We had the best waiter tristen. He was very attentive and gave us suggestions as well as gave us a history of the restaurant. He was very funny and made the night special. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable but high end. Interesting building.
Perfect , this was my first date with this woman and she was impressed
I'm from the sticks and coming to the chart house on long warf was a cool adventure .
Coming in on route 2 seeing the Boston skyline in Arlington then snaking you way through cambridge to end up at longwarf, the journey was part of the date.
Really enjoyed my lunch at this great restaurant. The service was impeccable. Thank-you Joseph! My favorite dish was perfect and really enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert. Also had a terrific lemon drop martini that was perfect! Can’t wait to return.
Waiter didn’t know the menu. Didn’t come back to check on us. Done eating and drinks empty for 20 minutes and we had to go ask at the bar for our check, and they seemed annoyed that we were asking. Food was delicious though. I had the lobster stuffed scrod and my friend had a thai soup and salad and we were both very happy.
This restaurant is just so beautiful. The service was outstanding and the food was great! It checks all the boxes you look for.
We always try to visit this place for the seafood every time we are in Boston. A bit out of our way, however, it is almost always worth it for the Clam Chowder or (yummy) the Tuna Tartar. Staff are always friendly and we can always forgive any tardiness because of how busy they always seem to be - plus it often gives us the chance to introduce ourselves to other nearby diners.
If there is a failing, then it is that the bar scene always seems subdued which can put a dampener on the evening if you want to have an after dinner drink.
What a great restaurant! We always make a dinner reservation at the Chart House whenever in Boston and, after at least 8 years in a row, it has always provided us with a broad array of seafood starters and entrees continually worthy of the highest ratings.
The lobster bisque is an automatic!
I have eaten at numerous Chart House restaurants over the years. This was by far my least favorite. Tables were overly crowded together and the noise level was atrociously loud. The food was okay, but it might have been a regional thing. It was not up to the standards of our home cooking but we are trained and well-known for our cooking in our area. I would not go to this particular Chart House again.
Great food great service and the lava cake is to die for and definitely worth the wait
We'd already had lunch at the Chart House and enjoyed that so decided to go back for an evening meal. We were actually surprised at how busy the restaurant was for our early evening meal. This lead to the restaurant being a little noisier than we would have preferred. My only other comment would be that the lighting was quite low to provide a certain ambiance but the result was I struggled to read the menu without using the torch on my phone.
The food was absolutely superb. I had the Sweet and Spicy Halibut which was beautifully cooked and presented. Really enjoyable and one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. My wife had the Filet Mignon which she said was the most flavoursome filet she had ever had.
Pricing was very reasonable. Overall we had a great night and would recommend the Chart House for either lunch or dinner in Boston.
Slow service, mediocre food which was surprising considering reputation.
WEnt for Halloween night pre-fix menu, Prime rib was excellent!
Despite making a reservation we had to wait to be seated and got stuck in the corner where the staff proceeded to forget about us for the rest of the night. The only bright spot was the food.
Our dinner was incredably good. We had oysters and steak. The wine list was excelent. The service was a bit slow, but we were not in a hurry. Can't wait to go back.
All around amazing experience! Highly recommend!
I made the reservation several weeks ago as I was traveling to Boston to celebrate a special occasion during this dinner. Was seated at a table right in front of the waitress station/kitchen. There should not be a table in this space. It is noisy and the guest of honor almost had a few very loaded trays of food dumped on her. One tray came particularly close and the waiter did apologize.
At the time of taking our entrees the waiter mentioned a dessert that would require half an hour to prepare. We let him know at that time we would like to order one. However, after dinner he brought us our check (which did not include a charge for the dessert) and did not bring us our dessert. He said he thought we didn't order one. However, we made it clear we were celebrating a special occasion and that we did want the dessert. Maybe he misunderstood because we were seated in a noisy and busy spot.
Extremely disappointing and left a bad impression on the relatives I was hosting. Won't be back.
Very disappointed this time. Food & service were good but the placement of table was awful as we were next to the turn of the stairs to the 3rd floor. People were going up and down the stairs, and the dust on the shoes and carpet could be seen as they were going up the stairs. It was also very loud since there was a large party that was going up and down those same stairs. There should not be a table placed there. Very poor choice of table placement. It provided a very poor experience not because of food and service.
Food was not hot and server was not friendly
It was a good for a birthday dinner date
Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, loved the staff
They were busy outside at lunch it was a nice day out! However I guess their bartender called out so the servers had to run and get drinks which slowed things down quite a bit. Food was good we had the lobster roll warmed and Avacado stack! Nice view though!
Food is always fantastic at chart house. Best steak I’ve ever had. Will be going again when I’m in area.
Seated on the 1st floor at a table that was placed so that both servers and patrons bumped into us in order to get to/from their tables. We are not big people and did not have our chairs pushed away from the table.
Their lobster stuffed scrod was perhaps the best seafood dish I have had at any restaurant ever. The four of us loved it.
Our table was not ready so we sat in the bar waiting for 20 minutes. We ended up taking a table on the 3rd floor which turned into a blessing. Igor was a great waiter and we could talk with no problem. Food was well prepared and
nicely served. The Kim Cher Calamari and Halibut was definitely worth a return visit. A special dinner in Boston.
Have been a few times but this time we were disappointed. Chowder was very salty and not true New England. Too many Asian themed meals and the lobster stuffed schrod was described as lobster in every bite when the truth was I had to go looking to see if there even was any in there. Have had better food for half the price at other nice restaurants
We love this place! We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and ,although very overworked, gave us very good service. My wife started off with the Lobster Bisque and it was delicious! I had the New England Clam Chowder and it was just ok. I've had many better, especially in Boston. My wife had the Caprese Chicken Salad and I had the Chicken Cobb Salad and they were both very good. We finished it off with a piece of Cheese Cake which was rather disappointing. It had obviously come from a cardboard box in the freezer and tasted as such.
We have been to this Chart House many times. Love the location, ambiance, service and food : they are all terrific.
The restaurant is nestled in a landmark building on Boston Harbor. Starting w the bread basket, the appetizers and Fresh fish and steaks and great desserts make this must visit destination.
It was a lovely evening especially for a last minute decision. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and overall it was wonderful anniversary dinner!
Food outstanding, waiter (Igor) was phenomenal. Beautiful inside.... tables are a bit close is the only thing they might want to reconsider.
Always confident, a friendly staff and all kinds of innovated cocktails.
Great service!!! The ambiance is great. The food was pleasant and the drinks where fantastic.
Good food lively and a little noisy but it was Saturday night. Service good although had to wait a while for reserved table.
cool place to have dinner and see history where John Hancock did his counting. BUT 2.5 hours for a dinner for two is unacceptable. VERY SLOW service. I could have watched paint dry faster.
We arrived early and we seated early food excellent and service was great.
It was so poor that I have already sent an email to manager. Food and service were subpar. . The host was rude .
We both had the Filet mignon which was excellent. Finished off with the chocolate lava cake. Great dinner.
Outstanding food, atmosphere and views.
We had a window table overlooking the pier. The prime rib was cooked perfectly. The service was
Great. Our server suggested a side of mushrooms with the beef and he was right. They paired beautifully. My Margarita was delicious.
