Very Disappointed. Bone in my fish. Did not tell us in advance of the 30-40 minutes to order the lava cake. We will not return. Overpriced for the value.
Over priced, food quality is not what you pay for, and service is not up to par for this type of restaurant
We love to come to the Chart House for the Snapper Hemingway. We were very disappointed to learn that they no longer have it on the menu. We were told the reason they no longer carry it is because it comes in frozen. Living in Florida I’m surprise that they are not able to get it local. Our waiter whom had a curled mustache had a major attitude the evening that he served us. I’m not sure we will return to the Chart House until the Snapper Hemingway returns.
Go for the view and not the food. Food quality seems good taste is not there. Beautiful atmosphere but food is pricey and mediocre. It’s what you would expect from a large corporate owned environment.
We had an amazing experience at Chart House!! We made reservations on Open Table with a specific occasion (bday) in the reservation. Upon arriving the menus were specially printed for our birthday wishing us a very happy birthday. We were seated outside on the waterfront deck with a gorgeous gulf backdrop. Our waiter Aziz was friendly, provided amazing service with specific recommendations and took our picture several times (we are picky about pictures!). The food was amazing, especially the kim chi calamari and the key lime pie! Aziz also brought out special birthday ice cream pie and thankfully didn’t sing, but tastefully wished me a happy birthday. This was an amazing experience and hope to return again on out next visit to Longboat!
All good here. My swordfish was cooked to perfection. Waiter was a attentive.
Very slow service. 20 minutes after being seated, we had no water and our server had not taken our drink order.
Food was outstanding and the view from the outside deck was awesome.
Underwhelmed. I’ve been to several Chart Houses over the years, & this visit was definitely not up to the mark. For appetizers, 2 of our party had the salad bar, which was excellent. However it seemed to take a very long time to get the soup melange (3 Demi tases soups) and the carpaccio plate. Both items were well prepared & tasty, but the salad eaters were finished by the time sour sops arrived. The dining room was almost empty. For entrees we had the baked-stuffed shrimp (way over cooked, dry with a curdled butter sauce) the stuffed flounder(delicious but Luke warm, served with a huge baked potato also cold in the center), the black tipped shark special ( also Luke warm but very tasty) ! The pan seared Halibut which was the only highlighted entree, flaky, hot and great flavor.
Desserts of key lime pie & creme brûlée sampler were very good but the time between courses was intolerable consider the empty dining room.
The view is always amazing. Relaxing atmosphere. Waitress very attentive and friendly.. We requested window seating and they were able to accommodate! My steak was a little dry and side of mushrooms I felt over priced . My husband's fish was delicious
We love the chart house. Have two friends coming for their first time this Saturday night at 6:30. Have told them there is no restaurant in Sarasota with a better view and a better menu.
The salad bar was half empty at 5:30. I asked for vegetables instead of potatoes. I got the potatoes no vegetables and when I said something they were going to find out and never did get the vegetables. Worse service I ever had at your restaurant and it might be a while before I come back
We’ve had dinner at the Chart House for many occasions including birthday, anniversary and for Mother’s Day. The location is fantastic located on the south end of LBY overlooking the water and Lido Key. The dinner is usually exceptional but I gave our most recent experience a 3 star for a a couple of reasons. It was Mother’s Day and we were also celebrating my wife’s birthday (she was a Mother’s Day baby). She ordered blackened grouper and it was delivered without any seasoning. When we said something to our waiter, she offered to put it on a plate and have it seasoned. Unfortunately it came back broken up and it was dry. My wife just picked at it and that was it. I would have expected them to cook a new piece of grouper and I would have expected the manager to have stopped by to see if it was now to her liking. This didn’t happen. I had the Tuna and it was fantastic and one of my daughters had lobster and loved it. I just wish this issue would have been resolved differently. We also had to move because we were sitting under the AC vent and it was dripping water because of the humidity. Don’t fault the restaurant for this. Overall, it really is a wonderful place to for for a special occasion. Hopefully they’ll read this feedback and rethink how to treat a seafood order when it’s not prepared to the customer’s liking.
Omg, the food was so fresh and delicious. I notice d they had also remodeled . Our service was excellent and the view was amazing. The server was so knowledgeable about entrees and pairing of wines.
The view was incredible and service was OK considering it was Mother's day.
Our family celebrated Mother’s Day and we had a great time as always.
Christina was our server....personable. attentive. and a great sense of bumor👍 We thoroughally enjoyed our evening
We usually like Chart House and have been there numerous times. Our Mothers Day experience was dismal! My wife’s dinner was totally fouled up. She ordered scallops and shrimp. When dinner came her dish had no scallops. We pointed this out and were then told they ran out of scallops and gave her an extra shrimp. No choice or option to place another order. Finally we were able to return the fish and reorder. We asked for the manager who came over and apologized and stated my wife’s dinner would be gratis. When the bill came my wife’s meal ( new dish) was on the bill. We again asked for manager who arrived and stated this was another mistake and he adjusted the bill. What poor service!
Very disappointed . After making reservation online I actually called and spoke to restaurant staff member . I wanted to confirm that the menu that was shown on line would be the menu being served the day of reservation. I was told it was and that there would be no changes. Also times listed for seating showed from 9:30 on. The first available time for a party of 6 was 11. We rearranged our day and booked 11. When we arrived we found out restaurant did not open until 11. There were no seatings before then. After being seated was when we discovered that there was a different menu than what had been told by the staff member. When this was mentioned to our waiter we were told that we had been misinformed and he was sorry.
The chef did prepared 2 egg dishes for our table but overall 5 put of 6 in the party were very disappointed with the entire experience.
We love this restaurant but our Mother's Day experience there was very disappointing. They actually do NOT do a Mother's Day brunch at 11 am but instead serve their Dinner menu for brunch. What are they thinking?
After realizing that there was no brunch/lunch, only dinner items, we asked why that was and our waiter told us it was because they do not serve brunch on a 'Holiday"! We have been to the Chart House many times for brunch/lunch and love it, with their inexpensive cocktails and great food items. So that is why we wanted to go again but for Mother's Day this time, only to be told that there was no brunch/lunch being served that day. We just could not understand their reasoning but know for a fact that we will not be caught like that next year!!!! Too many beautiful Mother's Day brunches being served at every other restaurant here in Sarasota!!
Chart House was a fail on multiple levels. Food quality was mediocre. Prices were high and service was lousy. Nice location. The place just feels old, out of touch with high quality dining and more like hotel or institutional food than chef driven food. Very disappointing.
The waiter was awful he brought us the wrong meal then he gave us the wrong check
We had a reservation for 7:15PM. We were told it would be 15 minutes. After 25 minutes in the bar area we decided to eat there. Our appetizer came out after our meal. Food was outstanding. Our waiter was MIA for 20 minutes. We were told the restaurant was having computer issues and I would not be able to use my reward card. Manager stepped up and took care of the issue.
The evening did not start off well. We had 7:15 PM reservations and arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 PM. The receptionist was not too friendly and let us know that we were early and they had to setup the table. I spoke to the receptionist again at 7:15 and she indicated they were still setting up the table. Somewhere around 7:40 PM the receptionist let us know that our table was ready. The restaurant was extremely noisy and while the waiter was okay, receiving our drink and food orders were greatly delayed (drinks came after the appetizer). The waiter let us know that the bar and kitchen were "slammed" (think it had more to do with being understaffed in these areas). I ordered the shrimp and scallops entre which were very good, just skimpy (3 shrimp and 3 scallops). Only order this dish if you are not hungry. My wife's fish dish was a little more generous and also very tasty. After close to 2.5 hours of “leisurely dining” we decided not to order dessert. If you like expensive good food, poor service, and extremely prolonged dining experience this is the restaurant for you. Otherwise, at this price point there are far better restaurants with excellent service and a cordial staff.
We celebrated Mom (from CA) at The Chart House and loved the service, food and water view. To boot, Reese couldn't have been more attentive and engaging as our Server. We look forward to our next time!
The food is superb, the waiters are attentive and helpful, the view is spectacular, this is a restaurant you want to eat at. It is highly recommended.
The views are awesome, however the food is not good enough for the prices charged. Service was awesome however.
Very good experience. We went for a birthday celebration. We will be back.
We were seated next to the salad bar and kitchen which was rather noisy. They had several other booths open where they could have seated us. We had a reservation and no one sat in any of the the other booths while we were there.
Unfortunately we were seated in an area where the ventilation system was not operating. Sadly this made what should have been a great dining experience one that was far less so.
Great experience at Chart House. The food was great and the service to match. We'd definitely go again.
As always the salad bar was excellent. The upstairs dining area does get a bit warm.
Not treated very special even though they knew that it was both a birthday and an anniversary!!! Wouldn’t recommend for special occasions!
Comfortable, relaxing, salad bar w/early bird dining unbeatable. Have been repeat customers for years and hopefully will continue enjoying this restaurant win the future.
We thought our sever, Gerry, was was excellent, courteous and attentive. Our food was was prepared to perfection and served hot, however, we believe there was something wrong with the computer system that tracks our visits. We received this notice from Landry's Select on March 28th: Richard - "Don't Forget to Use Your Rewards! You have $25 in Rewards, of which $25 in Earned Rewards will expire at 12:01am CST on April 27, 2019." To take advantage of this reward we ate at the Longboat Key Chart House with two friends on the 26th, but the $25 was not taken off our dinner bill, which I had found out later after more closely reviewing the bill. My wife and I returned to the same Chart House on the 28th to take advantage of my birthday reward of $25 (but didn't complain of the previous bill problem). When my bill arrived it did not have the $25 reward. I pointed this out to our server, Gerry, and the reward correction was made after showing our e-mail rewards noted on our iPhone from Landry.
Going to the Chart House was a gift from my cousin. They have raved and raved about the Chart House for as long as I could remember. I was so excited to finally make it there. I made reservations and asked to be seated next to a window - we were sat outside - all indoor seating apparently was taken. Our waiter was excellent - knowledgeable about the food, helpful when asked questions, and very attentive. However, our food was good at best. Nothing to write home about I'm afraid. Then we started getting bit by little bugs, we finally followed the couple next to us and went indoors and sat in the bar area to finish our dinner/dessert. It was very lovely inside - where I wanted to be in the first place. There were 5 of us for dinner and again dinner was ordinary - nothing extraordinary and it was over $350.00. I'm afraid I won't be returning any time soon. Just a suggestion....perhaps screening in the outside eating area would be beneficial.
Food was great, service was extremely slow. We were seated at 6:30 and did not get out door until 9:25.
I was in town for my best friends wedding and was looking for a nicer restaurant that offered a variety of steaks that we could have our bachelor party at. They were able to accommodate eleven people with one day notice and in a part of the restaurant with an excellent view of the water and bridge. Our server, Cheyenne, although attempting to provide reasonable service.. fell very short. I very rarely complain at restaurants..very very rarely.. but this was basically a disaster. Multiple appetizers weren’t delivered including soups, salads, and shrimp. Our steaks/prime rib, although of fair quality, were screwed up remarkably.. incorrect wellness, incorrect size cuts, incorrect toppings, over cooked asparagus..the list goes on. Our reservation was at 715 and we didn’t leave until closing..and that wasn’t what we planned. It basically dictated and ruined other plans that we had — how, you might ask? Getting our bills was such a debacle, our server literally brought the incorrect bill three times to multiple people in our party. In an effort to keep a bright and festive mood we rolled with the setbacks, although by the end it had become just too much.. They offered dessert and coffee after a member of our party complained but after having spent nearly three hours in what was otherwise meant to be only dinner.. we just wanted to leave. The food was decent at best and the service was awful, but the views of the water were lovely. I would never recommend this place to anyone, BT even for the value, and likely would never come back. This is the longest review I’ve ever written, by far.
Fair for the chain. Have been to better
Marcelo our waiter made the experience of dining at the chart house very enjoyable. Even though he was extremely busy he met all our needs and was very pleasant. Good job on hiring this young man!
