Brandon was a great server. Food was very good.
It was wonderful for are 16 th wedding anniversary
Beginning with the Chart house greeter thru our main server and her support staff our birthday dining experience was wonderful . Nice touch as the "G.M." stopped by EACH table with a friendly "welcome".
As a side note, I routinely send many boaters over from The Yacht Basin company marina...and our guests thank us for the suggestion.
This was, hands down, one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have ever had. My husband ordered a NY Strip steak -- $39 -- with chimichurri butter (extra few dollars). There were strips of plastic wrap melted in with the butter, which we pointed out to our waiter a few times because he kept finding long strips of plastic. My mother also ordered a NY Strip steak, which was overly salted to the point of being inedible. We sent it back, and the new steak did not arrive until the rest of us had finished entrees. Our waiter was apologetic, but remarkably, could not find a manager and we never once saw the manager to discuss the issues. Nor were they addressed. If I were running a restaurant, I would be mortified if my guests found plastic wrap in their food. What a terrible 18th birthday celebration for my daughter. Our bill came to slightly less than $500 for 10 people. Despite the lovely ambiance and great view, we won't go back, and it is really unfortunate since it is has been a staple for family celebrations for years.
The Chart House is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions and impressing out of town guests for dinner. We are warmly greeted by name, our menus are personalized with our names and occasions, the view of the water is fabulous, and our server this evening was Alex, who made sure our dinner was served at the appropriate time (not in the middle of our salads). He was attentive without being obtrusive. We were visited by Gabby, the GM, and we had a wonderful conversation with him as we got to know him, and made sure we were well served that evening.
We love celebrating all our special occasions here, but I think any time we dine at the Chart House, it becomes a special occasion.
The service was top notch. The food delicious and the drinks ok. Great table overlooking the water. Would have been nice for the area to be lit. Had a great time with hubby and daughter.
Christian needs additional training as a server. When other wait staff warns you, that is a problem.
This visit was a bit of a disappointment. The advertised crab cake special lacked flavor. The lump crabmeat shown in the email photo was nonexistent. The entree was very slow to arrive and lukewarm at best ( probably forgotten by our waiter who tried to tell us the kitchen was just waiting to give us time to finish our appetizers). On the brighter side, the salad bar is still one of the best in town, and along with the cocktails and the mud pie dessert, we will likely return the next time we receive a large tax refund!
Nice time but overpriced for food and service. Lobster spring rolls had a hard wrapper and obviously not freshly made. Special $9.00 crab cakes had more lump meat on top than in the cake. Other food should have been hotter. Service was disjointed at times and servers could use a bit more training. Salad bar was not the great one it was in past years. Chart House to needs to step it up at these prices. The room is really beautiful with great water views since the remodel. Happy Hour is the best deal but you need to arrive early to get a seat.
My wife and I enjoyed a nice seafood dinner. She had the crab cake appetizer and the stuffed flounder while I had the shrimp, crab, avocado and mango tower appetizer with the snapper. We shared a mud pie for dessert. The food was exceptional, as was the service. We will be back.
I think I’ve become a broken record with reviews for the Chart House. My husband and I always enjoy it so much...the food, the drinks, the view and the always incredible servers (thanks Phyllis and Brandon!!). We highly recommend it for a fabulous evening!
A bit disappointing
A little disappointed with the quality of the prime rib...kind of tuff...and the kitchen staff may be a little over burdened as noted by the slower delivery of food to the servers.
The ambiance and food was worth the drive: however parking seemed limited.
Beautiful view. I asked for a window table, but they said it was unavailable... Thursday night 8pm not crowded at all... the put me right next to the service area and it felt uncomfortable
We had a lovely Thursday night meal during Annapolis Restaurant Week. Our first time at the Chart House. The wines by the glass were not unreasonable priced. The RW menu was small but everything was delicious. We had a caesar salad, shrimp spinach & artichoke linguini with tomato and feta, and mud pie (coffee & chocolate ice cream cake). Everything we are was delicious. The server was very nice. They meal did take a long time though. About 2 hrs from when we arrived to when we walked out the door.
We go to Chart House for special occasions, and every single time the food is just absolutely delicious. It is hands-down some of the best food I've ever had. The atmosphere is really nice - quiet, beautiful views of the water, nice decor. The servers are really professional and friendly. We definitely recommend it. They have a good happy hour deal, and restaurant week is also a good time to go for a great deal.
We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and the service was great. He really enjoyed his experience at Chart House.
Food was excellent.
What a wonderful view of Annapolis Harbor.
My sister and I came here for restaurant week this week. I must say we had an amazing experience. The ambiance was perfect. Loved the view of he water. The food was delicious. John and Ben were hilarious, friendly, helpful and simply awesome! My first course was the clam chowder. I wish it was a bit thicker but tasty. I ordered off the menu for another appetizer, the Kimchee calamari. OMG.... it was fabulous! Melt in your mouth good. Then, I had my entree. I chose the garlic shrimp and artichoke linguine and added a side of string beans. The noodles seem handmade. I liked it a lot! Finally, for dessert I had the cheesecake. It was the perfect ending. I had enough for leftovers. Again, I had a great experience and will be back for steak.
Always a favorite! Impeccable service and a divine meal. Great suggestions! Lovely ambience!
Everything was wonderful. We were seated right away and the hostess made a point to seek out our Mom who was the birthday girl. She even gave us menus that said Happy Birthday Mom at the top and of course our Mom was thrilled. Nice touch and the entire meal was so special. Thank you for paying attention to the details ! We loved everything and we will be back for sure !
Very pleased to be seated at a window table as we had out of town guests. Thank you for that! Phyllis was an attentive, pleasant waitress but we could not understand her which was frustrating. Crab dip as an appetizer was ‘pretty good’. Needs more lump crab though if you want to compete with other local restaurants. Parmesan encrusted fish, again, was just ‘pretty good’, not great. Filet mignon was very very good. Best part of the meal were the drinks and the desserts. The key lime pie, creme brûlée and cheesecake were all top notch.
My wife's food was cold when it came out and had to be reheated it in the kitchen. I had the Snapper and it tasted like it was cooked in a microwave. The salad bar is average and I remember it being a lot better than it was. Overall way too much money to pay for an average meal
This was our first time to Chart house and it was for a special occasion. They were expecting us and made our night EXTRA special. It was bustling but not overly loud. Great view and atmosphere. Our server was GREAT. This made our special night one to remember. Highly recommend!
My birthday dinner a week late and as a Landry member we decided to go out. Alex was our waiter and was very nice, respectful and efficient. Our food was good and a surprise birthday dessert made the meal special. I was traveling on my exact birth date so this was great.
My thanks to the restaurant.
We received a gift card as a present so we had dinner there in February. The restaurant is very pretty and on a nice day a window table would be great as it would look out on "ego alley", the Naval academy and downtown Annapolis. Our meal was good and the service was very good. Our only issue is that it is expensive. Our 2 meals with no alcohol was $97 plus tip. (we did have soup and a shared dessert) We also joined the Landry select club for an extra $25 but that is given back to you after you register on line. It was not explained very well to us so I am not sure if we would join it again. If we go back, it may be an OK deal. If interested, make sure that you understand it before paying the $25. This, in our opinion, is a "special occasion" restaurant due to its price. The view and quality of the food as well as the service may make it worth the price for many people.
On the day before Presidents Day, they were out of tuna. No explanation, no apologies offered.
Very disappointing. The waiter provided service as if he was a robot. Going through the motions of taking orders, bringing the food and the check. I paid with CC and signed. We ordered desert and coffee after which he presented the check. Again, I paid with CC and signed. I ordered another coffee and another check was brought to our table. I paid with CC and signed again. At no point did the waiter asked if we wanted to order more, or should he bring the check.
I am asking myself which one was dumber: the person that didn't order enough tuna for Presidents Day weekend, or the waiter. I'll never find out, because I am not going back.
John was an outstanding server. The hostesses and a couple other servers recognized me. The food, as always, was delicious.
Excellent experience!! Will definitely be returning
My husband and I went to the Chart House in Annapolis with another couple; it was both a birthday celebration and treating the other couple for extensive help with our tech set-up which the husband of the other couple had provided us for free. We had given them a choice of restaurant and they picked the Chart House. My husband and I had been there for a few special occasions over the years and I had also been there once with the ladies from our Bible study ; each of these previous experiences was superlative. During this most recent visit with our two friends, the atmosphere and view were terrific -- it was during a snowstorm -- and everything, from the cream of crab soup to the salad bar to each of the main course dishes, tasted lovely. The wife of the other couple had to order off the quite generous gluten-free menu and found the salmon to be delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine which turned out to be very good as well. Our server, Phyllis, was excellent. At the end, we received a yummy piece of coffee ice cream cake gratis because it was our friend's birthday. Altogether, it was a most pleasant evening and well worth making our way through the snowfall. We'll be back!
We had an excellent server, Brandon, very attentive and kind. My husband had the clam chowder, which he loved and I had the Caesar salad from the bar which was really good but just a tad too much dressing. He had the captains cut prime rib and I the blackened Ahi tuna medium rare and both were phenomenal. If you try the Ahi, go with the Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc, it was so smooth and went perfect with it. For desert we had a key lime pie and the apple and cherry crumble, the crumble was nothing short of amazing. Sweet and tart topped with a creamy vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend!
Drinks wasn’t so strong for the price but I love this place, 2nd time here, and I will be back again, please make the mango motito stronger, I mistaked it for a strawberry kiwi hi - c
I love the chart house! I have been here several times and they never let me down! Food and service is always great. I recommend reserving a table beforehand so you do not have to wait.
Great service here. Food was very good and the scenery was great. I would recommend this Annapolis gem to everyone...
As expected, the service and setting was perfect. Great location and beautiful sunset over old town Annapolis. That being stated, my wife had the stuffed flounder that was perfectly prepared, but the prime rib that I ordered was pedestrian. The meat was overly salted and the au jus tasted like it can out of a Swanson soup can. I am sure that others might enjoy the salty falvor, but it robbed the falvor of the meat. If I went again, I would ensure the request a lower sodium selection of meat.
We treated ourselves to 3 starters with a nice bottle of wine for our day after Valentine's day dinner on the 15th. We finished with the lava cake for dessert. One of our favorite places for a romantic dinner. We love dining here. Alex took care of us. He did a great job and made our 34th Valentine's Day special. Thank you Chart House!
Amazing meal and service, the only thing is that the restraint becomes very dark at night and it can be soothing to the point where you find yourself falling sleep after you’ve finished your meal.
Took my wife there for Valentine Day and everything was great. Location, service, food and scenery. I'm pretty sure between dinner and the rest of the evening made my wife fall in love with me all over again. Highly recommended
