Chart House Restaurant - Daytona Beach Ratings and Reviews
Well after many times of dinning here and having good and not so good meals we have decided to not go back after our last visit. As I was eating an apptizer I bit into something I thought was plactic or glass about the size of a bb...the GM comes ove and looks at the item, takes it to the chef and returns and assures me its "rock salt" I didnt eat another bite of the app and went on to finish my meal. We were shocked that the app was not removed from our bill. We are not ones that ever complain or want something for free. So this was the final straw.
I always enjoy the Chart House, I've been to many of their restaurants, even the one in Maui. My family regularly goes to Chart House in Daytona Beach, FL for birthdays, new years, anniversaries, and just to enjoy a good meal. We bring friends that have never been to a Chart House, and we've even arrived by boat. The last 3 times we've been there we were mildly disappointed in the table we were given. Most tables are good in this restaurant, but they always seem to put us in a corner with a partial view of the water. I don't usually complain but I think the next time I will and hope to get the table of my preference and not stuck in a less than desirable table. If not I may reconsider my next visit to the Chart House.
Overall I think the Chart House has wonderful food. Although I saw some people with casual clothing on we dressed in our Sunday best. The atmosphere was ritzy, but made me feel a little more at ease when I saw a big group come in with casual clothing. The only complaint that I had was that when we were unable to finish our meal we could not get it boxed to take home, well at least that is the impression we were given. The waiter came over and asked my cousin if she was finished and took her plate which was full of food. She was hoping to take that $20.00 meal home, he did not offer to box it, so we assumed that boxing it was inappropriate in this type of fancy establishment.
The Chart House in Daytona Beach did not disappoint. The food was fantastic with beautiful presentation. The view was spectacular of the intercoastal waterway and the service was top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a 5 star meal.
We had a delightful dinner at the Chart House! We arrived early and had drinks and their Firecracker Shrimp during Happy Hour outside on the deck. A great night for sitting out watching the boats on the beautiful river. Shrimp was delicious. We were lucky to receive a window seat for our dinner and were given personalized menus with a Congratulatory message printed on the top of them. Nice touch. We ordered the short ribs/scallop combo and the filet/shrimp combo. Both were excellent. Our server, Megan was attentive and professional. The Chart House made our 24th Anniversary a special night.
But, not the ambience and food I remembered from 15 years ago. The place could use a little remodel. It's not that it's in bad shape, but it just looks aged. It used to feel like a special occasion place, almost a little glamorous, now it feels a little run down. The food was decent, but definitely had room for improvement. I would go back because of the view. Dolphins and manatees can be seen from the windows which overlook a little bay.
We were on vacation from Beaumont, TX. I was looking online for a nice place to take my boyfriend for his birthday. I made online reservations. The restaurant called me the next day to let me know what they had to offer for birthdays. They had complimentary personalized menus which was a nice touch. They were very helpful and accommodating. The place itself was very elegant. We requested a window seat which u can only do upon your arrival. But there was no wait because we got there early. We watched manatees play in the water outside while we ate. The food was great. The service was great. The waitress was very informative and suggested things we should try. Was very pleased with the whole experience.
Ordered soup-it never came
Ordered prime rib med rare-came very rare
Potatoes were cold
Server, Meghan, never recognized or acknowledged lack of soup and never even checked on us to see how our meal was or if we wanted another drink!
Come on Chart House. You should be much better than ths.
We dined at the Chart House to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. The hosting team greeting us warmly as soon as we arrived. When I explained the special occasion, a celebratory menu was prepared acknowledging the birthday. As members of the Landry group, we were able to be seated next to the window as we requested. Our server, Glenn, couldn't do enough for us. As we watched him service his tables, we noticed he treated everyone with a personal touch. He was a gem. We will certainly be back and not just for a special occasion because each visit to the Chart House is, in itself, a special occasion.
The food was good! I had Alaskan King Crab. I thought I would have the whole crab instead of just legs for that price though :) My husband had Filet Mignon. He said it was tender and juicy. The baked potato skin has crunchy salty taste. I love it. We enjoyed the Lava Cake too.
We ordered the 4-course for two for $50 special. Items for this special, of course, are limited. I ordered the chopped salad for my salad option and got the ceaser salad. When I told the waiter, he started to pull his book out to see if he wrote it down wrong - it doesn't matter - I know what I ordered. My salad was replaced. The chopped salad was very good. My boyfriend ordered a side of asparagus but was never delivered. I think that shows the waiter was not listening when he took our order. The asparagus was not on our bill. My chicken marsala and mashed potatoes were very tasty. And the crème brule was also very good.
We really enjoyed the romantic and special ambiance of the Chart House and the lovely view of the water. The food was very good, as were the wine and cocktails. The staff and our server, a young woman, were very attentive and made us feel special on our anniversary. We have dined there several times in the past few years, and will certainly return again. We really liked the menus that were personalized with our names and an anniversary wish, to take home. Such a thoughtful and special touch.
I was very disappointed in the waiter that I had for my dinner...1st, I had to ask for EVERYTHING at least twice before I got what I asked for on several occasions prior...The waiter didn't have that many tables as the restaurant was not that busy. 2nd, we waited and waited for our appetizer, however, the waiter brought out our salad before the appetizer. He told us on 3 occasions that the appetizer was almost ready, however, it didn't show up until 2 minutes or so after our salad...For the price you pay for dinners at this restaurant, I would think that the wait staff and kitchen would be more professional and especially TIMELY...Also, The waiter asks us what we wanted for dessert as he was taking our dinner menu...!!!!!!
We were a group of 7. 5 meals came out and the other 2 meals and side items came out literally 30 minutes later after the " first group" finished. The manager was pleasant and offered 3 free desserts .
However it was a far cry from a seamless high class dining experience.
I really liked the view. however, the quality of their steak is far of being good specially for the price they charge. I could get a better steak at Longhorn for much less.
The waitress who has served us was very pushy and had a strange voice difficult to understand.
My wife and I have been going to this establishment for 21 straight years for our anniversary . It is high priced but the quality of service and the atmosphere make it worth it. We do dine here on other occasions but always for our anniversary . I was very disappointed with our dinner my steak was over cooked they were out of my wife's selection. I didn't say anything because everyone's answer to everything is a free meal which is not what I wanted and to be honest did not feel like waiting for another steak either. We will find some where else for future anniversaries
The food was good but we were sat in an area with small children and crying babies. The head wait was good, knowledgeable and friendly but seemed a bit pre-occupied. We went to Chart House for an anniversary (16th) but were not afforded an adult atmosphere because of kids and crying babies. You should re-think your "zones" in this establishment. This could have been a whole lot more pleasant and memorable for all the RIGHT reasons instead of NOISY and CRYING ones! FIX IT!
