Chart House Restaurant - Ft. Lauderdale - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
In Ft Lauderdale on vacation, bad experience, reservation for 7:00 P.M. not crowded at all, not seated until 7:15 P.M. no explanation. When food finally came after 30 minutes, my grouper was raw on the end, it was a great piece of fish till that point. Mngr did not seem too excited about the situation. The wine and the waiter were great.
Was very disappointed this time at Chart House. We have been hear before to Fort Lauderdale and Weehawken locations. We had checked the menu before going, this time, to Fort Lauderdale location to see if Shrimp Fresca was on the menu.. My husband had ordered Shrimp Fresca a few years back at this location and he loved it and was hoping to order it again this time. He was extremely disappointed that when we got there, it wasn't on the menu. When we asked about it, our server (after checking with a manager) claims that is a general menu on line and not for all the locations. She also told us that Fort Lauderdale location never had this on their menu. Just letting you know it had been on the menu there in the past since my husband has ordered it there. Very disappointed since he went there the other night (3/3/17) just to have this meal.
Went out to celebrate my spouse's birthday. Made reservations a day before. Came to the restaurant, only for the table to not be ready. Waited about 45mins for the table to be ready/seated. The manager blamed the wait time on not having enough of servers that evening. Had to wait on bread. Couldn't not order the prime rib because they were out of them. Rice was undercooked. Everything was just horrible that night at this restaurant. Great scenery (waterfront view). Will not visit or recommend this location.
Ordered two tanguray and tonics with lime, got the gin and a lime, sent the waitress back, got tonic added, but no ice, tried again and got five little cubes. Asked for the manager to get this resolved finally. Our stuffed shrimp and lobster tail dinners were great, topped off by the molten lava cake.
The waitress and bartender should be sent for more training.
This was extremely disappointing. The service was beyond terrible The waitress was inexperienced, the service was SLOW and the food was just adequate. We have been to many Chart House Restaurants; we have always been pleased by our experience at these restaurants. This one does not deserve to be part of this chain. While the manager tried to make up for it by taking some items off the bill, and she was very apologetic, a TWO HOUR meal that was just so so is inexcusable and is inconsiderate of our time.
Service (eventually) was great, food was outstanding but quite expensive. Problem here, is that I had made a reservation on-line and it was obvious they had not checked their on-line reservations, they had no idea who I was. I had specifically mentioned that as a party of 2 (birthday) we wanted a direct west facing water view & to sit by the water, but they attempted to seat us in a side table against the wall with no view at all. They agreed to sit us by the water (there were SEVERAL tables available) but told us they were waiting for another server....we agreed to a reasonable wait but I think a 30 minute wait to get served was unacceptable and our martini's took another 15 minutes to get to the table. After that, it went extremely well and as noted, food & service were what we expected. I would have to seriously re-think going back but will give it another try.
This was a very nice outing for my birthday. We couldn't have chosen a more relaxing environment to have conversation. Our main thing we wanted was to be able to catch up on what our lives were like over the past years and the atmosphere allowed us to do just that.
Everything was nice. And, the food was really worth the drive from West Park.
We dined at Chart House on a Monday night. Business was slow and we were given a table with a wonderful view. Without being asked, we were seated outdoors, enabling us to enjoy the Intracoastal waterway, boats, and nearby homes. Apart from the food, this singular point is the main reason to go to the Chart House.
The Kim Chee Calamari appetizer was excellent; well seasoned without being spicy. My order of scallops and shrimp was good except for the shrimp. They were rock hard and far over-cooked. When the waiter realized I didn't consume them, he asked why and I explained it to him. I expected the manager to either replace them or reduce the cost of my meal.
Meal service was reasonable despite our waiter's apparent lack of knowledge about a drink order and lack of experience in a nicer-dining venue. That said, he definitely did his best and we need to have patience with those who are learning.
The fruit crisp served with vanilla ice cream took about 25 minutes instead of the eight, as we'd been told. Had we known, we'd have skipped it. The coffee was tepid--both cups and the water for the tea was insufficiently heated. By the way, if it matters to you, there is no demararra sugar for the coffee.
Despite my negative comments, we like Chart House's ambiance and mostly good menu offerings.
A Relaxing Place on the Water. Great fun place to go to and enjoy a social meal with friends and family. Very much enjoyed the service and attention we received at dinner. Very good staff and
very personable and helpful. It's a favorite of ours and when we can get away we go to the Chart House.
Requested of Maitre d waterside table but seated elsewhere due to "staffing stretched too thin" 15 min later party of 4 seated waterside! Informed my overworked and overwhelmed waitress of my displeasure; informed out of her hands Assume because dining alone and not because I'm a minority
Service was unacceptably slow not only for myself but also my mothers group of 21 women who had reserved seating for their meeting. (My waitress was covering several tables outside as well as my mothers meeting!)Service was so slow that several drinks were ordered, never delivered ,but still charged to the master bill. Diners were tired of waiting and just left without receiving requested drinks
Service problems reflect mismanagement not the efforts of the wait staff and kitchen!
the food was good. The service, very good. We go mostly for the view. It is a chain restaurant, but upscale. The servers tend to push appetizers and desserts, but I am sure they are trained to do so. They tend to have the "my personal favorites are the..."line. That being said, our server was very good and attentive.
Disorganization off the charts. Arrived at the restaurant at appointed time; host, customer and witness in a chat; 5 minutes later looks up.. See you in a minute and disappears. Restaurant is empty. Returns and inquires inside or out. Seats us next to the only large party in an empty room!
Excellent waitress. Decent food but no Chipotle biscuits after 3 tries. Short ribs fine, baked shrimp fine. Conversation great Get check. Try to find changes for Valet. No manager at bar and needed to get cash. :10 minutes say forget it to bar people. Valet. Front driveway blocked by massive cab truck. 4 parties waiting as it is 930 near closing and one exhausted valet who has to go around the giant truck, get the car, back it close to the portico, go around truck for next keys etc. Almost a comedy but not for so called fine dining. Lousy experience.
Need more and better trained front staff and better Sunday PM manager.
First time at this restaurant I was impressed of the atmosphere the Cozy surrounding went for Valentines enjoyed the appetizer wasn't pleased with my entree I ordered filet mignon didn't look like filet mignon just look like a piece of steak wasnt big as I thought wasn't worth the price . everything else was good
