Great service and food was outstanding! Will return for another dinner.
We were sat at 6:30. At 7:15 we flagged down a waiter to have someone get us water. No one had stopped by our table. My guest was a recovering alcoholic, so we ordered Sparkling water. This seemed to annoy our server who seemed disappointed we were not ordering drinks. We had a delicious Mango appetizer! By 8 pm we had to track down our server to get our order taken. I ordered shrimp & scallops and they were delicious, but felt it was a tiny amount of food for the money, although I subbed creamed spinach for the rice since I’m on the KETO diet. We did not have dessert and still it took until after 9 to get our check. We left at 9:30, 3 hours after our reservation, although we did talk a lot. The sun was in my eyes, so I had to flag down someone to lower the shade. You should have bus boys scanning the room occasionally looking for this and lowering the shades, or just do it as a policy since you know the sun is bright in your dining room at sunset. The manager cane to our table to check in around 9:15. We didn’t bother to give feedback at that point. He should make the rounds through the dining room much earlier and more often. Then he would have noticed we didn’t have water for 45 minutes. I don’t mean to sound rude, I’m just trying to be helpful so you can fix these issues and be successful.
Everything was wonderful. Got to enjoy some good family time.
The food was quite good. We ordered the fish and they were well cooked and tasty. The service was not good however. It was not very busy at all and our server Garrett basically forgot about us after we got water and then again after we got our drinks. He just didnt come back until about 20 minutes later when I had to flag him down.
Absolutely a gorgeous might and a well liked atmosphere
We had both fish and prime rib and both were done perfectly and tasted great! We had a very attentive waiter, not to mention very good looking and setting was peaceful and relaxing!
This is our favorite restaurant in Annapolis. The bruschetta plate is unbelievable and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. Plus, you can't beat the view as the sun sets over Annapolis.
We celebrated Mother’s Day on Monday so we found the dining room quiet and easy to get a seat by the window. Our food was delicious and our server was great. We will definitely come again.
Ambience was pleasant but food was mediocre at best, and not worthy of cost. The salad bar is located at the main entrance with guests waiting around for tables. Total turn off. Very disappointed.
It was an excellent place to dine on Mother's Day and the service on this occasion was great.
The view on the water is the best thing about this restaurant. The service is not bad keeping in mind it was Mother's Day. The room was too cold as I could see people wearing coats while eating I asked the waiter to address this and he got the manager (who was dressed like a hobo) who did not bother to come to our table or address the A/C he simply walked by the thermostats and basically ignored us. The food is bland and uninspired. Will probably not eat here again.
Lava cake was a touch overcooked, but still delicious. Otherwise it was an excellent place to spend our Anniversary dinner.
Chart house has a great atmosphere with view of water as if you’re on a ship. The salad bar is huge and always delicious. Our service was excellent. Having ordered the stuffed flounder I was very disappointed that it was stuffed with snow crab and not blue crab. Of all places Annapolis should have blue crab available in the restaurants since the season has already begun.
I worked in Annapolis for awhile and always heard great things about Chart House but never managed to get there. I made the reservation for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The views from every table were fantastic and the food was wonderful. Tasted very fresh, it was colorful and hadn't been sitting in the expo window for any length of time.
Many people asked about my Mother's day celebration and I explained to them that this weekend is always shared with my husband because today is his birthday. As part of his celebration we've visited the Chart House restaurant past 10+ years. It's always an exceptional dining experience which we continue to enjoy!
Enjoyed our first visit because of the service and ambiance. Food was Ok. I expected more. But may visit again and try different selections.
Great view! Good atmosphere. Our fish was a little dry. It was an expensive plate, and was only so-so tasting. Rockfish.
The wait was excessive even with a reservation and then once seated, it took over 15 minutes to get a glass of water. We ordered drinks and due to the continued delays, we closed our check and ate elsewhere
Great food! Distracted service. Nice location
Great experience, food, service, and atmosphere was excellent.
I have been a chart house patron for many years. This is only the second time I have had some concerns about the service. It was very noisy and congested although they were setting up for a special function “JC 40”. The service was disruptive . Our waiter forgot my husband request for a glass of wine , 45 minutes , he did apologize and told us he forgot. Our calamari was cold when it came to the table, he never offered us bread . My husband ordered a dinner and I only had a soup and salad. Our soup came right after the calamari was set down and my salad 5 minutes after that, my husband dinner came 20 minutes after that. My salad tasted like it had been refrigerated over night! The rock fish was superb could not have been better. Not what you usually find at this restaurant!
We have a tradition of going to the Chart House for brunch the week before Mother's Day. Unfortunately, the menu hasn't change much in the least the last 10 years. We thoroughly enjoy the salad bar, which is fabulous and the best part about the brunch. However, the main brunch courses have much to be desired . Two of our party ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was extremely thick and the crab cake was mostly, as one of my party stated, filler and Old Bay very little crab. He only eat one of the cakes and we didn't take the other half home. One person had the Macadamia Nut French Toast, which was good.
We will return again next year, however, we will order only the salad bar and possibly an appetizer instead of the complete meal. As I said before, the salad bar is fabulous! Oh, by the way our waiter was wonderful and had a great sense of humor!
The waiter Mark was superb! We will definitely be coming back!
I added as a special note in my reservations that it was my friends birthday and I pre-ordered a lava cake and asked for a candle. Nothing was brought nor mentioned. Our server was very off that night. He was not pleasant and it was a disappointment, especially because it was a special evening and I wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate his birthday.
Beautiful view from table by window - thanks to the ladies at reception. Our meal was well-prepared and well-presented. Outstanding service - Ryan even stuffed some olives for our martinis. Very enjoyable evening.
The Chart House seems to be declining in a number of criteria lately, with food quality being the worst. Had some hit or miss experiences in Boston, Longboat Key and Philly, with some really disappointing experiences in Weehawken and Annapolis. The only experience I can rave about in recent memory is Alexandria.
The reality is that the food has gone down hill and it is obviously something pretty universal. Small shrimp in the cocktails, dry fish entrees and clearly NOT prime cuts of meat. The evening started out beautifully when we arrived 5 minutes early and were immediately seated (this would never happen in Weekawken) and our waiter was right there to greet us. He had bread and drinks on the table quickly and was very on the ball about my dates dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, once again we were let down by the food.
First of all, the shrimp are tiny, end of story. Both Ruth's Chris and Mortons have bigger shrimp for roughly the same price...they were chilled perfectly, but small. We had a Rockfish entree and a NY Strip and this is where it went off the rails. The crab stuffing was dry, almost brittle and had the consistency of tuna in a can and the steak was downright awful to the point where I could only even eat half of it. As it cooled and became tougher and stringier. Why does the Chart House continue to pass off "choice" cuts as "Prime". The steak had pockets and fat and tendon running throughout. Charge me $20 bucks for that and I won't complain, charge me $40+ and it immediately becomes a garbage meal.
The mushroom side was excellent as was the cake and the sorbet we had for dessert, but that meal was just honestly terrible.
I think it might be time to realize that what was once my favorite restaurant has seen better days and that $200+ for dinner should not be wasted at a place that doesn't try and relies on location and ambiance to justify high prices.
Loved the food! Ambience was great, but a little loud. Beautiful restaurant right on the water with a great view!
I took my wife here for her Birthday and she had a great time. We sat by the windows so we could lookout at the Annapolis Harbor and we caught a beautiful sunset in the back drop of the harbor. The food is delicious nothing was over cooked every dish we ordered came out perfect. The drinks were nicely done but she said her Moscato Sangria was a little weak, but everything else was great even our server Phyllis see was on point with everything else. I will try the other Chart House in Alexandria, Va sometime soon. One of my Newly favorite Restaurant
What a great way to spend an Anniversary. The setting on the water was perfect, the service was incredible and the food, delicious!! We will be back.
I really enjoyed our table. It had the perfect view. Our server Brandon, was amazing. He was very attentive and gave us some great dessert recommendations. Overall, great experience.
We have dined at the Chart House on a number of occasions, and it's always very good. On this particular occasion, the evening was a bit uneven due to the full-house of wedding and graduation events. The noise level was almost deafening and wait staff were running through the aisles. In spite of these minor issues, the food was terrific. We will return ... but will return on a week day evening to avoid the crowds for a more intimate dining experience.
I love this place. Services excellent food most often are very good. Above all its friendly staff makes it a great place to have a family gathering.
Very Disappointed. Been to Chart House many time and knew it was pricey but a good meal. But this time the food was not as good as expected. One diner set back her crab cake, it was "mush". The other dinners were fair to excellent. We will not return! We also noted that Chart House was only half full, it used to be hard to get a table. The only positive was it was Wednesday and the sail boat races were fun to watch.
Overall it was good. A little disappointed with the server as he was slow and very forgetful.
The dining experience was excellent! From the ease of making the reservation to the dessert, it made for a memorable dining night.
Amazing attention to detail!
My prime rib dinner was not edible, couldn't even chew it. They said they had a new chef.
The other two diners said that there dinners were very good, both had seafood.
Our waiter was very slow.
We were there on a Monday night, so not super busy. Great food and service as usual, with plenty of free parking.
I haven't been for a while and was surprised with the new decor. Doesn't have the same feel as before. It's doesn't have that island feel i loved so much. Anyway service was great, as usual. We ordered the kim chee calamari which was a huge portion and absolutely delicious. One of the best appetizers ive ever had. Definitely the best calamari ive ever had. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the main entree. I ordered the prime rib and baked potato. The meat was just ok. On the thin side and very very fatty. More fat then meat. I asked for a baked potato instead of garlic mashed potatoes and they charged me extra which I thought was a bit petty. If ur paying $35 for a steak you should be able to pick ur side. The potato was gigantic though. Easily enough for 2 people. My bf got the alaskan king crab legs and he loved them. He got about 1.5 lbs for $56 which is pricy but they were cooked perfectly! The salad bar is extra too but it's worth it just for the blue cheese dressing. Omg! The waiter also brought over a free mud pie for dessert since it was my birthday which I thought was a very nice touch. I would go again but I would just stick to the appetizers and salad bar.
Great food, great location, exceptional service. Really get your money’s worth.
