Chart House Restaurant - Melbourne Ratings and Reviews
Another nice meal in a wonderful setting with great service. Unfortunately, the filet was over cooked which was unusual. Didn't have time to have them do it over again. Redoing an entrée throws the timing of the overall experience, leaving one person way behind others.
this was without a doubt one of the worse experiences I have ever had eating out. I do eat out regularly and from the start was a nightmare. food was terrible and it took 45 minutes from appetizers to getting the main course and when it came was cold and burned.
not to mentioned that had ordered dessert that never came.
Chart House never fails to impress; it starts from the valet parking and ends when the hostess wishes you a good night and thanks for visiting the Chart House. The service staff are always informative and attentive. The salad bar is first class and is highly recommended no matter what item a person orders for the main course (Caesar salad is a must). It is your call reference the dessert menu (all options are good based on trying them). The Chart House early bird menu is always has "first class" selections with their house special prime rib a good choice. There is always a Chef special (this night is was Parmesan crusted cod---very tasty)!!!
Terrific place, very welcoming as we booked online about 2 hours before we arrived. We're given great table overlooking the water. Saw dolphins jumping in the bay.
Friendly attentive staff. Food was superb, especially the seafood, catering to european tastes but with US portions - we were defeated and didn't make it to desert. Only weak spot was that main courses arrived as we finished our appetisers which was a little odd.
Overall though, a great place, food fresh, well presented and helpful staff.
The policy for being 15 minutes late for your reservation is forfeiture of said reservation at this restaurant reportedly. We were early by 30 minutes, had to wait an additional 20 minutes before they could seat us. Nothing was offered in a way to make us "comfortable" except please have a seat. The bar area was packed and was not a viable alternative for my group of 8. The food was good, service by Sarah was great, but after spending $500 for my guests evening, I don't know if the Chart House would be my choice for a full family dining experience.
My wife and I both ordered the prime rib, which the restaurant is know for. Hers was to be a 10oz cut done medium. Mine was the larger Callahan cut (14oz) done medium-rare. My wife's prime rib came out much less than 10oz and well done. My 14oz rib came out at the size it should have been, but done rare-to-raw. We sent both ribs back, and after a 5-10 minute wait the manager and waiter returned with replacement prime ribs done perfectly as we order, and the size of my wifes' cut was much thicker. The waiter should have realized that this is not we ordered, and should have rejected it in the kitchen. There's no excuse for this type of service, and the chef in charge of cooking meats are not following what the customer ordered.
We took my husbands mother here for her 80th birthday. It was a little crowded and the area where we were seated was near the bar area so a little on the noisy side but has a great view. Service was great, the waiter friendly and knowledgeable. They have an early bird which unlike some places did not skimp on the food. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly and we have always loved their garlic cheese mashed potatoes. The early bird includes a salad bar which has a good variety but not so over the top you don't want to eat your meal. We skipped the chocolate lava cake which is their signature desert and very decadent. Had the creme brule instead which could have used a better crust but still had good flavor. We will return again soon!
scheduled a 6pm table for 2 and was seated at 6:10! very acceptable. noise level in restaurant was high. hard to hear the waiter talk about the menu and most of the time hard to hear my wife speaking to me and me to her. The filet mignon was prepared as ordered, tender and tasty. the Yukon gold mashed potatoes which came with the meal was delicious. I had a ceasar salad and my wife had lobster bisque. the salad greens were crisp and without blemish and very tasty. Wife's lobster bisque was creamy and tender chunks of losbster with a hint of spiciness - just delightful. Wine was ordered and received. Delicious wine but was expensive and only a half glass( kinda stingy portion for the price). Overall, nice dinner but expensive
me and my wife had a weekend getaway and ate here for dinner and it was great. we didnt wait long for a table. reservations online helped with that and we were seated at the window and it was just a great romantic evening. the food was outstanding i had the ny strip and she had the lobster. both were perfectly cooked. the wait staff was attentive and prompt, without being bothersome and gave us time to relax and enjoy each other while also attending to our needs. i would come here all the time.
We chose the Chart House to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and they did not disappoint. The food was very good, from appetizer to dessert. I drank the pomegranate mojito, which was refreshing and very nice! The atmosphere was pleasant, and my husband and I had one of the tables that faced the windows. The view would have been amazing, had it not been at night. Our server was very sweet and recommended some really good items to eat. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and are still talking about the sizzling mushrooms! I would highly recommend this place, especially for a date night or special occasion. I hope to be back real soon!
The service was helpful, professional and attentive from the valet, to our server, to the manager checking on our dining experience. The view of the river and sunset made it an even nicer experience. All four people in our party thought the food was delicious.
Started at Happy Hour in bar area. Had the Ahi Tuna Nachos and Calamari. Both were excellent and really appreciate the great prices on drinks and appetizers. Continued on to dining room for the Early Bird dinner specials. Both of us had the prime rib dinner which included the awesome salad bar. Food and service were excellent . Truly the best deal in town.
From the time you're met by the valet parkers until you leave, friendliness is the overriding theme. Always a great experience.
Outdoor dining was a bit cold this particular night, mgmt was accommodating with space heaters; Server was best part of the experience not over the top she allowed us time to enjoy and not feel rushed; only negative is no modifications to menu are allowed so study menu prior to dining at chart house
LG cut of prime rib although tasty was not trimmed at all it had at least 5oz of fat on the tail making it a try 11oz cut for $34 a bit pricey would have expected better
Chart House specializes in seafood, but falls short of preparing a memorable gustatory experience that you expect from a Boston, MA seafood restaurant. The local seafood was fresh, just lacked something special that you expect for the price. The restaurant was really crowded at 6 PM, but the service was courteous, considerate, helpful and timely. The view of the bay and rising moon were memorable, but overshadowed by the closeness of the tables. I would return to the Chart House when the crowds are typically thinner and would search for better menu offerings.
The food was terrific. I'd recommend the salad bar above everything else. Better deal, more variety, same great quality. Highly recommend this place even though I got a reservation for 630pm was there at 615pm, wasn't seated till almost 650pm and claimed they were waiting for tables, but there was plenty of empty ones. Anyways that didn't dissuade me all that much. Another problem was the food took quite a while to come out. Almost 1:15 in total for entrees to appear. Price was reasonable for the food. Around 50$ for small app and just about any entree and a drink (soda, tea, water). Lastly, I was caught off guard by the fact that they can run out of the fried asparagus app but not the steamed asparagus side dish on almost all entrees.
