Chart House Restaurant - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
As someone who has lived in Annapolis for over a year and enjoyed its dining scene, this Eastport gem was a delightful surprise! It's got a gorgeous interior, an extensive array of seafood and other dishes from which to choose, phenomenal views of the water, and a glorious wine list! The service was impeccable, and they've got a specific gluten-free menu available, with many appealing starters and entrees. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!
My wife and I and a couple went to the Chart House for dinner after the boat show and it was terrible. My wife got the rockfish and it was a skinny over cooked fillet. My friend and I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was still moving when it was served. We had to send it back because it was so rare and it was still too rare when they brought it back. My friends wife got the Mahi and she did like hers. The food is small portions and overpriced. I will say our server was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating but the food was just too bad especially considering the prices they are charging that I would never go back.
I dined with my family at the Chart House for dinner. The location is beautiful! The service was outstanding and attentive from the minute we sat down. Dinner wasn't rushed and the timing of our courses was perfect. The crab cake appetizer is delicious. It was prepared to perfection with a delicious lemon beurre blanc sauce. We'd come back just for the crab cake! Excellent fresh fish entrees. The red snapper was very good. Great salad bar. Excellent selection of wines. The homemade apple bourbon ice cream was an excellent finish to a wonderful meal. I highly recommend the Chart House in Annapolis. Five stars across the board for service, ambience, food, and value. We had a great evening.
Love the Chart House as its one of my favorites in Annapolis. I like the nice on line reservation. The only negative I have was we thought you could order happy hour in the main restaurant and was surprised that its only in the bar area. Which is first come first serve. But other then that, I give it an excellent in food taste, variety, specials like happy hour, staff, and environment.
Dissapponted by our 5th visit. Went 2 night's ago, early at 6 pm during Annapolis Boatshow. The cream of crab soup was very good. 3 in party had mediocre prime rib which was a smallish, thin cut described as rubbery. I had fish coated in a crust. The fish was dry and lukewarm. The coating was too thick and had no distinctive taste. Beurre blank sauce was only a tiny portion. 3 of us had creme brulee triple flight. Husband liked only 1 of 3. I liked all but too much food. 1 had excellent cheesecake. Orange margaritas great. Friend said 1 of her 2 cocktails was awful. Was not charged. Our 2 meals NOT worth $170. Carroll's Creek next night way better and less expensive. Go there.
Had not been since the renovation and found the new layout and decor very industrial and not very inviting. Lacking the ambiance of before. Also, very noisy. Two diners ordered stuffed flounder and the fish was mushy and the crabmeat filling had little taste. One diner had salmon with no complaints. One diner had chicken which was two very thin, dry chicken breasts. Would definitely not order again. The salad bar was the best part of the meal. Should have stuck to that, but at $19, and $9 with an entree it was worth it. The crab dip appetizer was good. The waiter, Sheldon, was very good. Personable and knowledgeable.
Overall it was acceptable, however, with many other choices in Annapolis, it will be a while before we return.
I was surprised to be able to get a table on a busy night after the boat show. We were seated near the water, a beautiful view. The bar end is pretty noisy, but it was fine near the windows. We ordered appetizers. The food was delicious and servings generous. One of the appetizers fell apart as it was set on the table (it was a stack) and the server just brushed it off. Not great presentation, but still delicious. I had a salad that included roasted cauliflower and broccoli. Lots of textures, tastes and just the right amount of dressing.
We couldn't eat dessert, but will be back to try. The selections were tempting.
We had a fantastic time after the sail boat show. Was relaxing & a very enjoyable evening after such a long day.
The scallops we had were scrumptious. Of course always enjoy your wide variety on the salad bar. Service was excellent he was very attentive. Thank you. Mr. Mrs. Mitulla
Was in town for the boat show and love the Chart House. Our visit was memorable. The view of the boats and lights across the harbor for the show was spectacular. The food was excellent as always and our server was attentive and thoughtful enough to provide a lava cake when he learned my brothers birthday was the next day. Our best meal while in town!
We came to celebrate a special occasion and were delighted that it was recognized. The service was exceptional and thoughtful and the food was of superior quality in every respect. And it was not as expensive as I expected, considering the high level of our experience.
They took such good care of us! We listed it as a Anniversary and they gave us the absolute best table in the house. The service was absolutely out of this world. We were served by Lexi who made honest and terrific suggestions. She was new too! We loved the restaurant and I greatly appreciate everything they did for me and my date!
Wonderful restaurant with great view. Background noise made conversation difficult, especially since my husband has considerable hearing loss . He has hearing aids and I have a little microphone that streams to his aids but this also magnifies background noise and so nothing was helping. Some booths would help.
The view of Annapolis Harbor cannot be beat. Steak, Seafood and Salad bar are great. The building has a wonderful history that has been a little overtaken by the modern decor. Service was exceptional and the wine list is extensive. Soups were exceptional but the New York Strip was typically good but not exceptional. Crab cakes are delish. You need to finish off dinner with the Hot Lava Cake. Ummmm
We have eaten at Chart House several times and it is usually reliable. This time however was terrible on several levels. We had a reservation and arrived on time. The host was friendly and began walking is to our table immediately. Halfway to the table a manager approached and spoke only to the host though we were standing right there telling him he could not seat is at the intended table by a window. The host, embarrassed apologized asking us to wait there (in the middle of the restaurant) and followed the manager. After a few minutes he returned and told us that we were going to have to wait for another table to open up because some "VIPs" needed to be moved to our table from where they were going to sit. We returned to the waiting room and waited another 20 minutes sort of irritated. No one but the host ever apologized. The manager walked by us several times not even acknowledging the rudeness of his action. We were finally seated at a table near the bar so it was loud. Two of us ordered steaks that were not cooked as ordered but my husbands tuna was actually good. Some friends who were also eating there came to our table and told us they were actually asked to moved after being seated to make room for the same VIP party because they were supposedly "on a tight time schedule". Incidentally those VIPs were still there when all of us left the place.
Subsequently we left there deciding not to return unless for some reason in the future we gain more VIP status because apparently regular customers are not important enough.
Food was great, but service, for how expensive it is, was terrible. We got seated at a table, but then had to wait 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge us, and that was only because I went to the server booth to let them know no one has even approached us with water or a menu. And, it wasn't even that busy.
We visited Annapolis for a special anniversary and sat at a table overlooking Spa Creek near the Naval Academy. We were married on the charter boat Providence on the creek in 1990. I ordered coconut shrimp and the presentation was outstanding inside a shell. I would definitely order that again. The restaurant offered us a free lava cake for our special occasion. I did not have the heart to tell them that I was allergic to chocolate. I was able to eat the vanilla ice cream on top. Thanks, Chart House.
AMAZING. We came for our second wedding anniversary and we were nothing short of amazed. The service was incredible the food was fantastic and the drinks were excellent! They went above and beyond to bring us an anniversary card, menus that say "happy anniversary" on them, and s complimentary dessert. We don't live in the area but if we return we will absolutely be back to the chart house for dinner.
I went here for a business meeting with clients from out of town, wonderful meal a little on the pricey side but worth it. Service was very professional and quiet , quiet service is a great compliment. Enjoyable to have conversation without being interrupted by servers or service.
