My family and I went last night for a birthday celebration I made a reservation but still had to wait 40 minutes to get seated! They took so long on bringing drinks they kept messing up our orders, we didn’t get our food till an hour after that we ordered and our food was cold. Overall it was a bad night.

Server was phenomenal with perfect timing between dishes. Warm bread and water was served immediately upon being seating. The shrimp appetizer, clam chowder soup, Prime rib and finally the lava cake for desert were all top notch. One of the best dinners and ambiance I have had in a few years.

Everything on the table was filthy with dried food stuck to it, the bread plate, butter knife, forks, water glasses, even the cloth napkins had old but dried in previously washed food debris stuck to it. Not sure how anyone that set that table did not see the food all over the bread plate, it looked like it came straight out of the dirty dish bin. The server couldn’t have cared less. Disappointed of the quality of service, food, and cocktails. Dana point Charthouse was a disappointment, or maybe it just was our gross server who made the experience so bad!

Good food and ambiance! A bit pricey but comparable to other fine restaurants. What I find disturbing is that they charge you $8.00 to park and be able to eat there as there is limited parking so it is only valet and they do not validate the parking ticket. We fortunately found street parking!

Waiter was good but seemed not to have any support. Drinks took way to long to come. No bussing service. Main entrees came out when table had not be cleared from appetizers. Red wine came out when we were almost done with dinner. I made notation on reservation it was anniversary celebration also reminded hostess private when I arrived. Coffee service came assumed no dessert menus because anniversary dessert was coming as a surprise for my parents 54th anniversary. I left the table again and hostess to remind manager…he came to the table asking what problem we were having in front of my parents😞.

We enjoyed our evening at the Chart House celebrating our granddaughter's 13th BD. Such a special evening and it couldn't have been better! The view, our table, the service staff, hosts, the delicious food and scrumptious desserts were all amazing! They even have mocktails for those of us who do not drink alcohol - wonderful! Everything we tried was perfect! She had filet for the first time and was very impressed. This restaurant exceeds expectations and we cannot wait to go again. Thank you!

Server was very arrogant didn’t make us feel welcome. We split a salmon, dinner and crab legs crab legs were delicious. Salmon was dry potatoes were like hockey pucks. sad to see this place going downhill.

Everything from the view to the service and food was amazing!! Our only complaint would be that the music was too loud and didn’t match the ambiance of the restaurant and that’s coming from a 25 year old LOL! Very impressed overall and would still recommend!!

This is one of the best restaurants in the OC, watching the sunset last night and the waxing moon shimmering across the ocean and Dana Point Harbor was truly magnificent. One small suggestion: the asparagus was slightly woody and may I suggest that the chef simply refrain from using: less can be more! The evening was very well done and our waitress could not have been nicer!

Love the Dana Point Chart House. Amazing view of the harbor and all down the coast. The food is consistently good and the service always spot on. We visit Dana Point several times a year and the Chart House is always a highlight of our trip.

We were so excited for dinner at Chart House! We went with another couple who had been before and were looking forward to sharing a cool place with us. I’ll cut to the chase. We had to ask for everything. Water, plates, silverware, etc. Two of us had ordered steak, but weren’t given any knife to cut it with. After struggling with butter knives for 20 minutes we finally saw our waiter again and asked for steak knives. He then told us he’d LOVE to give us some, but he couldn’t find any, ANYWHERE. ??? We paid $400 for a dinner at a place where they didn’t have any steak knives. Tell me you’re as confused as I was. I wish with all my might that was the end of it, but it’s not. The food was really, truly, terrible. The fish was dry and flavorless, the steak was over cooked and tough, the vegetables were limp and soggy. Not a single redeeming quality to our meal. It was very sad and disappointing. The view is beautiful! It’s Dana Point so that’s kind of a given. If you come here maybe get a drink, take in the view and then go get dinner somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Terrible service. Reservation was at 7 and we didn’t get seated until 7:30. It then took ten minutes for our waiter to come over. 7:55 came around and we had yet to get poured water so we left Charthouse. When leaving we spoke to the manager and his response was “okay”.

Our family are regular attenders. And, we love celebrating birthdays and anniversaries at this beautiful location. However, our recent experience was a huge disappointment. My son ordered a medium rare steak that was very overcooked/burnt you might say, and the baked potato that came with my salmon dinner was also over baked and hard as a rock. My son sent his steak back and I just dealt with the burnt baked potato because I was too hungry to have to wait for a whole dinner to return. Most of us finished our dinners before my son got his back

Chart House has been on our list of restaurants for a while. We finally dined here for our anniversary, and the server was aware we were celebrating a special evening. The service was subpar. Our server took our order, brought us our food, and didn’t come back until he casually took the food off the table and gave us a piece of dessert with the bill. He didn’t come to check on us to ask if we needed anything the entire time we had dinner. He didn’t even come back to take our bill, we literally walked in and paid the bill at the bar because we sat at the table too long waiting for him to come back. It was a really disappointing experience, especially for it to happen on our wedding anniversary.
