Chart House Salad Bar
served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes
Server seemed to be over extended on tables, food was warm not hot and bathrooms were dirty and no soap in dispenser.
Dinner and ambiance were Great! Thank you to management for a GREAT table, for helping get flowers on the table and creating a personalized menu for the birthday. Unfortunately, felt like the sever was initially in a “turn and burn”mode.. he finally realized we were taking our time, or got busy with other tables and he stopped pushing. Disappointed he missed a candle in the dessert even though we had flowers and personalized menus that said Happy Birthday. Wouldn’t have mattered except, the table seated next to us had one, and they told him it was a birthday after they finished their meal. Attention to detail may help him in the future.
From our arrival to our departure, everything was perfect. Food and drinks timed properly. Grouper, prime rib and crab legs were all excellent. Our, server, Jen did an amazing job.
Great Service, Attention to detail, One of the best meals of my life!
Fabulous service from Jen on a rainy Sunday evening...and the food was equally terrific. Only distraction from a perfect evening was the "fake" candle and aging silverware.
Had a great time. Food was excellent!
Food was great, view was wonderful, drinks were great. All in all, a lovely night out.
Marcial was an amazing server! The food exquisite. Can’t wait to go back!
We were seated upon arrival David was our waiter and he went out of his way to make sure we were happy with our food choices. Everything we ordered was delicious. This restaurant practices Covid-19 social distancing and waiters wear masks. That was mush appreciated by us.
After our dinner my husband told our server that he was a member of their loyalty program, but she wasn’t able to find his account initially, but after several tries was able to locate it & told us he still had his birthday reward to use from June! The staff was so accommodating & the food was excellent!
There was insufficient service staff. We were 9 minutes early to our reservation, were directed to the bar. sat there 10 minutes no one approached us to take an order. Had to go back to the host at our reservation time, were not paged. Took 10 minutes before a server took our drink order an hour before our second drink. Entire experience was over an hour and a half. I understand issues with covid. Our server was covering a very large area and did his best. Not a good experience and I've been going to the chart house for many years in many states.
I would normally recommend Chart House, but not during the current situation.
Our server Christina was outstanding, the food was good as was the view.
They ran out of multiple items. Service slow.
We understand many people in the area don’t like food over seasoned. However, the food we ate had little to no seasoning at all. Food was bland and flavorless. Vegetables were steamed and not cooked all the way. My rice and swordfish were tasteless to the point where I couldn’t differentiate which one I was eating. The mash potatoes were bland and stiff. The shrimp on the shrimp cocktail were dry! Lastly the server described their molten lava cake as the best thing in the world, yet there was no “lava”. Just an over cooked cake with ice cream. To top it all off the server interrupted the whole table to let everyone know my card didn’t work, when in fact it did and was quite embarrassing. For a restaurant of this caliber to be putting out food like this is insulting to say the least when you’re spending nearly $200. We felt robbed, there are far too many greater restaurants in Sarasota.
Our grilled swordfish was to die for!! I will order it again.
I hadn’t been to the chart in several years. I remember it being a fabulous experience. It was our go to restaurant for special events. The view is still beautiful, but everything else that made it so special is gone. People were dressed in jean shorts, and casual clothing that belongs at a tiki hut. Very large parties with young children who were pretty well behaved, but 12 kids sitting with no adults are going to get noisy. Adults were all sitting at a table near by. Food was okay but not special in any way. Our waitress did a great job with everything she had to cope with. Overall, not the Chart House remember. Disappointing!
We were seating in time with our reservations. Great window seat with view. I was served a mule drink not in a mule cup. Second drink was made by someone who was not the bartender. Server was great. Did their best. Steak came out cold as well as the mashed potatoes. Thankfully they took the second drink and steak off the bill.
I visit this restaurant about once a month and have for several years. I like Bernaise sauce when ordering steak and they are using the "Covid-19" excuse as to not offer it any longer in the very near future. This excuse is just that, an excuse. They can offer other steak sauces that are crafted by hand, but not Bernaise? Just be honest, if you're not going to offer it any longer, say so. Don't use Covid as an excuse.
Waited forever for the waitress to come to the table. Food arrived cold. Rest of experience there was ok.
Three horrible course experiences. First my date's old fashioned came cloudy and tasted funny. Never have seen a cloudy old fashioned in my life. The kind waiter asked if he wanted another and took it back and returned with something else as he didn't want that experience again. Also had to ask for cherries which should have been in it to begin with.
For appetizer my date had lobster bisque which was way too salty. The manager said yes they had run out of sherry to add to it. Without offering I HAD TO ASK for it to be taken of our bill.
Then for the main course my date who was paying was appalled that the $38 signature fish dish he ordered was tiny, thin and VERY DRY.It was only plated with a scoop of colorless rice. He said "this is awful I'll never come back here again". I shared my swordfish which was cooked well (also tiny for almost $40) but the rice was cold. By the time the poor waiter came back with more we were done with the fish. WAY OVERPRICED. The manager came over again but didn't want to hear it. He was arrogant "no one else has complained"--can you believe that?
Owned by Tilmann Fertitta they say the fish rots from the head down and this is why. Sysco food poorly cooked high prices. The waiter said he was planning on quitting too because the manager does not listen to wait staff or customers about complaints. That's the Fertitta culture BEWARE and go elsewhere with your hard earned dollars!!!
The view was spectacular, the food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and I can't wait to go back again. What else do you need in a restaurant?
Jen was our server and she was amazing. She had a great helper, which we found out later was the restaurant manager! When we see management out there helping their staff it really makes you love that restaurant even more and shows they really care!
The food and service was fantastic. We will definitely return soon
Restaurant is fantastic, BUT they are crowding the tables too close to each other. Covid 19 rules violation.
Tables for 4 were much too close to each other.
Bar had chairs 1 ft from next , bar tables on top of each other.
Much to close overall for fine restaurant.
We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and everything was perfect! Perfect table with a perfect view. Ivan was attentive and informative when it came to the menu. My husband had the grilled swordfish and I had the NY strip...amazing. Highly recommend.
Beautiful view, seated early, friendly and professional service. Excellent seafood.
Service was very poor. Our dinner came out at all different times. Would not recommend.
Great early menu. Friendly staff- lots of space to distance!
Great night !
Still very good food...View is spectacular ...service. Is outstanding...
Overall the restaurant was a wonderful experience. The food, ambience and experience was almost flawless. My only issue was, we called to request a window view. We were told the window view tables were at a first come first serve basis. When we got there, there was a big enough window view table available. I asked the hostess if we could be seated there and she advised the seat was empty due to social distancing. We were seated at a beautiful booth, but shortly after, a party of 3 were seated at the window table. the family was not social distancing so, not sure why we were refused. Would've loved to ask the manager but no one came to our table.
Great location, but sadly it looks dated inside. The food was marginal at best. Had an end cut of prime rib, 40% was fat. We supplemented with lobster tails that had been previously frozen.
The one shining part of the evening was the phenomenal service. But we won’t be back.
The Longboat Key Chart House has been open since...I can't remember. It's always been good, with great views. COVID dining has been challenging for every restaurant this year, and the Chart House came through during a brief respite away with my wife.
Last day of vacation meal
Sat outside and got absolutely eaten alive they need to invest in some sort of bug repelant system out there because I’m still
Dealing with bug bites welts all over my back and feet not happy. Ruined the whole over all experience.
So embarrassed to have taken a guest here to celebrate a birthday! Our party of 5 had 7:30 pm reservations. We ordered 2 appetizers, but were told that both were unavailable . Ordered a third appetizer, which was also out. The manger came to the table to apologize and suggested an alternate appetizer, which was one that we had originally ordered; we informed HIM that it was also unavailable. We then proceeded to order the prime rib entree.... but surprise, at 7:30 at night, it was already all gone, too. The manager then returned to tell us they had one left, so we could choose amongst ourselves who could have it. We then asked for our check (drinks only) and the manager told us he didn’t understand why we felt it best to leave. The waiter then blamed the new kitchen staff and new management for the situation. Get your act together, Chart House! ( and no, they didn’t comp our drinks or offer an apology). So embarrassed !
Was not good. Ran out of everything by 8 and the food was not good. King crab was blah for that money. Help was not friendly.
Sabrina was very attentive , pleasant , accommodating and efficient !
Wonderful meal with an outstanding view and great service. Perfect sunset dinner to celebrate my daughter’s 19th birthday.
