Extraordinarily noisy. Not at all what we wanted for a quiet intimate evening.
Food very good and service very good but if you take the view away there is zero ambiance
Every thing was great. We had the best table in the house. The waitress was very helpful. We had 7 young men with us and the were all very impressed. Thank you.
As with most restaurant experiences, both good and bad, it starts with the server In this case she seemed disengaged and with an attitude more reminiscent of a busy truck stop waitress than fine dining wait staff Appetizers were were very good I suspected trouble was ahead with a very long absence by our waitress who then came by to tell me she would check in the kitchen on our meals, as if she was doing us a favor However, both entree’s were simply awful They arrived cool, obviously having sat for awhile before being retrieved In my wife’s case she ordered a shellfish dish with the “sauce” on the side Sadly the “sauce” came covering the dish and tasted virtually identical to canned cream corn My “strip steak with pappardella” was thin chunks of gristly beef and limp pasta The add on lobster tail was well prepared and tasty When the manager asked, we were blunt and he reduced the bill for our virtually uneaten entrees We joked that asking how I wanted the steak prepared (I asked for med rare) was absurd with meat chunks 1/2 inch thick He was pleasant and apologetic, our waitress not so much when she brought the bill for the balance of the meal and corkage I don’t mind pouring my own wine and used dishes left to linger when the wait staff is busy but this place seemed to have enough staff Ours was just MIA
This was our second experience at Chart House Our first experience was a Sunday brunch which was good to very good with very professional service Better dining opportunities in the Melbourne area are very limited so we came back here for a special occasion (birthday) If a view of the river from a low ceilinged noisy room is as important to you as consistently high quality food and service, give it a try This disaster could be atypical and every waitress can have a bad night That said we expected a good celebration, not a comped meal we couldn’t eat
We were very disappointed due to the quality of the food being cold, the snapper and standard potatoes being so sweet (why were the sweet in the first place), the prime rib had way too much fat. The waitress was not very responsive and we had to reminded her twice about my wife's glass of wine. This was our anniversary and it did not go very well at all.
Been dining at the Chart House for 34 years. Our "go to" place for special occasions1
We had a wonderful celebration for my mother's 95th birthday thanks to your delicious food and personable staff. Everything was perfect and the menu with our personal message was an unexpected but delightful surprise. Thank you for such a great time, we will be returning soon to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

Great meal and views
The restuarant was very noisy. Good dinner menu but pricy, Would only use for a special occasion event. Waitress was excellent(Sarah)
one of our favorite places, lovely view and outstanding service.
Excellent seats by the window overlooking the river. Great food, drinks, and service. Pricey but well worth it.
Always a pleasant place to dine. Tables are getting a bit close together although if you were in NYC this would be normal// but we are not.
Everyone enjoyed their meal with one observation: the mashed potatoes tasted as if they came out of a box. We do like The Chart House.
Our dinners were very good. Appetizers and dessert as well. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The noise level was pretty high but conversation was still possible. The only issue was that even with a reservation we still had to wait a good half-hour for our table to be ready. To do the staff credit the restaurant was very busy and they did move people in and out as fast as possible but our party included an elderly person with a walker and a 10 year old. The long wait was a bit of a trial for both of them. In my opinion reservation management needs to be tightened up.
It was little noisy more then usual.
Not the usual window seat:(
Still, food was good. Service could be better.
Disappointed in the Chart House. We arrived to a parking situation which required valet parking, which for us is a turn off. Came into a poorly lit interior with excellent water view. I ordered the clam chowder to start which was so loaded with corn starch that my spoon lay on top of the soup. My husband's shrimp came with dry ice and all of that drama-- not sure what that meant. My mahi main course was bland and uninspired. I had asked for no rice but double vegetables (vegetables in place of rice + vegetables as part of standard order) and got rice. When our bill came, we were charged for a dozen oysters which we had not ordered.
I have been in this restaurant many times and the quality of the food is always good. We did have one issue concerning the food choice of a 8 years old girl. She wanted a hamburger and she received an adult type burger for which was too big for her to handle. The choices should be assessed depending on the individual.
Beautiful waterfront setting with dolphin playing just outside our window. Delicious omelets and benedicts with a great salad and fruit bar and $2 mimosas. Chocolate lava cake was outstanding, along with the complimentary birthday mud pie. Excellent service. Will definitely return!
My wife and I actually had our engagement dinner at the Chart House in Philadelphia to find one here in Florida was so great and then for it to be as nice or even better just topped it off great great place
Our server, Johnny, was great!!
Food was scrumptious !!
The food was pretty good but our appetizer never arrived and the waiter seemed surprised when we cancelled it after our dinners arrived! The ginger and coconut rice formerly my favorite item was a huge disappointment and was just a soggy mess of over cooked rice without flavor.
Great restaurant but crab cakes were a huge disappointment, they were nothing like the advertisement they sent out.
Enjoyed our special anniversary dinner very much.
Super crowded and noisy. Even with a reservation made well in advance for a special occasion, we waited 45 min with a little child. We got a table that was right in the middle of everybody’s path. The table was wobbling and the wine bottle almost spilled. The meat was excellent but the mashed potatoes were aweful. Too pricey for what you get.
Always an excellent choice, the Chart House continues their heritage of fine dining in Melbourne. Special birthday attention was given to our guest of honor, and the service staff thanked us for booking through Open Table. Very enjoyable evening. High recommend the Maize Shrimp & Scallops. You will not be sorry if you love seafood.
Our wait to be seated with reservations was lengthy. The service was slow and non-responsive to our needs. The noise level was high and distracting. The food selection is limited, but what we ordered was good.
I had a reservation and they didn’t have a table for me until about 15 minutes later. The food and service were fine but the food was definitely not worth the price.
I don't think I receive any points...waiter did not ask
I have been going to the Chart House for over 20 years. They are known for excellent service and food, especially the prime rib and seafood, and have a fantastic view on the water. Easily it is one of the premier restaurants in the area and I would highly recommend it. It's happy hour and appetizer menu is one of the very best. Reservations are a must but even that can mean a half hour wait on the weekends. If there is any problem, the manager will compensate by offering complimentary deserts etc., as was the case on my last visit. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area and enjoy the ambiance and food at the Chart House.
It was our first time at Chart House. Our daughter gifted us a certificate as a Christmas present. My wife and I decided to share this with our daughter and two granddaughters.
We were surprised to be greeted by a valet service. We did not expect that nor were we sure what to do. I was uncomfortable with others driving our vehicle.
We had a reservation and were seated quickly in a corner with a great outside view. Our server Sarah introduced herself and did a great job of taking care of our needs. Two seniors, an adult and two children required different attention and got it.
We ordered appetizers and wine and items from the children's menu, the "before six " menu and the regular menu. It was all good, hot and well presented with generous portions. Sarah had a knack of checking us without being obtrusive and with excellent timing.
Being rather full, we skipped the dessert menu reluctantly.
From the size of the dinning crowd, the popular bar and those waiting to be seated, it looks like Chart House lives up to its good reputation. The only downside is the pricing with is on the high side.
After the meal we went through the valet service to retrieve our vehicle, again a bit of an awkward moment not knowing what to do and how to tip.
If your looking for delicious food this is the place but if your looking for a more relaxing atmosphere this is not the place... very loud happy hour crowd so it takes away from everything else this dinning experience has to offer.
Great food, great service, with a great view.
Excellent as always. Best restaurant in Brevard County.
We really enjoy the Chart House - we dine at one of their restaurants about every 3 months- food is always great- we shared the Prime Rib and it was perfect - Great food and dining experience-
We had a fantastic dining experience. Diana was our server and she was awesome. We ordered the Prime Rib and blackened Salmon, both were very good. Honestly our service is what would bring us back. If you have a chance, request Diana, she is so happy and joyful. Why a great dining experience.
I've been to this Chart House many times and usually am very happy with both the food and service. This visit however was less than expected and disappointing. I took a friend for her birthday since she hadn't been in years and used to love their salad bar. The early dining menu included the salad bar so that's what she wanted to do. The salad bar was the highlight for me it was down hill after that. I ordered the Red Snapper, which I've had before and it was excellent, not so this time. The waitress brought me what I know was cod and some gummy potatoes. I was out for my friends birthday so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since we had already waited a while. I thought okay she input the order wrong so I'll eat it and it will be adjusted on the bill. First, the cod was tasteless and the potatoes we awful. I had over half my meal on the plate, pointed it out to her that I just couldn't eat it, she said yeah the potatoes don't look right. That's it! no let me get you new ones, I'll get the manager etc., second, the price on the bill was for the red snapper, she didn't even realize it was the wrong fish. Wait staff in the past would never have made this mistake. Awful. My friends dinner was the chicken dish and she liked the chicken but was disappointed in the potatoes as well. It appears the hiring here leaves something to be desired a lot of young inexperienced staff not what the Chart House used to be...Hopefully this was just a bad night since this is one of my favorite places to eat in Melbourne.
Overall good expieriance , went for the early bird special and was very satisfied.
Went for a Double Birthday Brunch. Food and service were excellent. Had the Crab Cake Benedict really enjoyed this dish which was complemented by the salad bar.
I had the best calamari that I've ever eaten it was fabulous. The energetic noise level was way too high to be able to have a conversation, so we focused on the food and said which was wonderful. Excellent place to go.
Waiter was a bit distracted
Elegant, well staffed restaurant. Fairly large menu with a few standout items. Nicely prepared seafood dishes. Can be counted on for a special occasion.
Prime Rib is beyond compare and cooked to precision. Sides of mushrooms and creamed spinach were excellent!! Beautiful view, service excellent. Will return!
