Chart House Restaurant - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
The Chart House was amazing, once again. The wife and I had a cozy table right next to one of their fireplaces on a very cold night. Server was attentive and very friendly. There was a slight delay with our food and even though we never complained a bit, the manager and server both apologized profusely. Ultimately the manager compd are entire bill, again without a single complaint from us. They hold themselves to a high standard even when their customers don't mind a slight hickup. This shows the high level of service they expect to provide to every guest. We will definitely go back!
Unfortunately we had a dreadful dinner, the service was extremely poor from the start. We ordered cocktails and a beer. The beer bottle was placed on the table, no glass, no offer of a glass. We had to wait 1.5 hours for dinner to be served after ordering in a timely fashion. Once dinner was served is was apparent that the plates had been sitting for awhile. All 4 dinners were cool, the salmon was extremely dry and tough, with a few drops of the mustard sauce, the fingerling potatoes were hard and cold, they were difficult to cut with a knife, obviously they had been sitting for a while and re-heated many times. The rice on the other plates was cold. The rockfish special was also cold. A very expensive disappointing meal.
The venue, cocktails appetizers , and service were excellent! Couldn't ask for for more. The entrees (stuffed flounder and filet) were, unfortunately, mediocre in flavor. I will happily go there again but would make a meal of the Wicked Tuna appetizer and use that as the entree.
Unfortunately we were unable to eat at the chart house on New Year’s Eve. We reserved a table for 11:15, by 11:45 we were not seated, I understand that New Year’s eve is a busy day but why when I looked on OpenTable they still had open reservations available but were not able to seat us.
New Year's Eve at this Annapolis location was outstanding, given it's waterfront view for the fireworks show. There's likely some history to the venue, as I can recognize it's old bones as a former boat house. We had a reservation, but still waited over twenty-five minutes to be seated. Our server was outstanding, attentive, and not pushy on the up-sell for apps or deserts (some servers can suggest with the right tone, but most don't even try). Generally, our food was good, but all over Maryland, the crab cakes are much better than the ones I got. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and the experience, but I think Chart House charges more than they deserve. I'm not a regular patron, and probably never will be.
NYE at the Chart House was an excellent experience. All 4 of us enjoyed our entrees, drinks and desserts! Service by Anisa was spot on. She made our evening even more enjoyable. Party hats, noisemakers, midnight champagne and fireworks too! We will be back next year!!
I asked for no sauce on my crabcakes and the server acted like that would not be a problem but when I got my meal there was sauce on the crabcakes. I feel that it is the servers job to look at what was ordered and what is being served to make sure it is correct. There also was other mishaps with other food in my party. I feel like we could have gotten the same service and food for much less at another restaurant.
We always have our NYE Date at a Chart House. We were married in Laguna Beach and had our wedding reception at the Chart House in Dana Point, CA. We often go to Chart House restaurants when we travel. This year as usual the service and food was wonderful. We were disappointed with having to wait to be seated at our table until 8:30. Our reservation was for 8:00. The bar was very busy and the lobby seating was full with a busy walk in clientele. We were first told it would just be a couple minutes which was fine because we arrived five minutes early. I went to inquire about our seating at 8:15 and was then told it would anoth ten to fifteen minutes. We were finally seated at 8:30.
The Chart House was not my first choice! I tried to get a reservation at Carroll's Creek, but their reservations were filled. We were given a small table for 7 people. The table had a table cloth over it, so we did not see the condition of the table before we sat down. We realized as we sat down and were being served water that the table was wobbly and seriously sloping to one side. Apparently, this table was a 4 sided table with fold up sides to make it a round table. The fold-up sides were not stable and sloped down badly on one side. Therefore 4 customers had to be VERY careful when served beverages and plates filled with food, because you could easily wind up with your drinks and food in your lap. Fortunately, this did not happen. We mentioned the problem to the waiter and 'maitre d', and all they could say was, that a new table was on order and would be delivered at the end of the week. Our fare was $250.00, therefore we paid good money for inferior service and food. There were no apologies offered by anyone attached to the restaurant. I will NOT return to CHART HOUSE Annapolis.

my wife ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection I on the other hand had the stuffed flounder and it was undercooked. we were a little rushed I think because it was new years eve and they had a lot of reservations. also very pricey for what you get.
We were seated at an awesome table but our server was never present. She took 15 mins to great us and then barely checked on us the entire dinner. Also when it was time for the check we waited a long time. We didn’t have any appetizers and dinner took 2.5 hours. That seemed ridiculous!
We have been dinning at the Chart House in Annapolis for over 40 years. It's not the same Chart House of years ago. Two years ago I ordered the sirloin and crab cake. The crab cakes are not Maryland style and have a relish on top that is not to my liking. The cake has a lot of filler/breading to it that kinda reminded my of a croquette. This year I order the crab cake again thinking I shouldn't judge from just one try. The cake was the same and I did not finish it. The sirloin was very good. Also my wife tried the Ahi Tuna dinner which was very good. My friends often eat from the happy hour menu and ordered the prime rib sliders. They really enjoy the sliders. As always the view was beautiful and the service was very good. Just don't get the crab cakes they will disappoint if you are from Maryland.
It’s not what it used to be, but the food was very good. The service continues on its decline after the remodel. Apparently our waiter ran away before we saw him, but another appeared eventually and seemed eager to help. He was funny, and seemed like a genuinely nice guy, but it was obvious he was overwhelmed with the volume. We never heard the specials, which is disappointing for regular guests since we’ve had everything on the regular menu, weren’t even offered bread until after our food came and it was yet another waitress who offered that. Ali was amazing. She wasn’t our waitress, but she worked the floor like a champ and picked up the slack for the rest of the dining staff as much as she could. She gave us more attention than our actual waiter, asking if we would like bread when she noticed we didn’t have any, offering dessert while our waiter just brought the check. Again, great food and there’s hope in the service department (we’ll just ask for Ali next time).
Bar service and drinks were excellent. Happy hour food was good. When seated in restaurant, seating was in dark corner. Food was over cooked and over priced for what was served. Only bright spot was our fabulous waiter who shared his life experience coming here from El Salvador. Will do happy hour here again, but definitely not dinner in the restaurant.
Went Xmas night. All tables were by reservations. 7 pm they were out of filets and rockfish with crab meat. Had chopped salads, too wet with vinaigrette and I ate some, wanted a fresher salad. Hubby had strip steak instead of filet it was grisly and tasty though, cooked fine. I had lemon crusted salmon, too much sea salt, scraped it off. Fingerling potatoes were hot but over cooked. So did not eat them. Salmon was good beside the salt bath. Wine was fine. Our server Lina made our meal. A bit disappointed in the food and if you offer a limited menu, please have enough steaks.
