Although the weather, the waterfront location was amazing and the food was delicious! The small details of “Happy Birthday” on the menus and the complimentary dessert was a nice touch! I must say I enjoyed my birthday dinner!
The Charthouse has been consistently the "go to" place for special occasions and impressing guests. From the time we enter the restaurant to the time we leave, the staff has greeted us warmly, the servers are attentive yet unobtrusive, the meals themselves are well prepared and presented, and a complimentary mudpie is served for special occasions. It's a real treat for us to go out by ourselves or with guests and know that we will have a lovely evening and a good meal.
Food ok. Bathroom filthy. Staff unconcerned
Birthday Brunch was great!!
The salad bar, rolls and food is always fresh and delicious! I always order the stuffed flounder. I wonder where they get the rolls from. I'd like some for home. Especially the wheat rolls.
Server was very nice, would be there again would love to have the same server if possible.
Excellent experience attentive staff delicious food and dessert
I came at the recommendation of a friend to write a review for an article. There was an issue where I ordered an 18 oz Prime Rib, but when our food arrived it was a 10 oz. I questioned it and sent it back. The waiter agreed and they were going to cook another steak for me. Everyone else had their food and mine needed to be cooked. Nothing was compt'd for the inconvenience. Nothing offered. So, when they were finished eating, they had to wait for me.
For as much as the food costs, this was very disappointing.
Food was awful
It was great
The experience at the Annapolis Chart Hose was terrific. The location is on the water with great views of Downtown Annapolis and the US Naval Academy. The food was very good. Our server Erin was the best!
Everything was excellent.
Start at $27 +tip for a martini and a cosmopolitan, both of which required spoons because of their icy slushiness. Move on to a table by a gas fireplace (sounds nice) except that the fireplace cycles on and off every 20 minutes so that you go from sweating to freezing several times throughout dinner. The over-priced entrees ($38+) (swordfish for my wife and me) took nearly an hour to prepare, and were lukewarm at best. The "sides" amounted to little more than a few bites. We commented that our dinners almost resembled a frozen meal. In the hour leading up to the delivery of our meals, our waitress tried twice (unsuccessfully) to convince us to order the signature lava cake dessert as it "takes 30 minutes to bake" and she didn't want us to have to wait for it.
We have lived in Annapolis for 20 years and have always regarded the Chart House as having a nice view, but not being a place where locals would spend their money. As it has been quite a while since our last visit, we decided to give it another go. We won't make that mistake again.
Very nice restaurant. Outstanding service from the waiter. It was my wife's birthday. She loved it. You could tell that this was upscale restaurant - from the young hostesses to the waiter. We got a two seater table by the window and the ambiance was great. In addition, everything was reasonably priced.
We have eaten at Chart Houses from here to Hawaii and never ben disappointed until last Saturday evening in Annapolis. Service was fine except that the server seemed pretty high strung removing plates and accessories as fast as she could.
But I digress. The food was an absolute mediocrity. The snapper was not advertised as fried but it was and heavily in a VERY heavy casing. So it was dry, very dry. My spouse ate less than half. My tuna was hardly warm. It had been sliced and must have sat on a counter waiting the frying of the snapper because it started luke warm and finished cold. The accompanying rice on both dishes in different shapes was equally tasteless.
This was a rare Saturday night out for us and we were disappointed!
We truly had one of the best meals. The service was attentive and we are way too much food! We cannot wait to come back.
Service was terrific and ambiance is too. Food was only ok which is too bad considering the price. They were very accommodating of having a toddler in the restaurant and certainly made a point of wishing my mother a Happy Birthday (which is why we were there). Crab dip was a little greasy which is a shame in Annapolis because there are so many better options for that. Swordfish was a little overcooked and therefore dry. The view can't be beat and the service was terrific. Hope they work on the food quality.
The dinner at Chart House was very nice once we got inside. I made the reservation to celebrate my son’s birthday. The only disappointing thing was I made a 4:30pm reservation and after touring Annapolis in the cold we arrived 15 minutes early hoping to have a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. When we arrived the restaurant was not opened and did not opened until 4:45, 15 minutes later that our reservation. We had to stand outside waiting for nearly a half hour. It’s too bad The Chart House can’t opened 30 minutes before their first reservation for families who may end up arriving early. I’m sure most would be happy to have a cocktail and wait inside in the warmth or air conditioned building.
Food was excellent. Service was quick.
I require gluten free food due to celiac disease and Chart House had a specfic gluten sensitive menu. All went well. It was more expensive than I'd like dinner to be, but I prioritize the gluten free element over the cost.
We have celebrated our daughter’s 14th Birthday with my family I have a feeling we will return for my other daughter ‘s BD .. I had my milestone BD there the view is stunning it’s a Mini-Vacation it is all worth it.
Chart House is a wonderful restaurant. We have been eating here for seven years. Always a great meal, whether it is a quick bite for lunch, relaxing dinner or Sunday Brunch. Great place to bring out of town guests or celebrate a special occasion. Sometimes we stop in for an app and sit at the bar. Very friendly, professional staff.
We have been visiting the Chart House for 17 years now and it continues to be a first choice for special occasions and simply quiet dining. Food and service are both excellent.
We had a lovely Easter brunch - beautiful table by the water, our waiter Ben and his assistant staff were awesome. Food was great as always! Nice relaxed meal for my 90 year old day, my husband and ‘brother’
Pre Easter dinner Sat evening. Our waiter was exceptional. Attentive and yet unobtrusive, while still being personable. We had a lovely evening
My 2nd engagement at Chart House was as fantastic as the 1st!!! This restaurant is in our top 3 for the entire DC Metro!!
Our reservation was for 6 PM and were seated right on time. We asked for a window seat knowing that they could not make that request on lime. To our surprise, we were seated by a window facing the bay. Would go back in a heartbeat.
- drove an hour to try their oysters, we got there and were told they didn’t have oysters, but saw two other tables get oysters
- ordered prime rib, came out cold, tasted like roast beef fresh out of a fridge.
- server spoke to us maybe 3 times the entire dinner.
Outstanding service and attention. I was on a scooter b/c of a broken ankle and the staff continuously checked on me.
Pretty restaurant, but food was less than mediocre.
Ben was our server and was attentive but not overbearing. He made some great recommendations. I loved the rockfish with avocado. My family from out of town enjoyed their Maryland Crab cakes and cream of crab soup.
My husband and I have dined at Chart House Annapolis for several wedding anniversaries. This year's was most disappointing. Service was slow. We knew what we wanted to order but our server, Christian, refused to let us order our meal until we had a mouth full of appetizer. Then, I noticed some brown stuff at the bottom of the table cloth. The table linens were filthy at the bottom. Showed it to the server. Offered his apologies but that was all. Will have to reconsider for next year. Food was good but cannot get past the service and the dirty table linens.
Excellent meal and service
Have enjoyed this restaurant many times in the last 5 years and have found it to be consistently outstanding and enjoyed by all in attendance.
Service was exceptional. Food was ok sent mine back asked for medium and received well done next was medium rare and extremely tough prime rib. All other food was good
Excellent food menu and wine list. Wonderful ambience. We had an OpenTable reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived. Parking was limited; could be a challenge during the busy dinner hour --- we had an early dinner reservation on a week-end and parking was okay when we arrived, but by the time we finished our meal, the restaurant was full and parking on the reserved for Chart House patrons lot was all gone. Chart House's greeter, our hostess and our wait staff, and the chef were top notch. We were welcomed warmly and greeted with happy birthday wishes by everyone and were given a special keepsake dinner menu to take with us. The food was delicious...I had the apple cherry crisp which was amazing and my significant other had the molten chocolate lave cake which was out of this world. No question about it, we will go to Chart House again for any special occasion or just to go someplace fancy and high end just because.
We had drinks watching the sunset over the harbor. All three of us chose the snapper entree - delicious! Shared the decadent chocolate dessert - yum! Our server, Stacy was attentive and made sure our evening was enjoyed by all.
I had not been at the Chart House for a while and am glad I made the drive. Their Chopped Spinach Salad has always been a fave, and the single starter of a crabcake was a combination that was just right. Our waiter, Jay, was superb, water glasses filled at all times, very observant. Catching the sunset was delightful. My guest enjoyed the vegetable stack she had as well. Would recommend to anyone.
Our waiter Ben was excellent! Great food as usual, great ambiance and a great way to spend a big birthday celebration.
