Could have had better table with our early reservation. Had to ask for steak knife. Also, took my only knife without replacing. Otherwise good service.
Great food, from appetizers to desert!!
Service was slow. It took 10 minutes for us to be greeted by our server. We ordered everything when they greeted us. It was another 25 minutes before we had our drinks from the bar. So were were sitting at the table for 30+ minutes with no drinks. Food was similarly slow coming out. They brought us 3 of our 4 meals, but after five minutes of us all waiting, we finally had to ask them to go and find the meal for my son. Very strange.
Unfortunately they were understaffed and we didn’t get our drinks until after our apps and salads, right before the entree. The waiter was great in the face of adversity but my steak was medium well instead of medium rare. Overall, not happy but I would give it another try under different circumstances.
Service was great - length of time between courses was good as it allowed the four of us to enjoy the meal and have time for conversation. Great value with the "early bird" menu.
Nice to sit with a view of the river. Food was great!
The absolute worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Arrived at 6:45 for 7:00 reservation, and weren’t seated until after 8:00 (unfortunately not unique for us; everyone waited AT LEAST 1/2 hour- 1 hour after their reservation times). Once seated, we ordered drinks, appetizer, soups, and entrees all together to hopefully minimize further wait time. We were disappointed to hear the restaurant was out of the appetizer we selected, but chose an alternative. Around 45 minutes later, our server regretfully informed us they had also run out of mahi (entrees we both ordered) and grouper, so again we had to select something else off the menu. About 15 minutes later, she came back again to let us know they were out of everything except salmon! Even after running out of everything but one item, they continued to seat new tables. It’s ridiculous the shortage happened at all, but especially frustrating since we would have had options if we were seated on time.
The food was good, but nowhere near worth the 3 hours we spent there, price, or general frustration of the poorly managed establishment.
The only bright spot of our experience was our server, Savanna, who was outstanding! In spite of it also being a terrible night for the servers, with a restaurant overflowing with angry customers, she remained polite and professional, and delivered excellent service!
I took my wife here for her birthday, on a Sunday, and we were very disappointed. We arrived 5 minutes late for our reservation (there was actually a train) and we were seated 25 minutes after our arrival. 20 minutes after being seated, our waitress came over and took drink orders. The drinks came 30 minutes after that. Thankfully we got our water a couple minutes before that... Food wasn't fantastic by any means, especially for the price. My wife go the seafood trio (I believe that is what is was called) and her shrimp was very chewy. We wanted to get the Lava cake for dessert but since we had already been there for 2.5 hours, we decided to cancel our order. They appeared severely under-staffed. We only saw 3-ish waiters/waitresses and there were multiple open tables. We witnessed at least 2 groups get up and leave since they had been sitting for an extended period of time without service. Although the views and ambiance were otherwise good, it was definitely not worth it.
We had a reservation for 6:30 and got seated at 7:45 on 9/10/21. We ordered drinks and ordered food as soon as we were able. Three drinks came, but one took thirty minutes. The food took an hour and when we got it all of it was over cooked, dry and tough. We did not eat till about 9:00. Our bill was about $200. It was the worst dining experience we have had in a LONG time. For that much money, it should have been excellent. We had not been there in a long time and won’t be back.
Waited 30 minutes past reservation time to be seated. Then it took 3 hours for dinner service - at one point apps came out and our waiter tried to pull them away while we were eating them to give to another table! The fish was so over cooked it was rubbery, but I kept mine because it had taken so long to arrive. My husbands arrived 20 minutes after everyone else’s meal and his was so over cooked it was inedible. The waiter forgot to put in the dessert order, so that added to the wait time. There were no apologies and just staff complaining about how busy they were due to Hamilton and jags game. We will not go back.
It was extremely cold. We sat by window and cold air was pouring out of vent. Good was excellent but it took a long time for my husband to get his drink as it appeared slog of Jaguar fans were there
Had reservation and had to wait 25 minutes before we were seated. Atmosphere is nice, service was extra slow. Took over an hour to get our meal, too long…to be fair the place was surprisingly busy. Food was good, but not great. Expected better the the price. We may have caught a bad night, it was interesting enough to give it another try; which we will do. It’s a unique restaurant with a good menu and a solid wine list.
Oysters were really good. Grouper was overcooked-reminded me of a chicken breast. View was nice.
This was our first experience at Chart House. The food was good (not exceptional) but the service was great. I have always heard great things about Chart House so I am not sure our experience was the norm. I ordered filet mignon medium and my husband ordered trout. My steak was slightly overcooked with little flavor but his fish was prepared well. Our reservations were early and there were plenty of open tables but they sat us at a table with an obstructed view of a large pillar (inside) and our backs to the water view. Overall, the experience was comparable to a less expensive chain restaurant. We are hoping that our experience was an exception and not the norm.
Ordered a medium filet mignon, it came out raw in the middle, when i sent it back it came out well done. Lava cake was pretty dry. Overall not amazing and personally not worth the price.
Amazing experience. 10/10.
Another great experience! The staff was on point and the food was perfectly prepared. Our waitress was prompt with drinks. And she even made some fantastic menu suggestions.
The restaurant was able to honor my dining requests, and seated us in a romantic section that overlooked the water.
Their calamari is among the best I’ve ever tasted. The prime rib was perfectly prepared. The grouper with mango sticky rice is gastronomic adventure. It has just enough spice for the sweet rice to balance the dish.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience for a special occasion.
First class pricing for third class cuisine. Don’t fall for Landry’s Select Club. More exceptions and gotchas than a used car contract.
We came before a show at Dailey's, so early 5:45 reservation Had a wonderful table by a window on the water. Our server Dillon was attentive and friendly. Salads were a generous size. Miso salmon dinner was wonderful, good sized pieces of salmon. Ahi dinner with wasabi cream was good, not great. Not the best cuts of ahi, and I was hoping for a little more bite out of the wasabi cream. A side of mashed potatoes was a good size, but ala carte'. Key lime pie for dessert was good, but no graham cracker crust, very generous portion. Great wine list by the bottle, but could use a few more by the glass options. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.
It was our anniversary and the staff did an excellent job in welcoming us and attending to us throughout our stay
The foot was excellent, from the chowder, salad, prime rib, coupler, to the banana split
Excellent dining experience, we will be bacl
the lobster and fish were a little overcooked and they forgot to give me the potatoes with the lobster.
Rachel provided outstanding service
Happy Hour is something to savor. Delicious prime rib sliders, a glass of wine for the birthday girl, and me her friend a prickly pear drink.
Dinner, equally delightful Hawaiian Steak dish, and ending Mud Pie. I almost forgot, we ordered the fried green tomatoes were fantastic. Our service was spot on and we left with plenty of leftovers.
The manager Adam was great I left my Credit card didn’t notice till I got to show and when I called he said he hold it to I finished the Show at times Union- and met me outside after closing- he let me enjoy the show and not have to rush back - I really appreciated him - thank you again Adam
I’m from northern Virginia and live currently in Saint Augustine. The only thing I can compare Chart House to is Ruths Chris. Although the food was good, it was not hot when it came out and service definitely needs to be improved. Based on my comparison of the two places, I was not impressed with Chart House. When you pay that much money for a meal, I expect excellent service and that did not happen.
First experience at Chart House was excellent. The setting was great along with the river view when you get a seat close or next to the windows. The food was a 8.5 out of 10 at least what I ate. I love the variant of food & dessert selections. For a wonderful date night or just to treat yourself Chart House is a place to visit!
It was our 11 year wedding anniversary. I’m the complimentary menus with our name on them were a nice touch, but that’s the extent of special occasions. The waiter was trolling us as we were walking up to the restaurant. We were going to take a photo and he barged through it apologizing. He then joked asking how our photo went after realizing he was our waiter when we were seated. They didn’t have the 60th anniversary Prosecco -which I believe should be marked as “out of stock” or removed from the menus, so I ordered a Blue Moon which was cloudy and tasted awful. It already took 20 minutes for drinks so I just took it up to the bar myself since the waiter was assisting and providing drinks to those that were seated after us. The Teriyaki NY Strip is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, it was jus unpleasant that I wanted to take a picture of the Chef’s work (the steak) and again, the waiter comes up behind me asking if I got a good picture.
Our experience was great Dylan our server was excellent... Will be back alot. Mark the manager was also very helpful. Loved the experience
Food was amazing. I loved the aesthetics & the view by the river. Our waiter Chris was phenomenal & always checked on us.
I was there celebrating my birthday & using my $25 Landry's Birthday Reward. There were 5 of us (all adults). We've been there before but not since 2019. All meals were delicious including the 2 appetizers & bar beverages.
Server, Vance, was attentive, professional & courteous.
The big disappointment was that the salad bar was not available (which was a fave). Please bring the salad bar back.
My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here. The service was great and so was the food. All in all we had very pleasant and relaxed meal. This was a mid week dinner (Wednesday), so I can imagine the crowd was a little light compared to a Friday or Saturday night. I would definitely recommend the Chart House to anyone and we’ll certainly be back to try other dishes.
Service was too slow to recommend, especially for the prices.
They had put a new item on the menu that's absolutely horrible it's a teriyaki top sirloin thank God I added shrimp.. I tried to suffer through the meat and a noooo taste it was like rubber It had no flavor I wound up packing it up to take to my dogs thank God I ordered a side of shrimp otherwise I would've had a whole lot to eat the fingerling potatoes were tasteless
Awesome wouldn’t change a thing.
It’s been years since visiting The Chart House in Jacksonville on the beautiful riverfront. The restaurant’s architecture is stunning. Our host brought us down the easy curved ramp with pillars on either side that look like huge mushroom! Frank Lloyd Wright could have built this place. Our table was right next to the window with a view of the river. The food and service were top notch and flavors of everything seems to be the best I can remember.
I am usually very low key about dining experiences with the exception of the actual food quality. I haven’t been to the Chart House in about 30 years since prom night in high school. I was curious about returning recently because I am part of a Facebook foodie group and I had seen several rave reviews about the Chart House and last week was my Mother in Law’s 81st birthday so I thought that this would be a perfect time to try it again.
Our first impression was very very good. Our table has an amazing view of the river, the ambience is so beautiful and the decor is unique and really something. I love that it is so far from what any chain restaurant would look like and feel like.
We all really enjoyed the appetizers and drinks. The jalapeño garlic bread and Kim chee calamari were both very tasty.
That’s when everything came to a screeching halt and so so disappointingly. Our reservations were at 6:30. We did not get our entrees until 8:05. We were a party of 5, none of us ordered anything off menu or to be specially cooked. The tables to the left and right of us were both seated after us and both were asking for boxes for their leftover and ordering desserts and yet we still had not gotten our entrees. Might I add, both the tables on either side of us had ordered the same entrees we had. We were not given updates on our orders while we waited .
After we finally received our food, none of us were particularly blown away by the quality and I can’t be entirely sure that wasn’t influenced by the long wait time.
Nonetheless we all completed our meals (we never complained nor treated the wait staff rudely), we waited for our desserts. And while our server knew that it was my mother in law’s bday, she did not add a candle to her dessert like three tables had had next to us that were also celebrating birthdays. That was deflating and the sad end to a disappointing dinner that had started out so well. We left the restaurant at 9:00. Our reservation was at 6:30.
Dinner before play food is always excellent great view classic
We had an amazing experience . I would recommend the Chart House to all of my friends. They went above and beyond my expectations .
Food was great but the service was the best. Vance is awesome!!!
My parents took me and my husband here for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the view of the river was beautiful. They even put a “happy anniversary” message on our menus! The service was good, though quite slow considering there was hardly anyone else there. But I suppose that’s to be expected, given the staffing shortage. Overall, though, it was a great experience!
