Decent food and service
Great location and food! Our waiter was helpful and efficient. Fabulous place for a birthday celebration!
Rudest waiter ever. We reserved outside but we’re seated indoors. Open table available outside as well.
No specials no history of the building from our terrible waiter. We overheard our neighbors welcome from their nice normal waiter.
We were basically thrown water, which he spilled all over the floor while sloshing it on the glasses. Then ignored.. maybe because they’re were bigger parties, and we were just a couple.
I could see the kitchen was working hard, and they were the only saving grace of the entire meal. my 9oz filet was delicious but sadly only came with mashed and they were dry cold Yukon golds.
Chowder my bf had was also hot & delicious.
Thank goodness for the food, after which we were further ignored. I waited 20 mins more of being ignored. My neighbors nice waiter brought me my check finally after I caught him.. Great food but that’s not enough to bring me back after being treated like I was invisible.
Food was excellent but the service was very slow!!!!
Service was horrible. Food was not worth price
Tl;dr: No bread, slow service, mediocre food. We arrived yesterday 7/24/21 at approximately 6:35 with a reservation. We were seated at 6:45. We ordered the 3 course meal for each of us and a bottle of wine. We never received any bread the entire visit. Our waiter stopped at our table very infrequently. The soup was brought out. We had ordered lobster bisque and they brought chowder. They did swap the soup for the correct soup. The lobster bisque was ok at best. We still had not received our wine the entire time we had our soup. It was 15 minutes before the wine came. Our entrees did not arrive until after 7:50. More than an hour after we ordered. We had gotten the shrimp trio. It was mediocre at best. The coconut shrimp was dry and had nothing to dip it in. The grilled shrimp were rubbery. We had to take the dessert to go. The mini lava cake was pretty good. Very disappointed considering the great experiences I’ve had at other chart house locations.
Ordered the Mahi, tasted ok but was a small serving. Presentation was amateur. Wife ordered Prime Rib (Callahan). Ordered medium rare, came out mooing. Overall decent meal but not worth the cost, IMO.
Amazing historic building and experience for dinner! I came into Boston with my best friends for the weekend and the service was great as well as food, drinks, music, etc… I will be definitely recommend this restaurant!!
Great experience sitting outside in the evening. Food and ambiance were terrific.
Good food in an old building next to the bay cruise lines and the Marriott
Great food as always. My son things Char Houses have the worlds best chicken fingers. Great prime rib and seafood.
Just this time the waiter seemed to be not very talkative and a bit out of it.
The food was good, but the waitress was pretty dismissive.
Great food and atmosphere. The restaurant was a bit under staffed.
3 hours start to finish. Many other tables came in after us and left before us. Waiter seemed overwhelmed. Food was good, hard time getting basics like water, butter, etc. Light over table not working we finished our meal without a lot of light.
I have been enjoying Chart House restaurants for 35 years, unfortunately there are not as many as there once was, maybe because of what we experienced tonight?
Maybe Landry’s has grown so large they are loosing focus on what built so many of the fine restaurants they have purchased over the years.
Food was mediocre. Service was terrible. Dinner took 2.5 hours because it took that long to get our main course. For the price they charge everything should be much better!
Last night of vacation special dinner. Terrible service, extremely slow, spent over 2 hours there with 4 people. Food was ok but no longer hot/barely warm when finally received. The table next to us walked out before their food came. Hopefully for others, this isn’t the norm.
We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were informed that even though we had a reservation we needed to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. The hostess Mercy was very rude about it as well. It ended up being 30 minutes before we sat down. Even though half the restaurant was empty. We then waited another 20 minutes before a waiter came to the table and that was only because we flagged someone down out of exasperation. Part of the food was served cold. The whole experience was a hot mess. We love Landrys restaurants and especially the Chart House where we have dined in many cities as the one in Miami had closed. We were there on vacation so thankfully won’t be back regardless. But do yourself a favor and dine somewhere else when in Boston. This is honestly not only the worst Chart House but the worst restaurant experience in the entire Landry’s chain.
The food was great however it took us (2 people) 3 hours for dinner, a half an hour to get water, even longer to get drinks, and we didn’t get any bread.
Food was great, wine and cocktails were excellent! Service was a bit slow though, not sure if it was just our waiter or if it was a general thing. Would definitely come back.
Great meal flavor, cool spot. Entrees were smaller than I was expecting.
Lovely meal, lovely setting, excellent service - except for the very loud person sitting next to us.
Waiters are excellent and food is excellent too!
We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was very good. Our main courses were King Salmon and Filet Mignon. Both were prepared perfectly and they were delicious. The service was good.
Sat us right next to the kitchen even though other tables of the same size were available. Be careful of the false upsell. Were told a lot of the products like the smaller size prime rib (bigger sizes available) and Prosecco (
A group of friends getting together - very nice set up. Drinks and apps were excellent. I had the filet - was supposed to be medium-rare but was closer to medium. All meals were still really good. Waiter was charming and helpful.
Meal was very nice
Anniversary trip dinner. Patio seating was very nice, the food was delicious. Service was a little slow and had to ask multiple time for a couple items.
Original and excellent dishes, wonderful service, great atmosphere and location. Reasonably priced.
Too bad the crab cakes were not on the menu anymore...
Great food, as always! Service was a bit slow, but we were meeting friends we had not seen in a long time, so we were in no hurry. Great location, and valet parking definitely a bonus! This is our go-to restaurant in Boston. Never had a bad meal or experience there.
The food and service at the Chart House were excellent. I had the scrod stuffed with lobster. Omar's service was pleasant and efficient. Thanks to all!
Truly one of our favorite places to eat! Celebrated my mom's birthday and they treated her like royalty! Thank you!
Wonderful meal and a fantastic server! Cant wait for our next visit!
Service was very slow. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 cups of soup, 2 dinners, and desert. The 2 appetizers were great. The oysters were fresh and tasted great. We never received the soup. One dinner had clearly sat under a heat lamp for a while causing the meal to be dried out. The lava cake was just ok. We had a better experience at Chart House in other cities.
Food was fantastic and the historic atmosphere was amazing. Our server was great, the the bar and kitchen were terribly slow.
We had panned a trip to Martha’s Vineyard, but due to weather, ended up staying in Boston. We made reservations for our last night in Boston at Chart House. It did not disappoint! The service, food, and ambiance were great! We loved the history of the building too! Our server, Tristan, was amazing. He listened and made the best recommendations and was so personable!
Celebrated birthday- wonderful place. Building is great, meal delicious and service excellent.
We were really looking forward to dinner at The Chart House in Boston. The building has a lot of history, and that made it very charming. I was hoping for a view of the water, but because of the building design, there really weren’t any views.
Our waitress was very friendly, and took our drink orders right away. My martini was lukewarm, and had no olive which was a disappointment. We started with the oysters for an appetizer, and they were delicious. My husband had the lobster bisque which he said was very good, but only lukewarm. I had the watermelon/ feta salad which was a little short on watermelon. For our entrees I had the prime rib and my husband had the macadamia crusted mahi. Both were delicious. I also had a glass of red wine. Our bill was $175 without tip.
Overall, our dinner was fine, but would we go back, probably not.
Nice dinner and server very friendly
Not being too familiar with the area this was a pleasant surprise for both my wife and I on our vacation. We had many options but I think this one was by far the best. Location the atmosphere and the food all lead to a fantastic time.
The Chart House is a great restaurant. Love that its' on the waterfront! The food is great. However, the service is a bit slow. I think it is that type of a restaurant. We did have to wait a while for our drinks and main courses. As I said, I think this is the type of a restaurant that does not rush you, which is nice. It gave me and my friend time to catch up.
