Although I’ve never eaten out on on Thanksgiving, ever, Thanksgiving dinner was terrific! Had the last available seating because I was picking up family at airport after traveling. Very nice ambiance and food was wonderful in the Alexandria Chart House location. No mess to clean up! Recommended!

We went to the Chart House for Thanksgiving Lunch. The food was very good, and perfectly traditional. The view was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. It was a perfect setting for a special meal.

We ate at Chart House for a birthday dinner the night before Thanksgiving. Delicious. Had a table overlooking Potomac with views of National Harbor, all the light across the river, airplanes flying by into Reagan Airport - great viewing. We all had seafood - red snapper, sea bass, stuffed flounder and everyone was happy.

Stuffed flounder was very good. A bit small, though.
Our waiter, Chris, was fantastic... we'll be asking for him next time.

We made reservations for a birthday. Although we indicated the special occasion in the reservation, the restaurant ignored it. There were a lot of parties in the restaurant on that day and we asked to move to a quieter table. This request was quickly accommodated. The Baked Crab Dip appetizer was good. My mother-in-law and I got the Farmer's Market Salad and neither of us would recommend it. My husband and his mother got the Cream of Crab Soup and they said it was too thick and filling. The Thai, Shrimp and Coconut soup was spicy and tasty. For the three of us, with no entrées, the total was nearly $100. Not a good value. I will try Chart House again for happy hour, but not for a meal.

The service an atmosphere is fantastic. Took the wife there on a date night. Our waiter Eric was very attentive and polite. Unfortunately for me that was it. Food service was quick but when I received my order it was cold. I was quickly served a new plate though but the taste to me was just average. My wife did enjoy her meal and she thought the food was very good. When I received the cheque, I noticed that I was charged twice for my meal and had to have one removed. To me personally, though the place is beautiful and has great service and ambience, it was not worth the price of the meal. Food was served basically warm and was average tasting to me. I will not be going back there.

The service and staff were very accommodating. I asked for a window table and was given one. The food was very good except for the calamari which was drenched in a sauce that made it soggy. This was not in the description. Other than that the food was very good.

My wife and I enjoyed our Anniversary meal at the Chart House and had a terrific time. Service was very good(Moses was his name) he let us enjoy our food and didn't feel rushed. Salad bar was fresh, my wife had the salmon and I had flounder stuffed with crab. Everything was very good and would certainly recommend to others.

It was the perfect dining location and place of our company's offsite dinner event. We had folks come from all over the east coast to the DC area for our offsite. This was the first time we were able to get everyone together under one roof and I wanted the dinner to be a special event. The Chart House met that goal. Our hostess, Victoria, was awesome and very attentive to our large party's needs. Thank you for a great evening.

We had an EXCELLENT waiter. We had some special dietary concerns and our waiter checked thoroughly with the kitchen to be sure that our meal met our needs. thank you!
Our only issue was the poor lighting. At our ages, we couldn't read the menu without a flashlight.

The Sunday Brunch choices were not prepared well. The Blackened Prime Rib were not cooked at the temperature requested; basically overcooked. The Crab Cakes were dry and overcooked.

Sorry, I wouldn’t recommend for brunch.

I have never left a review for a restaurant before but we are still upset about the meal we had on Saturday night. I've been going to the Chart House in Annapolis for atleast 20 years. When Landry's purchased them I think things changed a bit but I still wanted to give them a shot. We wanted a nice night out so I thought trying this location out would be nice. Originally I ordered one of their cocktails, I did not like the cocktail and I let the waitress know and she graciously took it off our bill. No problem at all. I then asked for a classic daiquiri. For a semi fine dining restaurant I assumed that the bartender would know what it was seeing as though it was a classic cocktail. They brought me a frozen daiquiri. At this point, I moved on. We also ordered a bottle of wine. We poured our own wine and my water was not refilled at any point in the evening. We ordered oysters rockefellar and they were pretty subpar. They weren't browned and just kind of ok. They lacked the texture that one should get from oysters rockefellar. The timing was off in the execution of our food. They brought out our meals very shortly after our appetizers and never cleared the plates just leaving us with a very crowded table. My husband had the stuffed rockfish and we couldnt taste the crab. It was just very ok but for the money we paid it was upsetting. You do get a beautiful location but we left upset that we spent the money on such a mediocre at best meal. I have such wonderful memories of the Chart House so this was a major disappointment.

I have been coming to this location to celebrate special occasions for many years.
This time I did not have a great experience as I expected. Restaurant did not have prime rib even though it is their signature dish and it was Saturday evening. Tenderloin was way overcooked, without taste and dry. Appetizers and my wife's stuffed shrimp were very good. Another disappointment was slow service even though the restaurant was not that busy. Drinks were so diluted that no alcohol could be tasted. That a real shame since they cost 12 dollars each.

Arrived a little early so we could request a window seat. Our request was granted and we had an amazing view of the river and surrounding boats. Our waiter Moses was wonderful. He answered our questions and checked back with us through out the evening to see if we needed anything. The prime rib was a perfect medium rare and the King Salmon was probably the best I have ever had. And absolute must is the chocolate molten lava cake so save room.

Food is solid, but not extraordinary. The ambience is the attraction here. Nice views of the Potomac and river boats/taxis doing their thing. Best views are looking south. It's seafood fare with a little ecclectic twist on some dishes, but I wouldn't go so far to say it's a good venue for "foodies". Service was exceptional. Jessie was our waiter.

This was our first visit and based on its top position in Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. Parking on the street in Old Town Alexandria can be a problem but we were able to find a spot and walk to the waterfront. Our party of 5 was welcomed and assigned to a table one row in from the window overlooking the Potomac just before dusk. We just about managed to order a bottle of Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon. Nothing wrong with the wine - very smooth - but it was a major challenge choosing it and our food because the daylight was fading fast and the managers don't believe in wasting electricity. Indeed, throughout most of our meals, we could hardly see because the ceiling lights were dimmed so low. Apparently, this is an ongoing problem that previously customers have commented on, according to our server, but to date ignored by management.

Anyway, with the aid of an iPhone light we managed to choose our dishes. I had the ahi with a gently spiced topping. Really excellent, rarely cooked, as requested. My wife had the crunchy coconut shrimp. Others, the shrimp fresca, prime rib and the salmon with a herb-crusted topping. All were very good. We finished off with another bottle of Hess and excellent key line pie.

Great service by Andres and a very ambient setting. Not cheap ($85 a head with service and tax) but good value. We will certainly return on the basis of this experience – but next time, I guess we should take a few flashlights, or maybe a hurricane lamp.
