Chart House Restaurant - Daytona Beach

Although the flavor of the food was outstanding--quantity vs value was very poor. Way over priced. The salad bar was equal to a Sonny,s BBQ--way over priced for the limited items. First time at a restaurant where the dessert was put in a box to take home-- the dessert was ice cream!! Come on, it's Florida in the summer and ice cream was put in a box??!!
We enjoyed our dinner. The food and ambiance were good, but it was Seth, our server, who made the night for us. He is a treasure!
Outstanding meal and service.....would recommend Resturant to everyone
The food is always delicious at the Chart House. Ingredients were fresh. Was a little disappointed that they had run out of the fish I originally ordered but were able to substitute another fish in the same preparation. The service was slower than needed for a relaxing dinner and it takes a long time to get a cocktail. I think it’s because the bar is downstairs and the servers must go down and bring them up.
Server was inexperienced and slow. Bill was screwed up at the bar and then transferred to table but never corrected. Manager had to be called.
This Chart House is not properly managed poor customer service from a few bartenders and waiters. Going down hill
Best meal I have had in a long time. The flavors were sumptuous and service impeccable. Salad bar to die for. An absolute must!
Mother’s Day. Slammed
Service slipped. Food good but small portions. Great view.
Stuffed flounder had no flavor, chicken was dry...but Mother had some kind of coconut shrimp and pasta which was very good.
Corey was an excellent waiter as he took Moms plate back to keep warm while she was in the restroom. Then he led her back to our table as she (88 years old) got lost and was roaming the other side of the restaurant. He was very pleasant, always smiling and attentive.
The place is really beautiful. Love the decor and the ambiance. The Caesar salad is the best I’ve ever had! Love the salad bar.
The food is fresh and love the service how we were catered to. Will definitely be back.
Very good venue with some nice water views if you're seated along the windows facing east or south. The service was excellent and overall a good place to share fine cuisine. The salad bar area is superb. Food didn't come out piping hot as it should have but over all a very nice meal. I prefer it for their early evening and happy hour menu but will also venture during normal dining hours. A good place to return to.
Ambiance is great, service terrible. We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive. Waiter never once checked on us or advised us of the delay. We will never come back.
Wow. I can’t wait to tell you what happened here. 1st of all the reservation was late. I’m never late and I expect the same thing. Second there is NO valet. This place serves way to many people. No parking. I had to park in the road with my 150,000 dollar car. We sat waiting on our table while they tried to sit 4 different people at the same table they tried to sit my family at. No one would sit there so why so I. Here is where it gets good...... I happened to walk up to complain about the table being late and over heard the host state to the GM that they have tried to sit several people at the table just behind the host table and no one would sit there. I promise you the guy said “ oh yes they will” lol. I was one of those people. As a man, this won’t fly right? I volunteered so info like “I Can tell you I won’t sit there.” “I tell you what. Sit me there and I’ll review the hell out of this dump. “ it kept on hacking at me like he has something I need to listen to. Until he said and I quote “ I’m trying not to get mad here” sooooooo what happens when you get mad brother? Nothing was said after that. We finally got a seat. They have 4 Bourbon bottles to choose from. The best being about 18 dollars at Walgreens. They messed up my wife’s order aaaannnddd I have to have the idiot GM cash me out because the server became MIA. What a dump!
Beautiful location, the food was delicious. Service was a 10 plus. We will be going back in June.
They were very busy we had reservations which I love. They did seem to have trouble keeping the salad bar full and I wish more of the items had been identified. The stuffed shrimp will be my order next time.
Food was delicious. Overall ambiance had a great feel. Poor service with little support staff for such a high end restaurant and price. Y
Arrived for a 4:45 reservation early and then stood around for almost a half an hour. Mind you, the restaurant opens at 4:30. The gentleman that runs the front of the restaurant is indifferent at best. Food was ok. Setting is Chart House lovely. Had a wonderful waiter. Drinks were flavorful, but extremely weak.
If you choose another place, you may well be better off.
Not an experience that is worthy of nearly fine dining from an epicurean point of view, and certainly lacking in service and grace in the front of the house.
View was great. Service was terrible. Had Corey as our waiter. Seemed arrogant yet was incompetent. Never brought my daughter her tea. My drink glass stayed empty for over 20 minutes without being refilled. When the food came, my fish along with my daughters and son in laws were all dry. When the manager was make his perfunctory rounds and asked how dinner was and I told him that the fish was actually dry. His response was to say I’ll tell the chef thanks In my opinion not exactly taking care of the customer. In any case overall the whole experience was very disappointing
The wait for entrees to come out was a little excessive. This wasn’t the case on previous visits so possibly just a one off? The swordfish was superb the Salmon could have been better but all in all we enjoyed the experience.
Amazing food and atmosphere!
We arrived on a Saturday at 6pm, to celebrate a birthday. We were seated pretty fast, but our server took a while to make his way over. The tables are quite close, and we were both almost touching our neighbours and had the server station literally right on top of us.
Our server was very good. He cleared off the extra settings, got our orders, and listened patiently to our story about no-carb diet. Then he offered us the bread basket. Then be brought me a spinach salad that was so sweet it was basically candy. And brought my hustand an undercooked steak with a side of mashed potatos. We again told him about our no-carb diet, and requested a non-sweet dressing, and some spinach sauteed with garlic and oil, to replace the mashed potaoes. We got back a slightly overcooked steak, a dish of sauteed spinach with lemon, and a plate of chopped spinach with oil and vinegar and nothing else. No mushrooms, no eggs, no radishes.. LITERALLY JUST CHOPPED SPINACH IN A BOWL. The steak was still quite good, and the coffee we ordered after was absolutely fantastic. I guess the main takeaway is: stay away from the spinach and it’ll be fine?
Herb crusted salmon and NY strip steak were excellent. Cheesecake, too. We found the amount of time it took to get our food a bit long.
asked for 2 different appetizer on menu and were not available. food taste was terrible. service great. overall overpriced for the value and my expectations were totally crushed
Food was great but unfortunately our waitress was sloppy and didn’t listen very well.
Service started out great but as the meal went on we saw less and less of them. We had a party of ten for my sons college graduation. $140 tip (20%) was a lot of money for just so-so service. The food was wonderful and the views were beautiful.
Everything was wondering!! Service was great!! Can't wait for my next vacation
As usual, the chart house does not disappoint in food or service. The atmosphere was great, you do not hear other table’s conversations.
Service was great. Molly was very attentive and professional. Food on the other hand was well below average. We had gone there a few weeks ago and got the best prime rib ever. This night we were not so lucky. Me and my wife ordered the large prime rib. Mine medium rare and my wife’s medium. My mother in law ordered the small prime rib medium rare. My wife got a chopped salad. The salad was the best part of the meal. I was very large and we all three had some of it. It was great. When the prime rib arrived the server (not the waitress Molly) had no idea who ordered what. He gave my wife the small prime rib you could not tell a difference in my med rare and my wife’s med. No one new for sure who’s was who. The service had no clue either so he went and got Molly. Molly sorted it out and noticed the two large prime ribs were cooked the same, med rare. So she took my wife’s back to the kitchen to be cooked longer. Hers came back out and was fine. Me and my mother in laws prime rib and baked potato was just barely warm. They offered to reheat them but I know that would then make the prime rib med, not med rare and dry them out. We just ate them as they were. The manager did come over and asked if there was anything they could do and he was very nice. I told him I just wanted to let him know so he could tell the chef. I didn’t expect anything in return. When we received the bill they had removed the large prime rib from the bill. So to sum it up, service was awesome. Molly and the manager did a great job. Food was just not that good for the price being paid.
Service and food are always excellent. enjoyed our tome there very much
Very nice experience overall, however, some very loud people came in near end which did impact experience.
Usually we love chart house but the service our last experience was sub par
Enjoyed the food and service and there was a view of the water that made it interesting!
My husband and I were on vacation and had heard lovely things about this restaurant. We made reservations weeks in advance for a date night.
Our server seemed qualified enough. Forgot the coke I asked for. Reminded him and he brought me a Diet Coke.
We began with the tuna appetizer (tartare, tacos...) which was good. It was all downhill from there.
My husband got the grilled haddock. It was overdone. My chart house cut prime rib was very tough and lacked any flavor. The mashed potatoes were excellent.
We had pre-ordered dessert prior to eating. However, it didn’t appear until at least 20 minutes after our dinner plates had been cleared. The entire meal seemed to lag.
Overall, the experience wasn’t the high-end dinner we were hoping for. The view from our table was pleasant, but the tables were very close together and the atmosphere was stiff. We certainly wouldn’t come back for the food.
My wife and I frequent your restaurant once every three months and never had a bad experience. My wife just loves the whole experience and I do too. We hope to see you guys soon. If it was up to my wife we would be joining you guys every week unfortunately that is unrealistic. We however brag about your establishment whenever possible. Once again thanks for the good memories.
Our service was very good. Chris was friendly and treated us well. The food was just ok.
My husband had a chocolate bourbon drink that he liked very well. He actually had a second after dinner. I had a mango monitor. It was ok-really sweet but tasty.
We had escargot. It was ok. Boursin overpowers and mushroom was second. Tasted more like Boursin stuffed mushrooms with butter.
I ordered chopped salad. It was wilted and garlic-y. Not sure if that is how it supposed to be but it was again just ok.
I had king crab legs. They were cooked perfect and easily slid out of shells. However they were SO salty, there was no sweet taste of crab, just salt.
My husband ordered 9 oz filet medium, Oscar style. It was cooked a little underdone but not much. Again the lump carb on top with the Bernard sauce was very salty.
We had a bottle of Hess cab. The cork was not wet or red at all but the wine was good.
We finished with the molten lava cake-delish.
Altogether we were there 3 hours. Pace was slow but we were celebrating 10 yr anniversary.
Again, our server was very nice. .
We enjoyed our evening very much. The martinis were good with a hefty shot of vodka. We got the grouper and snapper and both were perfectly cooked and delicious. Got sides of asparagus and spinach. Also good. It's a little pricey with everything being a la carte even the salad, so I would only come on a special occasion.
Returning customer. Satisfied with service. Very nice view of sunset and ocean in background. Already made future reservation
We arrived at 7:00. Had to wait 15 minutes. After ordering, we were told they were out of our appetizer. I ordered snapper and it was thin and over cooked- inedible.
Dynamite Mahi was a bust. Crab topping we are still searching for it.
Wonderful Easter dinner! Great service! Enjoyed the food!
Shrimp Cocktail was a beautiful presentation but cocktail sauce was so spicy that it was inedible.
Shrimp dish with angel hair pasta was substituted with linguini without letting me know beforehand.
