Chart House Restaurant - Daytona Beach Ratings and Reviews
Always like Charthouse and decided it would be a nice way to enjoy Thanksgiving. I guess we weren't alone as it was packed. Even with a reservation had to wait 45 minutes which I thought was uncustomary poor management on their part. The dinner was very nice as was the service. One dinner had cold sides and they immediately took it back and brought a new one. Not sure I would do a holiday dinner again as they seem to either overbook or let too many walkins go but generally recommend the restaurant. Happy Holidays
I thought I would treat myself one time on an indulgent dinner for Thanksgiving. The turkey was dry and the potatoes weren't seasoned. The dressing was the only thing that saved this meal. The wait staff was harried and service was EXTREMELY slow. Had a reservation for 7:00, didn't get out of the restaurant until 8:40
So for Thanksgiving Dinner this year, i made reservations! Hubby and I went to the Chart House for Thanksgiving Dinner and it was PACKED. Reservations at 6:15, we were not seated until after 6:45 and the noise in the place was staggering. The table felt like it was shoe-horned into a teeny cubby in the aisle so trays of food narrowly missed our heads. Getting in and out of table proved a challenge as well.
Food was excellent, servers were stretched thin so don't ask for some thing extra as you would not seen it until towards the end of the meal. Our server was pleasant and substituted a veggie for me even though there were "no substitutions", so I can't complain about that.
All in all it was a lovely dinner.
Good service polite reception. Did have reservation for 5-45 taken to the table at 6-20. it has to be expected we were not upset it was thanksgiving evening. Spent a lovely half hour downstairs at the bar.The meal was excellent. We did select from the allacarte menu.
The Chart House has an excellent reputation for good food and excellent location. The location is still great and the food was up to expectations but the restaurant was badly overbooked and the wait for a table was almost an hour even though we had made the reservation a week in advance. We use the Chart House for special occasions and Thanksgiving is one of those. The lesson for us is that we will never book on a holiday at this restaurant again.
Food and service was good however it was overshadowed by the fact we were seated at a small balcony table (for 2), close to the entrance waiting room, and practically in the aisle. I asked to be seated at another table and was rudely told that I had no choice in the matter, etc. In retrospect, I should have made an issue of this and insisted on another table, even if it meant immediately leaving without having dinner.
We decided to go to this upscale Restaurant to not do the work or clean up. Well it was the worse dinner we ever had. To pay $50 per person for just the salad bar (which was extra) and a blah Turkey dinner. It was the worse meal--salad bar was great but not worth $50.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is very pretty and great water views. The hostess was very friendly and able to seat us next to a window. Our server , nick , was very distracted all night. We asked for information on a bottle of wine and he said he did not know much about bottles only glasses of wine and he did not offer to find someone who could answer our questions. Also we asked for recommendations and he only stated the specials. Either he was very new or distracted. Several times we had to look around for him as we had not seen him for quite some time, and the restaurant did not seem very busy.
Their "famous" salad bar was poorly supervised all evening. Many items needed to be replenished and much of the lettuce in the Caesar Salad station had browned.
Additionally, we waited a long time to receive our entrees. When they were finally delivered, all 4 entrees were lukewarm and the vegetables were cold. When our waiter inquired how we were enjoying our food, we did tell her that everything should have been hotter. The manager did come over and offered us new entrees. However, due to the length of time we had already been sitting, we rejected the offer.
We do like The Chart House when their "game is on". But we are increasingly frustrated with the continuing "hit or miss" experience we encounter when we go. We won't rush back.
We were there for a 90th Birthday celebration of a parent. The server was very friendly and cordial at first, but it ended there. The server changed when another server came with only one dish for the table and without announcing the dish, rudely placed it in front of one of 5 in our party. We did not know what it was until we asked what it was to make sure whose entrée it was for. No one asked us if we wanted another drink , until I called the server over to ask.
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food for the steep prices, in addition to the most expensive salad prices added to the high cost of the entrée. It is surprising that a restaurant would charge almost the same price for the "salad bar" as any entrée salad..
For a supposedly upscale restaurant with upscale pricing, the food left a lot to be desired.
For example, I had the "New" Surf and Turf dish consisting of three scallops and a mish mosh
of schredded beef - which while acceptable tastewise - looked like what I just said a "mish mosh"
(More like schredded pork and for the price of $30.50 was clearly unacceptable.
We go to Long Horn's frequently and you could take a lesson in preparing Salmon. I had
crusted Salmon which was "below Par" and more money than Long Horn's which is absolutely
It was a special occasion - my husband's birthday - Tues - Oct 29 and needless to say we were
both disappointed. For $120 for two people - I felt it was outrageous.
Was in from out of town to take a client to dinner. The food was great the service was very poor. I think it was the waitresses first time. We ordered bottled water she brought us flat she couldn't open the bottle of wine and service was very slow. Disappointed that such an expensive restaurant had such an amateur staff.
My two friends and I visited Daytona just as Bike Week was ending. We wanted really good food and no hassle.
Reservations at Chart House were made on Open Table, easy and convenient
Arrived to be greeted by cheerful and very helpful host. We were not happy with first table offered (too near "service" path) and were cheerfully offered other seating with a beautiful view of the marina.
Our server was so sweet and charming we left a 30% tip and believe me the cheapskates I run around with aren't easy!
Highly recommend for a good meal, pleasant service and beautiful view.
My husband and I had a very nice experience on a full moon Friday night....We were able to watch the moon and have a delicious dinner and were able to dock our boat conveniently for the sail back to our home in NSB..The service was great and the presentation was lovely.....we also have friends that have recommended the happy hour with good drinks and appetizers....so we will try that also....It was a special occasion for us and the Chart House fit our wants perfectly....
The whole restaurant was short staffed, bar, waiters therefore, the service was slow and somewhat spotty. The four of us ordered our main courses, and they all came out cold so we sent them back. The cheesecake dessert was nothing to write home about. I had the short ribs, which were good.
I would only go back for the atmosphere, which can't be beat and maybe try out the bar menu which looked pretty good.
This is classic fine dining. Quiet, excellent service (slow compared to a typical chain, but you should set aside a couple of hours to dine). The food is prepared wonderfully and it is everything you would expect. I had the swordfish, perfectly grilled with excellent sides.
The cocktail was too sweet, but the rest of my party quite enjoyed their drinks.
The food is everything you expect from fine dining, from wonderful steaks and seafood to some of the best creamed spinach I have had. However, if you are looking for new, inventive dining, I would suggest another restaurant.
We hadn't been to the Chart House in a very long time. We used to go years ago but then had some just so-so dinners and stopped going. We gave it another try the other night and it was wonderful. My husband had the tuna which he loved and I had the prime rib. It was the best prime rib I've had in a very long time! My only complaint was I probably should have gotten the larger cut. And the views are amazing!
Let me start by commenting on the Prime Rib, it was outstanding. Sadly our expierence with the sides and service was not Chart House quality. The bread that came with the meal was terribly stale and our party was shocked that a high end restaraunt does not make their own bread. Our server was cold and slow to refill drinks.
my husband wanted something a little different than offered on the menu. The head chef came out and talked to him personally to see what he wanted and offered a choice. Then, he came to our table to see if all was acceptable. The meal was wonderful and the service outstanding.
