   Have had this reservation for over a month for my bday- I requested a water front window seat and we waited 20 minutes to be sat down, while other people who had reservations after us got sat before us at the window. Window seat was then unavailable, but once we sat down people were still getting sat at the window. Food was great, drinks were good, just didn’t feel like front desk staff valued us when we arrived

   Food was extremely disappointing, especially in light of the restaurant's reputation and other reviews. We were told that the Mahi Mahi was fresh, but it tasted like it was frozen. It was over cooked, not at all moist, not as thick as other Mahi Mahi I had at other restaurants, and had no flavor. I have had a similar fish at Bonefish for half the price that was far superior. I really cannot believe that the fish was fresh. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Ambiance at our corner table overlooking the water was superb; however, a loud, unruly, boisterous party was seated near us and made it very uncomfortable for everyone in the vicinity. Our server offered to move us to a quieter table, but we did not want to make a scene and we declined. She also said the manager couldn't really do anything unless the offenders were cursing. The dinner was quite expensive. Overall it was a totally disappointing experience, and I would not have been happy no matter what the price.

   The food was not good. “Coconut” rice that came with the swordfish has no flavor. The swordfish itself was okay but kinda dry. The fillet mignon was not good. Did not fast like a filet since it was tough. The blood orange sorbet cocktail was terrible!! The view was nice though.

   This is an awesome restaurant. You are truly a selling point for the Monterey Bay area. I am from Monterey, and this was wife's first time at your restaurant. We enjoyed the meal and the ambiance of the venue. I have recommended this restaurant to others and will continue to do so.

   Great service from our first stop for appetizers. Bar staff, food & drinks perfect. We moved to our dinner table where our view was stunning & perfect. Our waitress was delightful, patient & informative. Dinner was perfect along with our wine & desert. Thanks to all in celebrating our 37th anniversary Aurelio & Lourdes Sendejas (morgan hill).

    Excellent service and food as always. The noise was pretty quiet at our table, which made for a very pleasant dining experience all around. Our waitress was excellent and the bus boy, Julius, was outstanding.

    Disappointed across the board - long wait with 5:45pm reservations; tables & dinners packed too close near the windows making simple conversation difficult. Table service and food was just ok...nothing memorable. The dinner experience could have been so much better with just a little bit more elbow space and organization. In other words this restaurant is poorly managed!

    Had a reservation and was seated 30 minutes late. Once seated was not able to order food for another 15 minutes but had drinks for the bar before as we waited for a table. Our server was actually very friendly and was her first day on the job. Food was expensive and “ok”. Not bad, but nothing incredible. Dessert was the highlight and was actually very unique and flavorful (crème brûlée sampler). Seemed like a management issue with the restaurant as a whole that night to know fault of the server. She was very friendly and understanding.

    We had reservations for a party of 6 at 7:30 and was told when we checked in that our table was almost ready but we did not sit down until 8:20. Our drinks took about 15 minutes after we sat down. My husband had to go to the bar to get drinks. Their espresso machine was broke. We were celebrating my daughter’s college graduation and couldn’t be more disappointed by our experience. The food was good as usual but we did not get out of there until 10. Very disappointed!

    Went for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. We got there before it opened and the owner stopped to say hello. Our server Mark was friendly and attentive. Had the prime rib, it was melting in my mouth. Perfectly done and seasoned with herbs. The faux-jito was refreshing and not overly sweet. Would recommend 💯

    While waiting for my name to be called, I did not hear it. They sent a message to my phone which I did not expect. This caused an extra twenty minute wait. Where we were seated was so packed with tables our waiter had to bump into customers chairs to get through. Everything else was fine.

    I come here about once a month and take my elderly mom because she loves her filet mignon and the views. So decided to take her on Mother's Day as a treat. I was incredibly disappointed. First, the wait... Even with a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes which was hard on my mom who cannot stand idle very long and there were no seats available. Even that wasn't horrible. What was disappointing was they had a $72 menu, which wasn't told to me when I reserved. When we asked for the regular menu so my mom could have her favorite, we were told no, that we had to order from the $72 menu. What she loves wasn't on that menu. We are also on a fixed income and have dietary restrictions so the menu available really didn't work. No flexibility from the staff. I get that this was what it was but if I had known, we wouldn't have come. Ended up with a meal that felt so routine, not special. Salad was wilted, steak had mushroom sauce all over it, dessert (which we didn't want but was part of the stupid $72 menu) was falling apart. Kitchen backed up... Idk, I expect better here. Always has been wonderful but it's the last time I go with this fixed menu thing. Just not worth the price.

    We have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years. The service and scenery is great. Never ever that we came here and ended up dissappointed after our meal. We definitely brought family and friends throughout the years.

    It is never a bad experience when eating at this location. Only downfall for me was the set menu for Mother’s Day. Many of the people in our group didn’t want a 3 course meal. Plus I really wanted the paneed chicken, which wasn’t offered

    Terrible experience, food over an hour late, got all our orders wrong. This isn’t a real steakhouse. It’s not the right food or ambiance and the steak was very over cooked. Look elsewhere for a nice steak dinner.

    Let me start off by saying, this is not my first time at the chart house. It is however the first time I’ve gone during a holiday, and had to take a late reservation (8pm) so I will take that into consideration. The restaurant was certainly more crowded than I’m used to (again, holiday, so I understand completely). The wait for food was a lot longer then I’m used to as well. My son ordered the coconut crunchy shrimp (his favorite “no one does coconut shrimp like Chart House”), both my mom and I ordered the prime rib (captain and Callahan cut). Both had a substantial amount of fat and gristle, mine I delt with, but my mom had to send hers back because she was unable to even cut into it and when she got it back it looked like it had been thrown on the grill. I think our waitress came to the table once to refill our tea the entire time. She was sweet though and did offer us additional soup while we waited for our main course to arrive as she knew it had been a while. We refused because we knew we’d be too full when our food did arrive. It also seemed she was going to offer us a free dessert for the long wait and the issue with the food but again, we declined because we were beyond full at that point. The price was no different than any other time we’ve been there. Reasonable for the amount you get. Will this experience detour me from going again? No, absolutely not. Chart House is my all time favorite restaurant to go to. It’s always been the food, staff, service and atmosphere that brings me back time and again. Will I think twice before going on a holiday? Probably. Again, I completely understand, it was a holiday and they were slammed for sure. So I totally get that, it’s just for this visit, the food quality wasn’t what I’m used to from the Chart House. So I think I’ll keep my visits to outside holidays where I can also get my typical 4pm reservation. With that being said I’ll say again, I will be back to the Chart House, and I can’t wait ❤️

    Over Priced Drinks - only one of which actually tasted good. Brought wrong order to our table multiple times. Steak was not cooked to correct temperature. Service was also very slow.

    Our reservation was 6:15 and our meals weren't served until after 8. The food was extremely disappointing. The coconut shrimp were cold, the roasted vegetables were also cold and not cooked. The pasta was bland and the sirloin was tough. Pass on Monterey Chart House-they have a good view, but meals are a disappointment.

    Poor NY strip quality - choice?, not prime. Tasteless, tough and overcooked. Odd sour lobster pasta flavor, nice lobstertail, but overcooked and tough. Disappointing food. Great view.

    Was expecting way more out of this high end restaurant...was so excited to go..was sadly disappointed. Our waitered started out good but kept disappearing. Husbands both ordered steak med rare and they both came out well done..Husband had prime rib and was the thinnest cut we've ever seen. Waiter came to serve our meals but never came back before to clear our dirty plates..we asked for server twice so we could send back steaks and a manager just happened to walk by and handled...came time for ck server didn't double ck they left 4 steaks on bill..Good thing I looked at bill..wont be back

    We dine at the Chart House every visit to Monterey! Always a special time! Everything is always perfect! They know how to create the exceptional experience!     Our waiter, Richard, was fantastic. The entire staff from start to finish were on point and set us up for a great start to our evening. I explained we were going to make it fast because we had a four month old with us. Everything came out quickly and very tasty. Beautiful ambience, perfect table., great staff, and good food.
