Chart House Restaurant - Alexandria Ratings and Reviews
The food seemed of fine quality, but everything was reported to be sort of bland. The 9 oz fillet wasn't 9 oz. For the crab cake recipe, the chef may want to visit Pappas in the MGM to see the real Maryland-style crab cakes. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, but again not well seasoned. Stuffed shrimp was ok. The fish dishes were best received.
Both of us had the cream of crab, Atlantic salmon with rice and roasted veggies, and key lime pie for dessert. Portions were generous for lunch --- in fact, we were sorry we hadn't split a single order of key lime pie. Our server was perfect. Attentive but not hovering. I absolutely loved my food, though it could have used a bit more spice and herbs. We had window seating, and the half-frozen river offered a rather exotic appearance. Looking forward to returning!
I went here with my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary and it was fabulous!!! They gave us menus dedicated for our anniversary and we were seated exactly where I asked in my note to the staff. Our waitress was wonderful and was very attentive while also giving us the perfect amount of space when we were deciding on our meals. Will definitely come here again. If you’re deciding on a special occasion diner definitely request the fire place room.
Went here to treat my boyfriend for part of his Christmas gift and he loved it! He also loves the water so he made sure to see the view from where he was sitting. I would say the prices are up there in price but the taste is great! I tried the crab dip which was pretty good & my boyfriend absolutely favored the oysters Rockefeller (I believe it’s called). He said he wished they were bottomless so he could just eat more & more lol. Altogether the food was very hot which is awesome & very glad he enjoyed the restaurant. 😊
Our waitress was amazing. But to start the male hostess came to the bar area to get us then went over to a young women sitting alone and started hitting on her and made us wait to take us to our table... not very professional. Clam chowder was amazing, cheese plate awful, calamari yummy.
The Chart House was interesting. The price point and the quality of the food were a little disappointing. I got the shrimp and scallops with corn and gnocchi. I guess I was not expecting canned corn, and the Candy Corn seem to be plentiful. Still, it was Christmas Day and I imagine that the staff was totally overworked. The Ambiance of the Chart House is very special. The service was fair. I just felt the food should have been a little better for the price point.
Chart House Alexandria was lovely. My family went for the first time for our annual Christmas dinner, and it did not disappoint. The scenic views, appetizers, specialty drinks, dinner, and atmosphere were amazing. Thank you for being a part of making our family Christmas dinner very special.
Chart House is a dependable staple in Old Town Alexandria with superb views of the Potomac River. The salad bar has a wide selection of items, including some you don't find in other restaurants, like caviar with fixins' and hearts of palm. Seafood selections are plentiful and presented in unusual and visually appealing ways. My crab legs (the most expensive item on the menu) had a wonderful flavor, although they were cooked a little too much which made them hard to crack open. The signature dessert, chocolate lava cake, was moist and quite delicious - worth the calories! Our server, Alyssa, was friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a good experience!
We were very disappointed in the prime rib . We had two orders and it was very mediocre.
The wait staff was excellent . The bathrooms needed servicing . Parking was convenient.
We would opt to try a different restaurant before coming back . The value was not
good for the amount we spent . The Bloody Mary was very weak .
The service is what makes this restaurant exceptional. Even when the staff had to work on Christmas, they were attentive and made us feel like we were the only customers in the room. The seafood was delicious, if a bit uninspired. No creative chefs here. But it was perfect for diners who want more traditional food.
I was there for a holiday dinner and it was delicious. From the salad bar, the caviar, anchovies and artichoke hearts are my favorites. The service from Molly was superb, she was helpful and her timing for serving courses was perfect.
The Ahi tuna was done exactly as I ordered.
Thanks to all for a wonderful dinner experience.
Went with family for Christmas Eve dinner, as we have a number of times in the past. Food good, but expensive, waiter was very attentive and good for a holiday rush. Food is fairly consistent from year to year.
Overall, nice for a special dinner for family gatherings.
