We were seated 15 minutes earlier than our reservation, that was nice. Very busy, so service was a touch slow a couple of times, but ok. Thanksgiving dinner was way overpriced for two small slices of turkey and very small portions, all of which were luke warm! The noise level was higher than usual, but was ok and to be expected with a full house. Won't ever order the thanksgiving dinner again!
4th Anniversary Dinner and we just decided to wing it and head to Chart House at the last minute(ish...we made reservations). Staff was accommodating, seated us at a killer spot by the window; hooked us up with a surprise slice of Anniversary Dessert from the kitchen and even spotted us a mini bottle of prosecco. Basically, Chart House went well over and beyond in making us happy. I've dined at over 20 of your locations through the years and have come to trust the level of quality that this chain provides. We have been to this restaurant many times. This time we took two friends with us to
introduce them to the place. Unfortunately it was a disaster. We waited
35 minutes for water and bread. We asked for two cocktails and wine. One of us
asked for olives in her drink three times and they never arrived. We were at the
restaurant three hours, most of the time waiting for them to figure out who our server
would be and then waiting for service Three of us were very pleased with our fish dinners; however, the one "new" guest ordered the prime rib and it was so tough that it was inedible. When the waiter cleared our dishes and finally asked how everything was our guest told him the prime rib was inedible because it was so tough. The waiter took his dinner off the bill which was the right thing to do but I seriously doubt that they will ever return to this restaurant.
The Chart House is one of those restaurants I look to when I want a special evening. We had an east coast visitor and wanted to take her somewhere with a great view and great food.
Our reservation was for 5:30 on Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded and we were able to sit at a window table. Our server, Topaz, answered all of our questions about the food and the drinks. The service was excellent and the food, superb as always: Kim Chee Calamari, Shrimp and Wild Mushroom Bruschetta, Amber Flame Cobia with Mushroom and Kale Risotto.
Our visitor loved the restaurant, the food and the service, which was our goal. I cannot wait for the next special occasion to come back to The Chart House.
This restaurant has been there for a long time so I thought I would give it a try. We had a very nice waitress but that was the only thing I could say that was acceptable. I ordered a Grey Goose Gimlet on the Rocks and the Bartender did not know how to make one. I had to show the waitress the recipe....
They used to be known for their extensive salad bar..It was mediocre at best. My Steak was OK, my Husbands was not cooked well..he ordered it Medium/Rare....it was Red and Bloody with a cold center...cooked as if it was done by a inexperienced chef.. The Mashed Potato's were pasty and tasted as if they were cooked the day prior.
I would not go back...
What an amazing experience. We went there for our wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. The little touches they did to make our evening special was perfect. I highly recommend going there for a special occasion. Can't wait to go back.
better than last visit but still not like old days; our server was nice and attentive however he seemed to want to rush us to move things along, he'd mentioned it was end of his shift..we were still eating our salads when main courses were brought, a more experienced server would've waited a bit; we were celebrating a birthday however one of us was still eating dinner so even tho a very nice complimentary dessert with a candle was brought, it wasn't appreciated as 1 of us was still eating dinner and going to the salad bar; the check was brought while STILL eating, he wanted to go he should've left and been replaced with someone not in such a rush. the food was good but as usual the tossed ceasar salad bowel was empty and never refilled which is how it always seems to be and many things at the salad bar, caviar included were not being replenished. Although its a nice view which can make for a nice dining experience along with the just mentioned issues, most annoying of all was some chef yelling all night "order up" "Order up" so servers could get orders but diners do not need to hear it all night! how about servers just keep checking on orders?? as we wanted to walk over and yell "shut up"..ladies room was not the cleanest either...the manager was nice but wasn't Dave the 1 we know..the end
I chose Chart House for a dinner with friends visiting from Hartford, CT. They requested an oceanfront restaurant.
I was disappointed with my food: salad bar and short ribs with gnocci. The salad bar was mediocre; not worth the high price. The pineapple was not ripe. The entrée was OK, but no better than that. The pieces of short rib were good, but the gnocci was not very tasty.
My friends ordered filets and a cherry-apple dessert. they liked the entrees very much, but disliked (and didn't finish) the dessert. They told the manager about their dislike of the dessert, and he took it off the bill. The bill stated "Did not like", indicating that this happens often enough that the restaurant programmed it in their computer.
The food was decent. Definitely not worth the price unfortunately. Also, the waiter, although very kind and seemingly knowledgeable about the menu, was not attentive and the restaurant was less than than 1/2 full. We spent a lot of time looking for him. My sweetheart and I ordered risotto as a side dish and I felt the waiter should have mentioned that our entrée came with rice. Our food was not hot when it came out either. There were 6 of us and the booth was so large that we had to speak rather loudly to hear anyone across from us.
Our experience at this restaurant was less than stellar. The ambience is very nice. However, service was lacking on this very evening. We ordered the king crab legs and the server said they would be sliced open. They were brought to the table not sliced, so it was brought back to the kitchen to be sliced (not very well though) and meanwhile the baked potato was not warm any longer, and neither were the crab legs. The server did not check back to see how we were doing, not once, so there was no opportunity to correct this until the very end when we asked for the check. The manager did apologize & tried to rectify the situation, explaining they got very busy.
Haven't been to the Chart House in many, many years, and was pleased to find you again. Food was very tasty and nicely prepared, and the service from James was excellent. We'll be back! We especially liked the personalized menu with the names of the Birthday celebrants printed on them. Very nice touch!
