We were contacted three times prio to our 7:30 reservation. We arrived at 7:38 and hostess was VERY rude. Tables were available but we were not seated until 7:58. Hostess brusquely pointed to a table and said take that one although there was an insufficient number of table settings. She was horrible to the point that the manager offered us come complimentary desserts.
Probably the most charming restaurant in Boston and the food is outstanding.
Service was great. Our dinners were quite tasty. They were able to successfully do gluten free and dairy free without losing flavor. Yay!
Wish the had Gluten Free dessert. They had Gluten Free dessert pre-Covid.
Looking forward to another visit.
Had a family dinner party at table for eight which was rectangular - round table would have been a better set up for us as those on the end seats could not hear what the far end of the table was discussing. Asked waitress before sitting down if we could get a round table and was told they only had round tables for 6.
Most of our order was incredible and the food was delicious. Even though most of the tables were empty they seated us right in front of the kitchen, which I really didn’t mind( just saying) . I take My wife to the chart house just for prime rib. She got what why I would call an End piece and it was very tough and Burnt. She ate about a 20% of it but decided to call the waiter and got another piece which was much better. She should’ve gotten the better piece first! Boston Harbor is n the Water … Views are Incredible!
We were seated immediately - positive.
Restaurant was not busy at time of arrival - nor did it fill up while there. However, they packed guests into a single area - not socially distancing - which could easily have been done. My husbands elbows came within a foot of touching the man beside him - NOT GOOD!
Waited several minutes before being greeted by a waiter - not ours - but greeted us and provided water. - WELL OK - at least we were greeted.
Waited for several more minutes before our waiter greeted us - didn’t understand a simple dry martini order - had to repeat 3 times. My husband ordered wine. The waiter delivered wine glass to me. REALLY? Pay attention…..
Salad and chowder were good.
Butter for bread was cold and hard. Fake candle on table so I couldn’t even warm it to spread. I know this is picky but a pet peeve.
Steak ordered by husband cooked well and tasted good.
My stuffed shrimp entree was barely warm.
Extremely disappointed with overall experience for restaurant which is supposed to be of such high caliber.
Good and service were great, maybe a little over priced.
Food was terrific! Service was great! I would recommend The Chart House to anyone.
Very nice service and food was good. Would have been nice to be able change an item on the menu option. But otherwise very good. Great beet salad but would be great with goats cheese maybe instead of blue cheese.
Worst service ever! From the hostess to waitress, just awful.
My daughter and I had dinner at the Chart House one evening while I was in Boston visiting her. Everything was great!
We docked at the Boston Marina behind the restaurant. We ate at a high top in the lounge and had oysters and prime rib. The chocolate bourbon drink was amazing and our server was nice.
The booths sit too high. My wife’s feet would dangle when seated, so we switched seats. There is nowhere to rest your arms, because there is not a single armrest chair in the restaurant.
Food was delicious! The rolls were nice and hot and the cauliflower rice was good! Unfortunately, the main entree I chose- the cod- was the smallest piece of fish ever! Ridiculous size for the $30 price tag. Nice atmosphere
The food was great as well as our drinks. Our waiter gave us great suggestions and even gave us some history about the building! Overall we loved our date night at the Charthouse
To celebrate our granddaughter's 24th birthday the Chart House Restaurant fit the bill in her desire for seafood for herself and steak for her boy friend. From the atmosphere, service and food everything was top notch. Everyone really appreciated the time given to converse among ourselves between the courses presented on this evening. Looking for that place to dine for that special event in the family or just to go out for dinner. Look no further than the Chart House to meet your needs.
Our Lobster was fantastic. I loved how they took it out of the shell for us.
Food was great, service was great only negative was courses were stacked. Next course came out before finishing current course.
After not having been on vacation in a while I reserved a table at the Chart house. We arrived 10 minutes early, seated and waited 15 minutes before being greeted. Once our food was ordered we waited about 35 minutes before following up on our food order. We again waited another 15 minutes. Waited on CHK for 20 mins. Food was good, value was what I was expecting. But overall not a place I would go back to. Not a 5 class place I was expecting.
Location is awesome and if you can get a table with a table view or if weather is good, patio looked great. Food was amazing. They were very under staffed so service was slow.
Great food good service although prime rib just a bit chewy!
Although somewhat pricey, the steaks were good. Waiter was excellent but slow. Asparagus & potatoes were not the best. Spinach chopped salad was impressively simple yet good. Either way a good place to eat with a nice vibe
Sadly this was not a great experience - food very slow to come out - ordered glass of wine with mean but had finished and ready for charck before it even arrived - no explanation/ apologies by waiter - only good thing was the location on the pier
Sad because other chart houses are excellent
Was a wonderful Birthday Dinner at the Chart House, would recommend to any seafood lover!
We have never had a bad experience at the Chart House. The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly, and the ambiance is inviting. You cannot go wrong with the Chart House.
Food was cold and service was slow. It may be better during the week.
Very loud. Very slow service. Servers overwhelmed
We love the Chart House because they never disappoint. Great food, great service, nice beverage selection and a wonderful menu for a somewhat picky crowd. The outdoor dining was nice. The music selection seemed off and more like a fast food place than fine dining in an upscale restaurant in Boston.
They desperately need more help here.
Very good food as always. Very friendly wait staff and our waiter was excellent. Excellent ambiance inside. We always go here in August for either or Anniversary or my birthday as well as many other dinners.
Great food. Very expensive. Good selection of gluten free items.
If I could give the service for this place 10 stars I would. The atmosphere is great, the food delicious, and our sever was phenomenal.
We were graciously welcomed and given the choice to eat inside or outside. We chose outside which ended up not being especially attractive or cool but everything else about the experience was great. Food was delicious and server accommodated our tight time frame. Would definitely return. It is also a perfect location for anyone wanting to take the MBTA ferry from Long Wharf.
Great evening and fabulous food. Really enjoyed yourselves here and can’t wait to return in the future.
CHART house was very quiet and romantic. Check out the menu before you go.
Delicious food, especially prime rib, shrimp, and mud pie. The Chart House in Boston never disappoints! Service is also incredible.
We ordered the crab stuffed shrimp, lobster stuffed scrod, and the mac nut mahi. All meals were good but nothing great about them, especially for the price. We had a couple of drinks as well which were ok, but again, nothing great for the price. Service was decent overall, it was busy so things took a while and the server didn't know much about the menu so he had to keep asking the kitchen.
We absolutely enjoyed a delightful and delicious afternoon on their Patio.
Bravos to Omar for his gracious TLC and attentive, meticulous Service.
An outstanding 5 Star experience in every respect !
Food was very good. Our server tried but made several mistakes. Strange bass noise outside.
The waiter was overextended. Coffee came twenty minutes before the dessert. Continued to wait on new tables while we waited what seemed forever for dessert
