Excellent service from the host/reception to the excellent server. Food was great. This is a great facility
We love going to the Chart House. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff are friendly, and it seems that whenever we are there, we are totally catered to. And the food is delicious. I’ve never had a bad dish there.
This was my oir first time attending The Chart House and everything was excellent.
Food was quite good but a little pricey given the demographic. They tried to upsell everything and it came across very cheesy, like being in a TGI Fridays, rather than the upscale river experience it promised.
I went here for my birthday (with 7 friends) this past weekend and it was just ok. The view I don’t know if she was new or just not that good of a waitress. Lastly, the food was decent at best but certainly not worth the money. I most likely won’t be back!
It was our first time to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is classic Florida, and the menu typical of the area. We knew it must be good as soon as we walked in because the place was packed. Our meals were very good, as was the service. We are not fans of salad bars, so we passed on that option. We will go back sometime.
Pre theater meal. Burt was very aware of our time constraints to get to the theater on time.
Great food, wonderful evening
I purposely waited a couple days since dining to post this review so it wouldn't be just a knee jerk reaction. But here I am days later still very dissatisfied with our experience. My expectation when bringing our out of town guests to the Chart House was great food and service in a nice environment. The food and ambiance turned out fine, but service was another story. After being seated, we waited an inordinate length of time for initial service, and even longer for our food to finally be served. Still, a portion of our order came out well after the rest. All this despite stating up front that we had a concert to get to immediately after dinner. Our complaints made at the time gained us unwanted free desserts. So what! All in all, a very unsatisfying experience.
Wonderful dinner! Escargot was delicious!!
Always a nice meal!
except for the long wait for our reservation (at least 15 minutes) food and service with Vance was great
Reservation for early dinner before Celine Dion. We arrived at 4:30 when the restaurant was just opening, and ordered from the early dining menu. Salads, and then entrees took forever, my prime rib was bland. One person ordered fish and chips, the fish was over breaded, greasy and cold in the center. Dessert of creme brûlée never came. At an hour and forty minutes we demanded the check so we could go to our show. I would never eat here again.
The menu was limited and overpriced, need to add more items to the menu. Salad bar was the best part of the meal; nice variety of items. The food could have been a little more seasoned. The CH needs to update there reservation time to reflect the restaurant opening up at 5pm. The reservation system allowed me to get a 4:30pm reservation; we had to wait for setup to be complete.
Filet mignon was dry and had no taste.
Under staffed. Waited 2 for entree’s to arrive. No one from management came out to apologize.
57th wedding anniversary. We come to the Charthouse every year to celebrate that always a day before New Year’s Eve. The food was excellent service was good. Server was quite personable. Had plenty of time to sit and talk. Good view of the river although there was no river traffic tonight. All in all a very very nice experience
Best filet mignon and salad bar around. Awesome view of the river
The best prime rib ever and the server (Steve) provided outstanding service. The atmosphere overlooking the river was great and everything was the best dining experience we ever had!👍👍👍
We hadn’t been to the Chart House for quite some time. We received a gift certificate for Christmas so we used it for our usual dinner out over the holidays. Getting to the actual restaurant was quite a challenge. Pay very close attention to where the roads are curving. Otherwise, you end up at a dead end or a hotel. The service was okay. Why it took over 15 minutes to get a glass of wine and a beer was a little confusing since the place was practically empty. The food was okay, but nothing to bring us back unless we get another gift card. Their location on the river is still exceptional.
Food was very good, and salad bar is excellent. Only downside is that the tile floor is super slick -- I've been on ice skating rinks that had more traction! That is a slip-and-fall just waiting to happen. Rip out that tile and put down something that is safe for diners, or at least put some adhesives over the existing tile. Very dangerous.
The food was very tasty! Service was excellent! And, the window-side seat provided a view of the water. Well worth the reservation!
Lobster tail that was added to steak dinner had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Not worth the additional $30.00. I will be going to Ruth's Chris in the future. Also, service was not very good. Had to wait on refills, check, etc.
This was our first time here & so glad we chose Chart House. The food & service were outstanding. The restaurant itself is dated but unique. We had appetizers that included the crab cake & Ahi Tacos. Our entrees were the bronzed swordfish & coconut shrimp - highly recommend both. We also had the lava cake for dessert - it was good but wish it would have been bigger & had more lava. Our servers were Kelly & Heather - both were extremely personable & did a great job. Thanks for a nice Xmas/Birthday dinner for our family.
I have enjoyed many experiences here on different occasions due to fresh food done well and a great staff .
Excellent food and service. The place os just a little over priced and portions are a bit small. Menu has some great stuff, but lacks options.
Our server Steve was excellent. We were seated at a window table with a view of the river. The food was outstanding, the service excellent, and the atmosphere was elegant but inviting. Would definitely return and would highly recommend for romantic dinners, business dinners, special occasions and just a wonderful night out.
We got a nice window seat, our excellent server made some nice recommendations, the food was delicious, and the architecture and ambiance of the restaurant all made for a wonderful evening.
Food was okay, we’ve had much better quality and tasting food at many other places with better prices. We had to send one dish back because there was hair in it and when manager came out he was tripping over his words and didn’t even know what we had sent back or why. Won’t be going back.
Got a gift card that I had to use.
This was our first visit to Chart House Jacksonville and it won't be our last. Although the restaurant was very busy given the holiday season we had very good service. We ordered the swordfish and it was perfectly prepared, not dry or overcooked. Good wine list and proper wine service. Lovely rustic atmosphere on the St. Johns river.
Terrible! I made a reservation, was running 10 mins late (there was traffic diversion bc of a local run) and CALLED the restaurant and the hostess said no problem. We arrived and our table was given away. We waited for 40 mins, I went o hostess and she said table was getting up. Then they seat us at a table I had been look at for the whole time. It was a small round cocktail table set for 2, they added 2 chairs and sat 4 of us at it. It was in the walking path of the entire restaurant. Again it had been empty the entire time we were waiting and again it would barely hold 2 people.
Since we had to leave in 30 mins to catch a show, we ordered quick items: a Prosecco and a cpl appetizers and salad bar. The food came, dropped by a runner. Crab cake was under cooked and very mushy. Salad bar was mediocre at best and $17.50. The prepared salads were terrible. No meats to add to salad except anchovies. We didn’t see our server again and never received our drinks until we got up to walk over to pay. We had to walk to her to pay. Ridiculous!
It was a busy holiday Friday night, but don’t take so many reservations that you can’t seat them! Disgusted that they turned a fun evening into frustration and disappointment.
Truly will never go back to Charthouse.
Food was pretty good but much more expensive compared to similar restaurants. Service was great though and the ambiance was nice. It’s right at a 4 for me
A wonderful place to have an intimate dinner for two or ten. It was great to be able to converse with everyone in our group of five without shouting. Nice location overlooking the river and very good food. Overall an outstanding value.
Good place in Jax!
from the time we were seated at a table for 5, with the 5th chair in the aisle and the reservation was made 2 months ago!! They did give us another table with the 5th chair by the table that was slanted & she thought the food was going on her lap!! The food was not hot! One lady had to send her prime rib back twice.
The hostess forgot to bring us a booster seat and a kid’s menu. Weren’t told about different menu options that they had. Food was warm and not hot but was also lacking flavor. Waitress didn’t come back to check on us often.
I love this place the atmosphere and food service is wonderful
