50th anniversary celebration
My wife and I have never been to the Chart House but heard a number of people mention it so we decided to have dinner there for our wedding anniversary. The experience was one where we would neither feel compelled to go back nor to recommend it to others. First, the roads around the entrance are all under construction so getting there was a bit of a puzzle. Not the fault of Chart House but their website made no mention of this. When we got there it was already dark and there are these annoying ground level lights that shine right into your face, making parking and walking up to the entrance more difficult than it ought to be. Upon entering, we immediately noticed that the décor is quite dated and boring, not the ambiance of a high-brow fine dining venue. We also immediately noticed that the sound system was blaring big band/swing music like Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra stuff from the early 1900's. I wondered if we were at a fine dining restaurant or a speakeasy, ducking the cops during prohibition. Throughout the evening, the genre and sheer volume of the music did not change.
The hostess took us to the table she selected for us. It was a Monday evening in Daytona, not at all crowded with plenty of tables by the windows open, yet she stuck us in a corner next to the kitchen. Really?? The waiter was a pleasant younger man who took way to long to get to our table initially, but did a great job from that point on, including moving us out of detention when asked to do so. My wife ordered a Mango Mojito and I the Pomegranate Mojito. I liked mine but my wife said hers was way too sugary and tried to balance it with some squeezed limes but to no avail. The waiter did offer to replace it but she declined. For entrees my wife has baked salmon with steamed vegetables and I had the soy ginger shrimp and scallops. Both dishes presented well but the food was just 'ok' not wow and for sure not commensurate with the price point. Bottom line, much prefer Hyde Park
Great place, perfect location, friendly service and awesome food
Nice meal. Food was only good but served nice and hot. Service was slow and inconsistent. Our waiter uncomfortably slammed the competition several times. Lobster bisque was broth only. Parmesan encrusted cod was good. Mash potatoes were dry and bland. Key lime and mud pie were very good.
Always consistent food and service and this trip was just another in a string of pleasant experiences. Great recommendations by our waiter and a great experience for our friends who were first time visitors.
Had such a wonderful time. Daniel, our outstanding server, was excellent! I had prime rib which was cooked to perfection. Side of mushrooms were served on a sizzling iron pan and had the best light sauce. My wife had the stuffed shrimp with veggie orzo. She is still talking about how great they tasted. We shared a lava cake for dessert, which was rich and delicious. Loved the ambience. Will definitely visit again.
The food was very good. We had crab cakes, baked stuffed shrimp and New York Strip and everything was cooked to perfection. And for dessert we had the Mud Pie and it was very good. The server (Seth) was very nice and attentive all night.
The service was excellent, would definitely visit the restaurant again. Everyone was very friendly and professional.
To keep it short, simple and specific, we enjoyed the evening.
The drink I ordered was a $13 special cocktail. It was not mixed properly. I ordered Ahi Tuna and my piece was cut wrong and the connective tissue from the fish ran thru the center of the fish. Also it was not cooked enough and cold and raw in the middle. I sent it back.
My friend ordered a Salmon and shrimp dish. It had very little flavor and he only finished have of it.
I have eaten many times at Chart House Restaurants and this was my worst experience.
Outstanding service and delicious food. This is the first time in months we have dined at a restaurant and elected to be seated outside on the patio facing the marina. It was wonderful! James provided excellent recommendations and we took advantage of the Happy Hour specials.
For being Halloween night the restaurant was very quite, the food was outstanding and our waiter Thomas was beyond professional and polite. 5 stars across the board. We will definitely be back for another dinner and or happy hour experience!
Best restaurants I have ever visit. Food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful.
Thank you for the service. I will definitely visit again.
Great value, great food, great service always enjoy this location... just have very loud people at Happy Hour bar area? Never understand how people have to talk so loud so everyone hears their opinion and conversation which is why we always try to get tableside on water.
Both the trio shrimp and salmon were excellent as was the lobster bisque
Husbands birthday. Great meal. Waiter was slow but eventually delivered food to table. Slow on refills also.
Prime rib very tasty.
Service was slow and uninspiring. Server clearly overwhelmed and not able to keep up with simple demands. Sad experience for a birthday celebration...will stay away for a while...
I’ve been going to different Chart House restaurants for years, back when they had one on the island of Maui. This was the FIRST time I’ve ever had to return my food. I ordered salmon. When it was brought to me it looked great but my first piece fell off my fork upside down and the bottom was black. I turned the whole piece over and it was burnt to a crisp. If that first piece hadn’t fallen off I wouldn’t have seen the black. They fixed me a new plate, by the time it came the rest of my party was almost done. Along with the salmon there were 2 shrimp, well they were so overcooked I couldn’t eat them. So very disappointed. Yes, they did give me a discount and was appreciative of that. This will not stop me from going to the Chart House, still one of my favorites. Just very disappointed.
Service was great, ambience is perfect… they are not at the top of their game with the filet mignon. It was overcooked and they did correct the problem however the fillet itself was not a quality meat... chalky tasting. Waiting for them to repair the issue was a problem. The bartender missed the mark on a simple dirty martini as well... fortunately, Elizabeth and the manager were there to save the special occasion experience!
The Chart House is one of our favorite places to eat, and it never disappoints. The Chart House not only accommodated my reservation request, but they managed to do so even when I had to move the reservation time up on short notice. The time from ordering to dinner on the table was a little longer than normal, but it was not a big problem. Our waiter was friendly, the food was excellent as always, and the experience was great.
It’s always a great service and awesome food.
we had a fantastic dining experience!! Highly recommended!!
Very nice restaurant with a great view of the water, we always have great service and great food when we dine at The Chart House.
At 7:30pm they ran out of the Prime Rib which is their asignatura dish. They also ran out of baked potato. What?? Service was extremely slow. We waited a long time to get the check and were told that the receipt machine had run out of paper. You can’t make this up!!! Never again!
Our waitress was spread thin but still did a very good job
Our dinner at the Chart House - Daytona Beach was outstanding. Service was terrific, restaurant facility was beautiful with a great water view and the food was wonderful. Will always eat here when in Daytona.
Excellent waitstaff! Very nice table with a lovely view. Generous portion of crab legs. Tasty Lobster Bisque and Stuffed Shrimp. Our cocktails were well poured.
Our waiter, Lorenzo, helped to make our anniversary celebration even more special with his courteous, attentive manner and his excellent recommendations. As expected, the food was outstanding!
I forgot to ask if there were bell peppers in the crab mango appetizer. I ordered a caesar salad instead but i had to hunt down server. No big deal but i hated having my husband eat wo me.
Service was excellent. Food was average with small portions. a little expensive but I guess you are paying for the location
Fine dinning, great food, large wine selection, nice water views.
Thank you! It was kind of busy for Monday evening. It looked like there were not enough people on the kitchen and servers on the floor :( so it took a while for our food to be prepared.
The food was delicious :)
Great staff and food. Michele made our dinner memorable.
Everything felt slower than usual. The food and service was just ok. The upstairs bathroom was not clean and out of toilet paper and paper towels. It will be awhile if ever before we return. This was not the best dinner and I wish we could get our money back. The restaurant felt old and tired - I don’t think they have recovered or will recover from the global pandemic.
the staff gave my wife and I a card and a special menu to celebrate our anniversary !!! nice touch !!! very attentive to making our evening perfect...
This restaurant is a true gem. Our waiter was very attentive and had great customer service. We celebrated my wife’s 30th birthday, the restaurant made custom menus and gave her a birthday card signed by the staff! The attention to detail was great! We will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Now reopened it is quite noisy and they do not have their processes working.
Food: Caesar and chop salads were somewhat bland and wilted.
Service: inattentive, had to ask for water refills, I was served a glass of wine I did not request-yes it was on the bill.
Our entree’s came with vegetables-not mentioned on the menu so we ordered sides and ended up with way too much food.
Dessert: asked if we wanted a lava cake which takes 30 min to prepare, we said yes and it took a lot longer than 30 min to serve it.
They are off their game!
Was very disappointed! Our main entree took 45 minutes and then when we received it everything was cold. Wasn’t comped a penny after letting the manager know. Paid $140 for cold food! Should have stayed home!
Excellent service and food. Nice view of marina.
