The price is decent. The food that were served to us looked aethesically pleasing. The ambience was pretty romantic. Sandra, our server is excellent. The filet mignon that were served to us is just on the dry side despite it being medium rare, but it was still soft.
The filet was perfect. Excellent quality and taste. My wife had the lobster stuffed scrod and it was exceptional
They put us upstairs in an area that they were going to have a private event. The area behind us was covered in some sort of clothe in preparation for the event. It was our 50th anniversary dinner...poor ambiance...like we were in a cafeteria. The service was moderate and we were being rushed all night. I got a chipped glass on my champagne and the server simply poured it into another glass. The food was excellent, however...but no ambiance and no class at all. We will never go back...sad because we had fond memories of this restaurant...gone way down hill...
Food was a bit average, but the ambiance is awesome.
We have had the pleasure to enjoy this restaurant and it’s offerings in several different cities. This one was top notch in all categories.
A bit of a grumpy waiter, but food and beverage came quickly.
My wife had the stuffed Scrod and loved it. I had the Prime Rib and it was to die for.
Very nice atmosphere and great location near or hotel.
I would highly recommend to anyone sing in this area!
Food was outstanding service not so much a bit disappointing.
A perfect spot to meet friends for lunch. Wine and food was very good and prices were reasonable.
It is also an excellent location and easy to walk to from public transportation.
After 1 1/2 hours we were asked if we had ordered our main course. At 2 hours and the whole restaurant closed they brought our main course. I couldn’t eat that late as I am 8 months pregnant. Every part of meal was incorrect i.e. ordered salad without bacon. It came with bacon and the waitress took it back and when she brought it back out she said she was able to scrape most of it off...seriously? Not to mention she wasn’t out Le waiter. The worst service I have ever had. The waiter was terrible and a manager never came over...usually happens when u have people not eating. All around disgusting for a $200 meal. I will be contacting the general manager as I could wait another hour.
Great food. Service was spotty but the overall meal was excellent.
Had a reservation for 6:30. When we arrived, very disorganized and was ushered into bar where we waited well past reservation time. Finally, after complaining, we were seated. At most restaurants of this caliber, 6:30 reservation means table is waiting and u are seated immediately upon arriving!
The food was amazing! Our waiter wasn't very attentive. We asked if we were getting bread and he said only if you ask for it. This is a fairly expensive restaurant and one would think bread would be served when the drinks arrived.
I made the reservation a week ago but when went there i wait almost 45 min.
Food and dining room service were great. Has reservations but still has to wait for about 30 min in the lounge. Lounge was not very crowded but for some reason we could not seem to get any passing wait person to even make eye contact to order a drink. Finally went to the bar and got them. Second drink we ordered from the waiter .... but he never brought them. I have eaten here a number of times without issue, but it was much different this night. Hopefully just a bad night. Not sure I will try it again though.
Really disappointed in the quality of food for the price and even more disappointed in the service. The prime rib was well done and had a crust on it from sitting under the heat lamp so long. The waiter didn’t even introduce himself when we sat down and seemed very irritated/uninterested in performing his job. Perhaps he had a bad night, sometimes everyone does but it was really unfortunate. We won’t be back.
This was a family gathering and I had never been to the Chart House before. Absolutely worth going to!! The food was exceptional, service outstanding and we had a great time. I will definitely go back. Thank you for an outstanding night.
We really enjoyed our time here. The food was delectable, the Chart House was clean, cozy, and quaint. Perfect for our family of four!
We had a wonderful experience and great food at the Chart House. We will be back.
Had a fabulous dinner last night at the Chart House in Boston!! Great meal and great service as well as a very historic building (John Hancock’s original office building). Bar area was great as well. Highly recommend!!
Excellent service by our waitress. Very friendly. Food was excellent.
Can't go wrong here. Every time I travel to Boston I make a stop here. Definitely my favorite.
Our server Joseph was fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the menu, courteous and attentive. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great for a business lunch.
We made a reservation for My loves Birthday a couple of weeks in advance and have looked forward to it.
Came on time however the place was closed due to problem. No mail, no info, no feedback, no excuse afterwards
We had to look for a new dining table and lost the planned romantic evening with an emergency dinner at a not so nice place as most of the places where booked on a Saturday evening.
So I went from a romantic evening to a disaster.....
So disappointed, so sad and the romantic evening was a catastrophe 😖👎👎👎
This restaurant was a catastrophic experience. I can not recommend it to anyone. Our evening was destroyed.
Walked there and they were closed after moving my reservation 15min and calling me to do that. Weird.
The Chart House closed and Open table still accepted reservations. Need to review your process.
We just sat down when we were evacuated after a lady passed out from carbon monoxide, alarms were ringing all over the building! Not a good experience - they told us all to leave!
Birthday dinner for my daughter and food was outstanding!
Birthday .. they were very attenative to making it a great night
We selected this restaurant based on the good reviews. We were not disappointed. It was a great experience all around. Good food, creative and delicious specialty drinks, and genuine service.
Food was excellent. Service was average. Our waitress kept pushing the raw seafood
Meal was awesome, great wine and waiter was informative but not overly chatty. Will go back next time in Boston!
Unbelievable！
Food was good. Last minute reservation, so appreciate availability. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return
Food is always delicious in a scenic and historic location. Dining rooms are beautiful with lots of brick, high ceilings and exposed beams. Unfortunately, on our last visit, we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time in a less desirable dining table (just outside the bar, near the entrance). This was in addition to arriving 15 minutes early. I feel like the menu prices are accounting partially for the atmosphere, and we lost some value there. Our server was friendly and attentive. I just wish our seating reservation was honored and we had a better table.
The food quality was not anywhere near worth its cost. Legal Sea Food and even small neighborhood restaurants produce far better seafood dishes. To pay almost $40 for a small piece of scrod with a very small amount of lobster "stuffed" within is ridiculous. Two spears of asparagus and a 2" wide lump of overly buttered mashed potatoes made up the rest of the dish.
The Mahi was even less worth its cost. I could grill a better piece at home. The absolute lack of quality astounded us.
The lava cake that had to be ordered when we ordered entrees was dry. All the chocolate sauce and ice cream couldn't change the fact that the cake felt like it had been made a few days ago.
A sad food experience in a nice building in a great location. The waiter was very outgoing and worked hard at selling us by saying we couldn't get a bad dish. We quickly realized that he was wrong at the first bite.
The beer and wine list was ok - enough low price selections to balance the cost of the meal. However, charging $66/bottle for Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio that goes for $16/bottle retail showed us the continual need to gouge just because of the setting and the name of the restaurant.
My daughter had been there before and want to go again for her 13th birthday. She asked for a cheeseburger and the chef refused to make it because is only done at lunch time and not for dinner. We wait it for 30 minutes to get the boston cream pie she asked for. We paid the bill for 4 drinks and the cake and left hungry.
Fyi to waiter. Don't promise a child that she can have whatever she wants cause is her birthday and then turn around and tell her you can't provide. Sad
the food was good, didn't leave stuffed, but the price was right... Wait staff was very proficient, and the food came out pretty quick for a Saturday night...
Great service. Food was delicious.
