice.
I understand not all wait staff is created equal, so I’m choosing not to ding the entire experience over one person. If not for this person I would give 5 stars across the board.
As always, we had great service. The Snapper is still my favorite but almost eveything there is amazing. We sat at the window and the view was perfect!
Great food, friendly service and the view of the city was awesome. Very enjoyable celebration of my wife's birthday.
We were celebrating our Anniversary. They seated us at what can only be described as the most romantic table in the house. Windows on two side and off in a corner. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed drinks and the Charred Octopus, both were delicious. The main course was served hot and timely. We both had fish and they were delicious also. We had the mud pie for desert and it was to die for. Overall we had a lovely evening of dining and delicious food.
Wonderful night on their patio
Everything about our experience was great! My family is actually celebrating there this weekend
Great Food and service considering covid restrictions.
When we were seated, it was in the far end of the restaurant, while the entire middle section where they view is the best, sat empty? We love the food, always have great service but never understand why we can never get a better table?
Had a wonderful time and the food and service were excellent. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and my girlfriend absolutely loved the sautéed spinach. We had a beautiful view of the river. The only thing we would ask is to have the windowsill cleaned (it was a little dusty).
This was the worst experience we have ever had and we will not be returning. The table we had was rocking and legs were not even attached and waiter insisted we sit there. We were seated in a traffic pattern, next to kitchen and waiter stand. The stuffed shrimp was overcooked and inedible. The waiter did not fix it either. We smelled burnt food the entire time were were there coming from the kitchen and the air near the ceiling was smokey the entire time. My mom's mushrooms came out totally burned/charred and were inedible. The waiter finally noticed we were not eating them, and did take them off the bill. Nothing we had there was amazing like it used to be - even though the view is lovely, the food is not good. Even the Molten Lava cake was poorly presented and small. We had come to celebrate my mom's birthday and my daughter's delayed (due to COVID) graduation from college. The waiter didn't even acknowledge my daughter - he did wish my mom a happy birthday and gave her some coffee ice cream which was good she said.
Sorry, but your chef and staff are just not what it was like 3-5 years ago. We used to have just wonderful meals but not now.
Sat on the patio overlooking the river, lights on the hills, a charming atmosphere (of course we’ll need to wait for return of warmer weather to enjoy this again). Chris, our waiter was attentive and ensured everything was to our liking, made a couple suggestions for dinner that we followed and we’re glad we did.
I took my husband here for his birthday. The food was delicious, the restaurant is nice, with a beautiful view and great service. I will definitely dine here again.
Anniversary dinner success! This is our favorite place to go for special occasions. Does not disappoint
Went there for sweetest day anwas not disappointed!
Great food and service great location.............
The fish was undercooked, nothing had any real flavor, very bland. Service was sub-par. Beautiful views. Over all not worth $200 dinner for 2
Chart House has always been one of our favorite restaurants. This was our first time out since Covid and we were happy to be there. We tried the tasting menu for $39 and it was delicious with the exception of my entree. I ordered the maui and it was luke warm at best. I would have sent it back but the server didn't come back soon enough to check on our entrees so I ended up eating it. When he returned I did tell him and he apologized but that was it. He left and came back with the bill without asking about dessert and I had even put on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. At that point I was annoyed so we paid and left. So although the food was good it was disappointing and not the celebration I was hoping for. I would always recommend the Chart House but it does depend on the server and how they respond to problems and ours clearly failed. We've been Landry's members for a while and the manager always comes to the table at some point just to say thanks for being a member, but this time no one came.
Love going there, view and service. Enjoyed the seafood special they were offering. Excellent!
It would be nice if the waiters would be informed as to what is on-hand for after-dinner drinks and know what a brandy-snifter is. Otherwise, everything was fabulous!!
Very good fish dishes for all 4 of us. Will definitely return
Food and Service was Awesome! Will be back
First we've been since pandemic. Still great venue and was nicely quiet and low key. Server was engaging when with us. Food was marginal. Definitely substandard from previous visits. Was not worth the cost. Was really disappointed. 🥺
Nice but the food was just okay.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Cincinnati food arena!
Seriously great view, great menu and good service!
Skip the “Big” downtown restaurants with their $50 cocktails and $75 steaks and head over to the Newport riverfront for a great evening out!
The food was delicious as always.
My husband and I have been to the Charthouse several times and we always have a five-star time. However this time was disappointing. Our wait staff was wearing her mask under her noise and kept scratching her face while at our table. She would disappear for long periods of time and forget to refill our drinks. The food was outstanding as always.
Our server Geoff made the evening better. The food was very good and the restaurant itself was great. Will return next time in town.
Went last Saturday evening and from our starters to the entrees and dessert everything was excellent. Our server Dan was also very helpful answering all questions and helping with the wine order. We were unavoidably later and Payton the hostess kept our place and got us a table that we wanted.
We will be back soon.
Mask wearing and social distancing between tables/groups is not being enforced. Will not return until safety measures put in place.
Found a few pieces of shell on the crab cakes. Salad had almost no dressing. Food came out Luke warm.
Lauren, our server was great- at on patio by the River- great spot- the Lobster dishes for Lobster Day were amazing! My wife's Salmon perfectly prepared. The Hot Molten Chocolate dessert fell- tasted great- BUT would have had a better presentation if dessert was re-made and presented in full flight versus flat on the plate!
Everything was perfect, cocktails, wine, food and service. Not our first time here and won't be our last.
Our service was prompt and the seafood and dessert was delicious. My blackened swordfish was excellent. My friend said she was happy with my recommendation and wanted to return soon. Our waiter made some good recommendations for Scotch for my friend as well.
Overall, we had a great experience!
The music was very annoying at times, with James Brown (who we like) screaming, in addition to the volume being a bit loud. Our server who was very nice, was very slow in taking the payment for our meal.
The interior is showing wear, with the ceiling pealing (which was noted the last time we dined) and the bathrooms need updates. Realizing restaurants are struggling, we always love the food and view!
Once seated our service was excellent and the food was excellent. I had an 8:00 reservation and we arrived at 7:45 to have a drink first. We stood in the bar area and were ignored for 15 minutes. Finally a waitress noticed and pointed out a table and got us drinks- very apologetic. We weren’t seated for our 8:00 reservation til 8:30. It was a very nice table tho overlooking the river and from there on a pleasant experience.
We have been to the Newport Chart House before and we have never been disappointed. It was easy to get a reservation via Open Table and the location and parking are convenient. As usual, the staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was excellent and our server was great. We will be back!
It was great
We made reservations to celebrate daughter's 21st birthday and the food and experience was phenomenal. Would have given 5 stars on the food but husband's steak was slightly overcooked, however the kitchen apologized and promptly cooked a different one. Chris, our waiter, was extremely knowledgeable on cuisine and made fantastic pairing recommendations. Definitely a memorable time.
