Chart House Restaurant - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went to the Chart House in Annapolis with another couple; it was both a birthday celebration and treating the other couple for extensive help with our tech set-up which the husband of the other couple had provided us for free. We had given them a choice of restaurant and they picked the Chart House. My husband and I had been there for a few special occasions over the years and I had also been there once with the ladies from our Bible study ; each of these previous experiences was superlative. During this most recent visit with our two friends, the atmosphere and view were terrific -- it was during a snowstorm -- and everything, from the cream of crab soup to the salad bar to each of the main course dishes, tasted lovely. The wife of the other couple had to order off the quite generous gluten-free menu and found the salmon to be delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine which turned out to be very good as well. Our server, Phyllis, was excellent. At the end, we received a yummy piece of coffee ice cream cake gratis because it was our friend's birthday. Altogether, it was a most pleasant evening and well worth making our way through the snowfall. We'll be back!
We had an excellent server, Brandon, very attentive and kind. My husband had the clam chowder, which he loved and I had the Caesar salad from the bar which was really good but just a tad too much dressing. He had the captains cut prime rib and I the blackened Ahi tuna medium rare and both were phenomenal. If you try the Ahi, go with the Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc, it was so smooth and went perfect with it. For desert we had a key lime pie and the apple and cherry crumble, the crumble was nothing short of amazing. Sweet and tart topped with a creamy vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend!
As expected, the service and setting was perfect. Great location and beautiful sunset over old town Annapolis. That being stated, my wife had the stuffed flounder that was perfectly prepared, but the prime rib that I ordered was pedestrian. The meat was overly salted and the au jus tasted like it can out of a Swanson soup can. I am sure that others might enjoy the salty falvor, but it robbed the falvor of the meat. If I went again, I would ensure the request a lower sodium selection of meat.
We treated ourselves to 3 starters with a nice bottle of wine for our day after Valentine's day dinner on the 15th. We finished with the lava cake for dessert. One of our favorite places for a romantic dinner. We love dining here. Alex took care of us. He did a great job and made our 34th Valentine's Day special. Thank you Chart House!
Valentine's Day dinner. Wife orders salmon w/ avocado pico. I ordered a 9 oz. filet w/ truffle butter. Both entres were fantastic. Had crab dip as an appetizer. That was very tasty as well. Service was friendly and professional. Her timing was great. Food came out slightly longer than one might expect. However, given the fact that it was Valentine's Day that is easily forgiven. Overall a good dining experience. Will definitely make a second trip to this restaurant at some point in the near future.
Had a wonderful time with the wife for Valentines Day. Really could not have been better as far as the Chart House is concerned just wish the weather would have allowed a beautiful sunset to cap it off. Always has been my Favorite Maryland Restaurant. Can't wait to return.
My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day early with a reservation at Chart House. We tend to order the same things when we go because they are just so delicious, it’s hard to pass them up! If you like Oysters Rockefeller and Ahi Tuna, you’ve got to try the CH preparations of these two dishes. The other delight in going to the restaurant is being able to see our two favorite servers, Phyllis and Brandon. Both have such warm personalities and never leave you wanting for anything. And the view...it doesn’t get much better!! This place will always be high on our list!!
This was a very special occasion for my wife and I'm as it was her birthday, our anniversary, and a prequel to Valentines Day. We love the location, the view and the ambiance. I would highly recommend it to anyone for any occasion. The stuffed Red Snapper was delciious and the Crab dip one of the best.
We were there for my daughter's 16th birthday. Just a nice dinner out with some family and a few friends. Brandon, our waiter, was fabulous. He knew the menu superbly. He helped my sister with a wine pairing that she was very pleased with. He came around often enough to fill water glasses so was accessible if we needed anything without being intrusive. He picked up on the fact that my daughter is not fond of being the center of attention. So when he brought her cake with the candle, he was quiet and said a simple happy birthday Paula. The food was exquisite. I will always recommend The Chart House for dinner.
A friend and I celebrated our birthdays there. We sat by the fire which was awesome. The food and drink were great. The prime rib was excellent, she had the Filet of Sole and both were very good. Staff was excellent and were very busy yet they were attentive.
My son and his girlfriend had suggested your restaurant, and it was absolutely fabulous. They had suggested an early dinner time so we could see the sunset, with the lights starting to come on the shoreline across the way. Our waitress was extremely good, made a couple of suggestions that we appreciated.
My husband and I have dined here several times previously and have always had an enjoyable experience. This is the first time we have been here in about three years and we were extremely disappointed. The view and location are still outstanding but everything else was below what we have experienced before and below what we would expect for this establishment. We ordered two different appetizers and entrees. The only thing I would recommend was the Oysters Rockefeller, it was perfect. The other appetizer, a lobster and shrimp spring roll was watery, mushy, tasteless and I would be shocked if their was any lobster in it. We each ordered different types of fish, prepared in different ways and they both came out bland and appeared to have been prepared in exactly the same way. We thought they possibly had been sitting under a warmer or heat lamp?
As far as service, our waiter and other staff were very pleasant but appeared to be stretched thin with the amount of tables and number of guests to attend to. It took a very long time just to get glasses of water much less drinks. I requested an Old Fashioned and what I received seemed to be more of a large glass of straight whiskey with some fruit at the bottom. I hope that this was just an off night for them but I am not sure if we will visit Chart House again.
