First visit to Boston and Chart house. Made a great choice, food was great and the service was even better. The shrimp, crab, mango stack is really good and the prime rib is close to perfect. Our server Gene was the best part, nice helpful and made the evening great. Thank you for a great first dinner in Boston

We have always loved the Chart House but we’re very disappointed to be seated in a small congested ground level area where there was a very loud group next to us. The upper levels of the restaurant was reserved for parties, which I feel should be noted when booking. Our table was not in a desirable area and my husband and I could not hear each other speak. Our appetizers were forgotten(again, too busy with the functions).

The last couple of times we dined at the Chart House, 2016, 2017...the service was so-so. A waiter that we felt was trying to move us along. Took away my young daughter's plate, without asking etc. We didn't visit in 2018.

This time, in nov 2019, our waiter "Tristam" was excellent, a true professional. Explained the historical basis of the building, the various specials, his own favorites, quite helpful. All goes to show, hire solid professionals like Tristam, and people will notice.

Service was very good. 6 of us ate, 3 liked the meal , 3 did not. Noise level was very high due to a loud and obnoxious group of eight at the next table. We were also seated next to the kitchen door which was not pleasant. 4 of the 6 said they would not return.
As for me, the overall experience was poor.

Delicious Blood Orange Sage non-alcoholic beverage before devouring warm freshly baked bread with supple and light flavors leading to perfectly steamed vegetables and melt in your mouth filet mignon. Ambiance, waiter Ighor and delicacies make this a place to visit and keep visiting!!!! Thanks to the Chef.

Excellent lunch with my family after a fun day in Boston. Was so happy to have Joseph as our server. He is so friendly and always gives such a warm welcome which is why I keep coming back. I was with my sister and two young nieces who received a wonderful lesson on the history of The Chart House from Joseph. I was so impressed and learned a lot myself. It was wonderful and his delivery was just perfect. Our food was excellent. I love that I can come back a week later and have the exact same dish and it is perfect each time! All 4 of us enjoyed our lunch selection. We also enjoyed the chocolate cake and a raspberry sorbet for dessert. I can't wait to come in again real soon! What a nice treat.

Our meal took over 2 hours and the restaurant was not busy. It seemed the waiter was serving the other tables faster. Overall inattentive staff. Never saw the manager. At one point a nice young woman took our order but she wasn’t ours.

Coconut fried shrimp is a MUST try! The lobster stuffed scrod might have a lot of calories, but it’s worth it. Great service, and overall dining experience. We will be back for date night!

We had the best waiter tristen. He was very attentive and gave us suggestions as well as gave us a history of the restaurant. He was very funny and made the night special. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable but high end. Interesting building.

Perfect , this was my first date with this woman and she was impressed
I'm from the sticks and coming to the chart house on long warf was a cool adventure .
Coming in on route 2 seeing the Boston skyline in Arlington then snaking you way through cambridge to end up at longwarf, the journey was part of the date.

Waiter didn’t know the menu. Didn’t come back to check on us. Done eating and drinks empty for 20 minutes and we had to go ask at the bar for our check, and they seemed annoyed that we were asking. Food was delicious though. I had the lobster stuffed scrod and my friend had a thai soup and salad and we were both very happy.

We always try to visit this place for the seafood every time we are in Boston. A bit out of our way, however, it is almost always worth it for the Clam Chowder or (yummy) the Tuna Tartar. Staff are always friendly and we can always forgive any tardiness because of how busy they always seem to be - plus it often gives us the chance to introduce ourselves to other nearby diners.
If there is a failing, then it is that the bar scene always seems subdued which can put a dampener on the evening if you want to have an after dinner drink.

What a great restaurant! We always make a dinner reservation at the Chart House whenever in Boston and, after at least 8 years in a row, it has always provided us with a broad array of seafood starters and entrees continually worthy of the highest ratings.
The lobster bisque is an automatic!

I have eaten at numerous Chart House restaurants over the years. This was by far my least favorite. Tables were overly crowded together and the noise level was atrociously loud. The food was okay, but it might have been a regional thing. It was not up to the standards of our home cooking but we are trained and well-known for our cooking in our area. I would not go to this particular Chart House again.

We'd already had lunch at the Chart House and enjoyed that so decided to go back for an evening meal. We were actually surprised at how busy the restaurant was for our early evening meal. This lead to the restaurant being a little noisier than we would have preferred. My only other comment would be that the lighting was quite low to provide a certain ambiance but the result was I struggled to read the menu without using the torch on my phone.
The food was absolutely superb. I had the Sweet and Spicy Halibut which was beautifully cooked and presented. Really enjoyable and one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. My wife had the Filet Mignon which she said was the most flavoursome filet she had ever had.
Pricing was very reasonable. Overall we had a great night and would recommend the Chart House for either lunch or dinner in Boston.

Despite making a reservation we had to wait to be seated and got stuck in the corner where the staff proceeded to forget about us for the rest of the night. The only bright spot was the food.

I made the reservation several weeks ago as I was traveling to Boston to celebrate a special occasion during this dinner. Was seated at a table right in front of the waitress station/kitchen. There should not be a table in this space. It is noisy and the guest of honor almost had a few very loaded trays of food dumped on her. One tray came particularly close and the waiter did apologize.

At the time of taking our entrees the waiter mentioned a dessert that would require half an hour to prepare. We let him know at that time we would like to order one. However, after dinner he brought us our check (which did not include a charge for the dessert) and did not bring us our dessert. He said he thought we didn't order one. However, we made it clear we were celebrating a special occasion and that we did want the dessert. Maybe he misunderstood because we were seated in a noisy and busy spot.

Extremely disappointing and left a bad impression on the relatives I was hosting. Won't be back.

Very disappointed this time. Food & service were good but the placement of table was awful as we were next to the turn of the stairs to the 3rd floor. People were going up and down the stairs, and the dust on the shoes and carpet could be seen as they were going up the stairs. It was also very loud since there was a large party that was going up and down those same stairs. There should not be a table placed there. Very poor choice of table placement. It provided a very poor experience not because of food and service.

They were busy outside at lunch it was a nice day out! However I guess their bartender called out so the servers had to run and get drinks which slowed things down quite a bit. Food was good we had the lobster roll warmed and Avacado stack! Nice view though!

Seated on the 1st floor at a table that was placed so that both servers and patrons bumped into us in order to get to/from their tables. We are not big people and did not have our chairs pushed away from the table.

Our table was not ready so we sat in the bar waiting for 20 minutes. We ended up taking a table on the 3rd floor which turned into a blessing. Igor was a great waiter and we could talk with no problem. Food was well prepared and
nicely served. The Kim Cher Calamari and Halibut was definitely worth a return visit. A special dinner in Boston.

Have been a few times but this time we were disappointed. Chowder was very salty and not true New England. Too many Asian themed meals and the lobster stuffed schrod was described as lobster in every bite when the truth was I had to go looking to see if there even was any in there. Have had better food for half the price at other nice restaurants

We love this place! We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and ,although very overworked, gave us very good service. My wife started off with the Lobster Bisque and it was delicious! I had the New England Clam Chowder and it was just ok. I've had many better, especially in Boston. My wife had the Caprese Chicken Salad and I had the Chicken Cobb Salad and they were both very good. We finished it off with a piece of Cheese Cake which was rather disappointing. It had obviously come from a cardboard box in the freezer and tasted as such.
