The maitre de at front desk was very welcoming, & our server, Christine was amazing!!! My app, the Brie/Fig/a toast was phenomenal!!! I would easily order as my main course as it was sooo filling!! The Key West Grouper w/sticky rice was fantastic, & the Callahan Cut Prime Rib was perfectly prepared!! AND of course the Lava Cake was to die for!!!!!

Set up a reservation 1 month in advance, for 8 people, so that I would be sure to get good seating. This was an 84th birthday so there were a few older people in our group as well as one handicapped person. I asked for a table by the window and they proceeded to explain, when we got there, that they could not put more than 6 people by the window but that we would still have a nice view. We let them know at that time that one person in our party was not coming so now we were 7. At the time of seating, they took us over to one of their round booths and we let them know that this was not a great table for us because of the older people and the one handicapped. If someone, sitting in the middle had to get out to go to bathroom or maybe wanted to get the salad bar, they would have a hard time because now the handicapped person on one end and the older people on the other end would have to get up to let the others out. 🤦‍♀️ So next, before we are sat down at a table we were not happy with, we look next to us, where there is an 8-top sitting there empty (probably was our original table) we asked if we could sit there instead. The host who was seating us said he would have to ask the manager. He then came back and said that the manager told him a party of 8 was coming in to sit there and that we could not. We sat there from 7-9:30 with an EMPTY table next to us the whole time. At the end, we asked what happened and the host told us that “they cancelled at the last minute”. So, now, REALLY!!?? We have come to Chart House, Longboat Key for several celebration dinners as well as almost every birthday in our family for the last 3 years. We LOVE the food, the view and have had some great servers (last night’s server was just ok). Having been in the restaurant business for 20 years of my life as well as personally, I find that the way we were treated was extremely disappointing and for the next birthday celebration, sadly we will go somewhere else.

Wishing chart house was what it use to be! Great enthusiastic nice waiter yet not trained in how to pour wine properly or serve with grace nuances…just train your people in fine dining its not that hard.,, prime ribs lovely yet cold…bottle Lucen cremant bubbles nice yet took forever for bar to get it to toe waiter …go for the view and enjoy being in a great spot and the rest just say its good just not great

Absolutely wonderful We enjoyed an early dinner on this occasion (4:15pm) and selected from the Early Dinner menu, which offers some great choices and absolutely outstanding value The service here is excellent, and the food is freshly cooked to order and prepared beautifully. Some of our favorites from this menu are the chopped salad, the chowder, the prime rib and the cedar plank salmon - but all the selections are good. We also like to add the Firecracker Shrimp as a 'beginning'. And of course the view from this restaurant is stunning. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation and in fact have just made our next reservation

Its was my birthsWe went for the early bird special. We had great portions of food. Salmon was especially great while everyone had the prime rib, which was hot and very tasty! We recommend this restaurant and the view of the bay was spectacular.

We went with friends that we have not seen in awhile . We all enjoyed our meals and the view was great . We preferred the seat by the window - it was good although not too quiet because kids got excited there. Overall we have kids and they were being quieted down.

The cedar plank salmon is delicious and so was the ice cream sundae was a really nice treat to end the meal. Beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico and our waiter was great.

Consistently great. Went for my birthday and they really went above and beyond to make me feel special. Literally from the minute we arrived. Our table was perfect, our server was amazing and the food was wonderful. Will be back soon!

We have high expectations of our food when coming to a restaurant the caliper of Chart House. The crab cake was mushy and not even edible, it was like eating mushy tuna fish from the can. The scallops were over seared and hard, sent them back, they came out again the exact same way, tasing like burnt flat top grill. Need to do some serious quality control before sending food out like this and asking for a high price.

I ordered the grouper and I could not even cut through it with a butter knife. I’ve never experienced anything like that. Everything was bland and no one at the table enjoyed the food. The view and service was great and thank goodness we ordered dessert because it was the only thing that tasted good.

Service was excellent. Ambiance was excellent. Food didn't match, and was mediocre. We both ordered an appetizer and a salmon entree. All of it was smothered in heavy sauces which overwhelmed the underlying flavors. The salmon fillets were improperly cooked - tough and overdone.

My wife and I celebrated our 24th Anniversary at Chart House. From the moment we were seated it was a great experience. They had printed Happy Anniversary on our menus which was a great touch. Genessis was a fantastic server. We were very well taken care of from start to finish. Thank you to the entire staff!

Put 6 st a table for 4. Although complained , about cramped space on table was told they have put 6 at this table before. Needless to say no room for wine and appetizer plate on table. Do not order Caesar salad… warm and limp greens. Also beware of prime rib. Ordered medium as told it would be pink. It was served well done; had returned. Quickly brought what I was told the rarest they had. Not pink at all. And not really sure it was 10oz. Very disappointed. They best part of meal was the Lava cake. For the money, not worth it. Do not plan to return. Note we had reservation for 8 people. But 2 were sick and could not make it. There is no excuse for cramming the 6 in at this small table!!!

The ratio Food/quality to price was very disappointing. Too expensive for what is served, our fish was very dry and did not taste good. Long waiting time. The ambiance is nice, and there staff tried hard, but there is something wrong in the system. Our waitress had to apologize for something every time she eventually came to our table. I will not go back.
