Chart House Restaurant - Cardiff Ratings and Reviews
We had a window seat and it was perfect. Lynn was an outstanding server and made my dads birthday very special. Filets were great and the mac mahi as always was fantastic!!
Of course the mud pie was perfection—— but even with 3 of us we has some leftover—- so be sure you split it!!!
We went to the Chart House for our 5th anniversary. Our first date was at the Chart House too. We made it in time to watch a beautiful sunset. The food was great and since it was a Sunday the restaurant wasn't too busy making for a comfortable evening. Highly recommend.
What was supposed to be a 50th wedding celebration turned out to be quite the disappointment. We had reservations at 5.30 and arrived on time but had to wait 5min to be seated for no obvious reason. The 7 of us just hung out in the entry way since we had children with us and couldn’t go to the bar area. The dining room was so dark that all of us ended up using our cell phone flashlights to read the menu. The salami on the cheese and charcuterie plate was old and tasted horrible. We had two orders of prime rib medium at our table of 7 and those slices came for sure off different pieces of meat. One was absolutely perfect and the other one full of fat and grizzle. The sweet sticky rice that was served with the tour de shrimp tasted really bad. The spring rolls and the shrimp cocktail were tasty. The drink selection was good but the margeritas were served in what looked like lemonade glasses. It was just not a good dining experience especially for the price.
My wife and I where on a date so the upscale nature felt right for the occasion. It was a slow night for them , however we had a great dining experience. The staff was attentive but not hovering, our cocktails were amazing with great interaction from our server. Our appetizer was well timed and delicious. I had asked about the entree timing of the chef, the staff nailed it there also, perfect timing for our evening. The presentations are very nice and taste wonderful, the wine list is well suited for our tastes.
The chocolate/bourbon offering from the drink menu caught my eye earlier in the evening, so I inquired about as a desert. Wow, what a delight... my date had the creme brulee sampler... fantastic.
We look forward to another evening at the Chart House. $200.00 bucks well experienced...
p.s. the valet did not screw up the seat settings in the car... just saying..
My girlfriend took me there for my birthday. Shawn , our waiter made it a point to tell us his name. He was great. My girlfriend wanted to make a point to say that the Risotto was the worst she ever had. It came out just cream the first time then just lumps after the waiter brought it back. I tried it to see if she was right. She was. Vons risotto in a box is even better. I had the swordfish . It was ok.. it great , not bad. Just ok. The birthday ice cream was perfect. I had been there before and had better. We will probably return since we had better in the past and give it another try
Amazing view, wonderful food and our waitress was very cordial. I loved the calamari fritti preparation. My fish was very good and pan seared to perfection. My husband wasn't as fond of his pasta with shrimp but he loved my son's filet mignon. The view and sunset are very hard to beat. We do love this restaurant.
We were seated right away at a window by the ocean which I had requested BUT in spite of the outside temperatures being pretty cool the end of November the Resturant was very cool for eating comfortably - I had to keep my coat on and my guest was brought a tablecloth to cover her legs which the waiter suggested as apparently he had done before -
They need to regulate their temperature a lot more or offer heaters inside .
We went to the Chart House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having eaten there once before we remembered the outstanding food and service we decided it would be a terrific place. The lobster bisque was our main reason to go there. It's so memorable that we had to experience it again. We recommend it.
Horrible service. Restaurant was not managed well. Bathrooms were in a horrible state @7:30pm
Food was pretty good. The waiters, hostess were friendly but super slow and forgetful.
With reservations we waited 35 minutes to be seated to a table that was shared between 3 different waiters confused as to who’s table it was.
I would not return to this location. Other Chart house locations were much better service.
This is our second year for Thanksgiving dinner. The Turkey dinner is wonderful, almost as good as home cooked, and I am thankful that they were open and for the staff helping to make our Thanksgiving so wonderful. It was very busy and they were all working so hard.
Had a reservation for 4:30 and asked for an ocean view. Waited 15-20 minutes to be seated with no apology- no view. The waiter brought our meals at 6PM but brought the wrong fish plate for one person. He admitted that he had gotten the order wrong but did not offer to comp a dessert or drink as any other established or classy restaurant would have done. The quality of the food was so-so. Would not return.
Open floor to ceiling windows to ocean and felt like you were almost on sand...no rush and amazing service and food ... went with friends at 11:30 am for lunch and it was such a delight... no need to ask if there is a better view and ocean Restaurant ... this is it people!!
We came for a late lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We had reservations but there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant. My seat faced the counter, so I could see the food prep going on. I saw hot food sit on the counter for over 10 minutes before it was finally delivered to the table next to me. The servers were eating at the counter. My steak was good, but was cold when I got it. Our server was nice, the ocean view was great. I came here once for dinner before. I did not like that everything was a-la-carte on the menu. To get a potato with my steak, or a small side salad, I had to order it separately. I felt like we paid much more than the meal was worth.
Have been there many times. Very poor experience this time. VERY expensive, drinks took 1/2 hour to get there. Prime Rib way underdone and then took 15 more minutes. They forgot part of the order...soup. Seafood special was expensive and so fishy I couldn't eat it. However, a fabulous waitress!
We had a wonderful time with our 3 granddaughters for brunch. We had a good vantage point from our table and they loved watching the waves while eating. We especially liked the Lobster and Shrimp roll. We also had the beautifully presented shrimp cocktail with the dry ice. I think the best was our waiter Jonah! We enjoyed him immensely! Job well done ! We’ll be back soon!
We were seated at a very nice window table, but the service was marginal. I made the reservation through Open Table, and specified that I was a Landry's select member, and that we had an anniversary for Alan and Melissa. I mentioned to the hostesses that we were Landrys Club members as well. We were never visited by a manager, and no one seemed aware of the Anniversary. Other tables got special menus with the names printed on them. At the end, Craig did ask if we were celebrating anything, and we told him it was an anniversary. We had to ask to have our water glasses refilled, we poured our own wine after the first pour, and there were issues with the entrees. Four entrees were brought out, and it was about 5 minutes before the fifth was brought out. It was a filet that was ordered medium, but turned out to be well-done. Unfortunately, I found out about it later, as my date was not comfortable with sending food back. My niece ordered pasta without shrimp or mushrooms, and it came loaded with mushrooms. She ordered a side of mashed potatoes that we had to ask for twice before they finally arrived. The fish entrees were good, however. This is the second time I've dined at the Chart house recently, and both times it has seemed that the restaurant is understaffed and the service was disappointing.
Bummer I have to write this, but the last two times I’ve dined here the service was poor. Our server didn’t even once poor our wine....
Other than that, it’s still one of my go to places, but the service should be better when you’re spending $40 plus for a plate of food.
