Chart House was a nice little surprise. We went to a show at the Times Union and decided to try out Chart House for dinner. It was a nice little surprise. It has a different look from the outside, but we were able to get a window table overlooking the water. The service was great, and the food and cocktails were rather yummy as well. I would recommend not skipping dessert. It is well worth the extra calories.
Had a good meal with great view of the water. Service was great.
Beautiful place and atmosphere BUT way over priced for what you get. Also, restrooms were filthy. (That I won’t get into) Overall food taste/quality not bad, was more about value for your money. For example, I ordered a dish that said came with mushrooms and asparagus, well you needed a magnifying glass to find either in the meal. Found literally 2 half inch pieces of asparagus in the entire meal. My husband had same issue with his meal. He had steak Marsala and the flavor was there but had only 2 little dime sized sliced mushrooms in entire meal. These were both 30 dollar meals and didn’t come with any salad or soup, that was extra (8.50 extra) So if you want to try it, it’s not horrible, some meals are actually quite good, but be prepared to be disappointed with what you received verses what you paid, (oh, and use the bathroom before leaving home)
Excellent food, service and the river views are beautiful. Great wine list. Reasonable happy hour.
We enjoyed dining at The Chart House. The food and service were both outstanding. We will return the next time we’re in town.
Great atmosphere. If you aren't sure whether you want seafood or steak, dine here.
Had been a while since last visited, but the quality, service and selection have maintained a high standard. Enjoy a relaxed meal and an excellent view.
I went to Chart House in Jacksonville with my husband on a Wednesday evening. The salad bar was really good, great selection and very fresh. I had the chef special mahi which had a cucumber feta sauce-so amazingly great! My husband got the mahi off of the menu, he said it was OK. I thought the view was amazing. The bar staff and our waitress were wonderful. The prices were a little high.
We had dinner at this restaurant on Saturday night. The restaurant is beautiful and the location and view are nice. Our server, Chris was very attentive. The food was very much overpriced to be flavorless. The best part of the meal was the bread and butter. Our steak was burned and was still at a price of $50. We will not be going back here again.
Do not use the directions link in open table as it will take you to a location 30 minutes away from the restaurant. Luckily they still accommodated us 30 minutes late.
Generally good attention from the server and the staff was very nice With us.
We were there for the happy and we appreciate the good selection items drinks and food.
Overall it was very good and we will back next year.
We plan to go to the Chart House Daytona Beach in the next few Days.
good dinning experience food was had no flavor and was not worth 35$ a plate. prices are way to high for the quality of food.
Food was great as always. Always nice touches with the atmosphere and food. The service was really lacking. Our waitress let our drinks stay empty too long. The only way to justify the expense is for service to be impeccable. It fell drastically short this turn. The drinks were amazing, especially the Mole Mole Mole. Food was good. Overall a good experience but the service could have made it excellent.
I mentioned to the hostess that this was a VIP business meeting and asked for a special presentation for an appetizer. They far exceeded my expectations and my client was absolutely impressed. The service was top notch from beginning to end.
Always enjoy restaurant. We have been going there for the past 33 years. Food has always been excellent,
Way overpriced. Shocked that they charged for each refill of soda without asking if we wanted refills and without explaining the costs. Would not permit our guest to get a starter and have access to the salad bar- required her to get an entire of the starter in order to have access to the salad bar or get the salad bar as their entree. Overall just felt ripped off. Such a pity because we live close and would be frequent diners if they were a better value.
The food wasn't very flavorful and my steak was overcooked. The gazpacho was pretty much a salsa but with less flavor. Our waiter hovered over our table a little to long at times and when asked questions about menu items the description he gave wasn't much more in depth the the menu read. The first course wasn't cleared before the second course and the second wasn't cleared before the third. The drinks we had were priced slighty high for the quality( martini was warm). I expected alot more for the money they charge. Will not return.
Awesome salad bar and their seafood is fresh. Good prime rib, too! Lava cake dessert is delicious!
The decor and ambience was great--need a bigger bar for waiting for reservation. Speaking of that--made one on line the night after V Day so would be no problem. Got there early for drinks at the bar but couldn't get the hostess to tell us when we could be seated. It took stern talking to the manager. But service after was good.
Great Birthday Dinner! Lava cake was wonderful as always ❤️
Waiter Kyle did a great job
Never has to ask for anything, was helpful with menu items, best waiter we’ve had in a very long time
Restaurant itself was kind over priced for the food , but service made up for it
The food and service was excellent and the view of the river exceptional
We always enjoy dining at the Chart House, and have never had a bad experience. The food is always great, and the service is equally good. We had the pleasure this visit of having Bri take care of us. She's one of the best we've had.
Food was excellent but the menu was limited since it was Valentines Day. Of course my favorite was not available. I got the filet instead and it was great.
The salad bar did not have a lot of options. My dish was overcooked and my husbands was cold. They fixed it but it was unfortunate.
My friends and I were really looking forward to a wonderful meal here. Sadly, this was not the case. My 3 shrimp were tough & 3 undersized scallops were dry. There was a noticeable lack of butter so I had to rely on salt for any flavoring at all. The same for my husband who ordered the fillet mignon. Not flavorful and not hot. I ordered the salad bar and it's a good thing because due to the small portions, I would have left hungry had I not. The service was fine but not stellar. Our server was very personable but I had to request a beverage refill and my husbands request for a napkin was forgotten / ignored. I requested a window seat with a water view and was told that "all of our seats have a water view." Funny that my back was to the water the entire meal. Considering the prices for this rip off meal, I had high expectations and left very disappointed.
Wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious!
Always a pleasant experience. One of my favorite restaurants. Great and varied menu.
Manager and wait staff are tops!
Anniversary dinner. Rachel was our server. Very knowledgeable and very personable. Food was fabulous. We will definitely be back.
It frustrates the crap out of me that a premium resturant on waterfront setting does not keep the windows clean. After all much of this resturants ambience centers on the waterside view. I don’t care what the excuses are..this is my 2nd visit in nearly 12 months apart and the same look. If you can’t clean them, tint them very dark!!
This was our first visit to Chart House Restaurant and we were all very impressed. The service, and meal were excellent. The Chart House will definitely be on our rotation list.
Very disappointed with the slow service. We were seated at 5:40, salads were delivered to our table at 6:15 and entrees didn't come until after 7. Another table in our area was seated well after us and paid their bill and left before our entrees were delivered. The manager was unconcerned with the slow service. Although the food and the view were lovely, definitely not worth the price due to the service. Doubtful we will go back.
Took my daughter for early Valentine dinner - fabulous from start to finish
The lava cake is a must ! Heads up you must tell server ahead - takes 25 min as they bake as ordered .
My husband and I have been going to this restaurant every week for our Friday night date the food is always good they treat us well an it is relaxing on the river the desserts are delicious
My family and I really enjoy celebrating my birthday at Charthouse on Friday. Even though we had an additional person attend at the last minute we were accommodated with no issues.
Was concerned after reading some recent reviews, but found food was good, service and ambience excellent.
Our server Burt was great, very knowledgeable and very pleasant. The only negative we would say is that the food tends to be under-seasoned. The food was served at the right temperature, it looked great, but unfortunately needed a bit more in the flavor department.
Our server, Vance, was there when we needed him and very professional. The food was excellent, as was our table along the windows with a river view. The meal was served timely.
Loved it favorite restaurant in Jax
The Chart House has been a part of my culinary experience for many years. While in high school and college, I worked at the Chart House in Melbourne, Florida in the front of the house and back of the house. My brother worked there also, achieving head waiter and trainer status. I know the standards of the Chart House for food and service well.
We went to the Chart House for our anniversary. I love the uniqueness of the Jacksonville location so the ambiance was great. The personalized menus were a great touch. What was lacking was the service. Our server was very nice but she lost our drink order, was slow in the sense that it took a long time for her to come by to take our food orders and left empty plates on the table way too long. She was apologetic and admitted she had only been there a couple of weeks. It seemed like she was assigned tables which were too far away from each other for such a new server. If her tables were closer to each other, it would be easier for her to keep track of them until she was more seasoned.
Speaking of seasoning, the food was outstanding. The kimchee calamari was awesome. I always enjoy the salad bar except the spinach leaves looked wilty so I skipped those. I like the kale califlower salad a lot. The prime rib was great, tender and flavorful. The chocolate lava was of course to die for. So overall, the dinner was a great experience and I would definitely go back, even if it was for drinks and that calamari again!
