I have been to other Chart House locations, but my husband has never dined at one before. This was my treat for my his birthday dinner. We arrived about 20 minutes early and happily sat at the bar-- bar service was poor. We were never greeted or acknowledged. Finally got the bartenders attention....drinks were fair. We appreciated being sat by the window per request for the special occasion-- and the added touch of having birthday wishes printed at the top of the menu was nice! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, although he forgot my order and had to come back to “double check” and then forgot to add the side of mushrooms to my husband’s order.... so once we got our server’s attention and requested them he rang them in-- when they arrived he was already 3/4 the way done with his meal. I did appreciate his honesty that it was his error. We are all human. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I would likely go back for special occasions-- or maybe happy hour at a cocktail table.
We always have the best dinner and experience there one of my favorite restaurants ♥️
We usually have a very nice experience but we did not on this occasion. We were celebrating my mother’s visit to Florida. Our waitress was not interested in us because we didn’t have many drinks or appetizers. Our meal was late coming out. My mother’s prime rib was great, however my wife asked for extra blackening on her salmon and did not receive it. My filet was tough and for that price it should not have been that bad. It was too cold in the restaurant so I didn’t complain because I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Plus my mother wanted Italian dressing for her salad and was told there wasn’t any. The restaurant was crowded and extremely noisy. We have been coming to the Chart House for all of our families special occasions and never have we had an experience like this one.
I can't recommend this restaurant due to the fact that the hostesses really need some training on how to manage tables and guests, not to mention people skills! We had a reservation for 7:45pm and arrived 25 minutes early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. They said our table wouldn't be ready until closer to our reservation time. No biggie! We enjoyed some wine at the bar and as 7:45 came and went so asked the hostess about our table. We got the deer in the headlight look??? Oh, your next to be seated. Then shortly after that we noticed a couple that came in after us was seated before we were. After asking the hostess again oh your next on the list, another couple was seated, they were there maybe 10 minutes. At this point it was after 8pm and we were ready to leave when our table became available. Upon sitting there were multiple tables for two available. I asked, why did we have to wait so long if these are available? Oh, these just became available. Really!! I asked what's the point of making a reservation if your not going to honor them. These table just came open was the line we received three times. LOL! Right!! Then to top it off they sat a party of nine who just walked in the door! Poor management to allow this to happen and obviously no proper training. Not what you would expect from a so called high end restaurant!! We weren't the only couple that complained that night either so this must be a normal occurrence and none of this had any effect on how these two hostesses approached solving these issues. We won't be back for dinner. Happy Hour is okay! Great bartenders!!
My husband and I really enjoyed the food and service at the Chart House. We had a great view of the intercostal waterway!! The Pomegranate Martini I had was awesome. I had a filet, and my husband had a shrimp and scallops dish which was wonderful. Our waitress Diana was great. If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant for your family this is the place!
I have been many times to the Melbourne, FL restaurant and have always been pleased - until this past Sunday. I brought a friend to celebrate her birthday and have a Sunday brunch. We we seated immediately (I had a reservation) and it looked like it was going to be another wonderful Sunday brunch. There was no potato nor pasta salad at the salad bar this time and my poached eggs on the Traditional Eggs Benedict were overcooked. Also, our waitress, who has provided excellent service in the past, brought the check but neglected to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. She appeared to be upset because my guest and I wanted coffee and she had to redo the bill. I will continue to visit the Chart House because out of many times I have been there, this is the only time I have been disappointed. Hopefully, this was just a one-off and things will be better next time.
The service was very good, we got there for a late dinner and one of their waiters cleared a table for us to sit by the windows facing the ocean. The place was full with a lot of friendly conversations going on, The menu offered a number of interesting alternatives. The food was good and well prepared.
They have the best seafood. You must try the swordfish. The server was very helpful.
Excellent service excellent food, from the polite valets, to the efficient staff and wait service, great view, attentive even though they were packed and turning over tables quickly. The food is the star. Outstanding experience. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a delicious meal that was served at a good pace with a smile. The view of the water from our table was amazing.
The service was very good. Some of what we ordered was up to the level of the price, however overall at that price point I would expect a bit higher quality. We ordered the crab stuffed flounder and New York strip. For the price charged they should have used fresh crab in the stuffing. The steak was a bit tough and lacked flavor. The facility itself while nicely decorated is far to noisy for an intimate dining experience.
As usual, the food and decor were great. It's always a treat to eat at Chart House. I love that there is still caviar at the salad bar!
Two things detracted from our experience; our waiter was not very attentive, he left our oyster plates on the table for 10-15 minutes after we finished. He never came back by to check if we needed anything else one our entrees arried, and when removing dishes from the table, left a plate of shrimp tails sit on the table - these stayed until we paid the bill.
Also, it was very noisy! We were celebrating Valentine's Day, but couldn't really carry on a conversation with each other.
The food was good. When I made the reservation for my husbands birthday I specifically requested a window table. They seated us on the back row. When I told them that I had ask that they reserve us a table by the window I was told by the hostess that “everyone wants a window seat”. That’s all she said and walked away rudely.
We were disappointed because that was our main reason for going there.
Certainly over priced! 19.50 for a salad bar REALLY! Everything was a la carte, no entree on the menu was less than 26.00 an that was farmed salmon. I made a reservation for 6:00 and did not get seated until 6:40. You should consider these things.
Arrived 6pm....was seated at 6:26pm...too long a wait!
