Very disappointed, had a reservation at 7:15 hostess said no inside tables available. Had to wait 30 minutes. Bought 2 filets that were under warming light so long that we burnt ourselves when picking up the knife. And touched the plate. Our waiter seemed annoyed to wait on us, and I had to walk up to register to have him add oysters to our order as he was not to be found.
Total experience was underwhelming..
Despite having reservations we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated.
The food was quite good. However, the service was absolutely terrible.
Service was slow. I suspect understaffed. When food came out the taste was good but could have been warmer
Chart House does a great job and the historic building provides a really special ambiance. The service was very enjoyable and our server Omar was attentive and extremely fit! The Food was Landrys caliber, but everything was perfectly prepared and plated beautifully.
Took my wife who has a Gluten allergy. They were very accommodating to offer GF versions of some of their menu. The quality and taste of the food was outstanding! Presentation was good, nothing too fancy. Tables we spread apart for COVID and our waiter was superb with the recommendations. Great wine list, beer not so much. Delicious cocktails. The ambience is very rustic and warm, cozy and elegant. The background music was a bit louder than it should be and the music selection was in contrast to the ambience. Easy to get there (next to the aquarium) and plenty of parking (expensive though!!) Highly recommend this restaurant on food alone, everything else is just bonus. Its very romantic at night, especially around the wharf...
Service was horrible from start to finish. Food was decent.
Pretty pricey for the experience. Service was good. Food was ok. We were seated downstairs -maybe upstairs is nicer.
Took my wife out for her birthday while visiting Boston. Food and service was excellent. We were staying at Marriott Pulse and it was just a short walk from there.
Oldie but goodie! Great views. Food was excellent. Bathrooms & carpeting need some help!
We had the filet Mignon it was wonderful.
Our server Joseph was exceptional, such a nice man.
It's been a long time since eating at the chart house
I had dinner the other night and really enjoyed myself
Food was good, service was good
Glad we went back
Great time, great meal.
We loved the Chart House!
Always great food. Crab is my favorite, this did not disappoint.
Everything fantastic minor service delay for drinks
If you like Lobster, then go there!
I went there on the restaurant week, so I got the special Salmon, Salad and dessert. My husband had Lobster and it looked great! Too bad I'm allergic.
We had a good Beringer blend wine, worth to try it. They have it by the glass.
Outstanding service, a beautiful building, and excellent food!
We went to dinner for our anniversary. The food and cocktails were amazing and our server Milan was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our needs. We had oysters to start flowed by amazing clam chowder. Milan helped me pick the maple glazed salmon on jasmine rice, it was one of the best pieces of fish i’ve ever had! My husband had the prime-rib which was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. He was even able to substitute the potatoes for asparagus instead. We can’t wait to come back for dinner again soon!
Food was excellent we had a very knowledgeable and attentive server named Joseph.
Excellent food, waited 5-10min to be seated with reservation.
Perfect proximity to everything food was delicious and plentiful service was outstanding and ambience just what you would be looking for.
We when not being very hungry and still managed to eat well.
We love this place. The food, the drinks, and the service are always excellent. Try the Ahi Tuna, you will not be disappointed.
Overall was a bad night, not sure if it was due to current times, under staff or what but was a bad night.
Was overbooked and had to wait about 30 mins to be seated. Service was extremely slow throughout, and spotty at best. Food was excellent, but server neglected to ask for drink refills, how food was, and the was not timely whatsoever. It seemed consistent across the board that all tables were experiencing the same service issues.
Excellent prime rib and wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Food disappointing . Incredibly small portion on Mahi dish & all ends of asparagus in couscous.
Wine was good
Service was very good.
Table setup was banquet like.
Horrible experience. The server rushed us when ordering. Salads came out after 30 minutes. Dinner was served after 1 hour and 10 minutes, it had clearly been sitting as the rice was dried out. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake that was burnt for my wife and still thawing for myself, the ice cream was good though. Although my food was dry, it was decent. My wife really enjoyed her lobster in scrod. I feel bad for leaving a bad review but for an upscale restaurant, with the price tag to boot, a certain level of service must be standard; these deviations must be addressed by management.
Not sure if they had enough staff on, didn’t seem like it. Waited 40 mins for two drinks. Before we could even put food in. 20 for second round. Just need more support.
The service was extremely slow. It appeared they took too many reservations for the staff they had working. I went on a Thursday night and sat on the patio. The atmosphere was great and the food tasted good when it finally came but it took over 2 hours to get our food. We ordered 2 fish entrees and our kids ordered bisque and salad so none of it should have required 2 hours.
Friday lunch at end of Dine Out Boston was excellent. My partner ordered chowder and steak salad. Chowder was among the best we (yes, me too!) have eaten. I ordered off the Lunch Box ($18) option: two courses. Caesar salad and fish sandwich. We sat near a couple who are frequent diners at Chart House. Their options looked great, and they are big fans of Chart House. Long Wharf area of Boston pretty quiet for a Friday afternoon; but people are just starting to venture out again now that vaccine seems plentiful. We were very happy to be back at a Chart House after a long dry spell.
The food was worth the price. Try and get a table by the window. I also liked the playlist - it was a great mix.
This was a terrible dining experience. We weren’t given the dine out menu’s, when we told the waiter we wanted to do the dine out he rolled his eyes and said do you want drinks? My husband ordered a beer and I ordered sparkling water, before I got a chance to ask him for ice on the side, he said no wine?? Grabbed the wine list and took off. ( I don’t drink and my husband is a beer drinker). We ordered the soup on the dine out menu, he came to tell us it was out and we had to get the salad- again before I could ask for no crumbed blue cheese he took off. I didn’t touch my salad, when someone else came to deliver our food he asked if I was working on the salad, I said no I don’t like blue cheese and my waiter didn’t give me a chance, he just brushed off what I said and dropped our prime rib that was clearly dry crusted on top as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Our waiter never came by again to ask how everything was. With desert I like coffee. Our waiter came, dropped the deserts and the check again never giving me the opportunity to order coffee. As he dropped the check he said to my husband you have been here before. Which we never have. I said that was the worst service he must have though we were terrible people who remembered. We live in the area we eat out a lot and do dine out for fun to try places we haven’t been and if we had a good experience would certainly go back to. I did tell the manager in duty but she seemed a little overwhelmed.
Awesome place to be in. Great food, friendly staff.
Usually my experience here isn’t really bad. But this time our food and drinks took a LONG time to even order, and get. Like 15 min long each wait, oh water 15 min later, my cup had like slime on the rim running down, another 15 min wait for him to come by then 10 min later for new water. Oh god like everything was soooooooo dragged out. The food was great but timing and drinks were horrrid. Mango Mojito tasted like water down mango syrup, the espresso martini was disgusting. But my meal tho... the spicy ahi tuna was superb tho, that’s it.
Horrible experience. We had a 7:30pm reservation and didn’t get seated until 8:00pm. We then did not get a server after asking for one. We walked out at 8:30pm with the worst service experience at a restaurant.
Nice location and nice atmosphere, but the service was slow and the food was overpriced.
Service was poor. Ordered items were wrong multiple times including cocktails. Took 3 hours to complete the dinner. Over the 90 minute limit.
We waited 20 minutes before a server came to our table and that was after we asked the Hostess to let someone know we existed. And while the prices are high, the food was only average.
The food was delicious, the waitstaff were nearly nonexistent. We were seated immediately literally right next to the food pickup/kitchen area so there was constantly some one saying excuse me or reaching/hovering over us(no thank you) I noticed this as soon as we were seated and requested a seat change only to be ignored. it took forever to get bread and our drink order taken. Once taken it took a while for it to come out, we never got plates for bread until I asked for them, we never got offered refills on our drinks. If the food wasn’t good and the nice guy doing valet this place would get a 1 star rating. For service and horrible seating alone. Great for takeout
