Waiter was a little slow but overall a wonderful experience as always
We decided to finally try this place after outing it off for several months. Great service from Mark!!! My sister and her family were in town and we enjoyed ourselves. However, it did seem as though some of the food sat a while before being brought to us. The drinks from the bar were decent as well. I enjoyed my Salmon Rockefeller, but my wife said he Indian shrimp and scallops lacked any seasoning. My sister had some overcooked stuffed shrimp. I don’t want to bash the place because it could’ve just been an off night. We will visit again in the next month or so. Our server was courteous, professional and timely.. definitely deserving of his tip.
I love seafood. I almost never get god seafood anymore. I had the blackened mahi with the shrimp on top with the rice and vegetables. I lived in Louisiana two years. I finally fund a place here with a chef that knows the difference n blackened and burnt. Perfect! I don’t lie rice. Their rice was delicious! Ate it all! I also monthly drive 2 hours to get here to meet friends for dinner. They never rush us to eat and leave. It’s a great place!
Nice scenic view of the river enabled us to enjoy our delicious Sunday brunch in a relaxed atmosphere.
Great meal and view. The service started slow getting drinks and appetizers, but came up to speed for the entree and dessert.
It was the perfect place to watch the Holiday Decorated/festive lighted Boat Parade on the Potomac. Warm and friendly atmosphere, good food and service.
Have been there a number of times and not around the holidays and always an enjoyable place to dine.
This is our 4th time dinning at Chart House and 1st time at the Virginia location. The Restaurant is always pleasant and the service is 5 stars. Love Chart House.
Chart House has always been one of my favorite restaurant but tonight was extra special. I've just moved to Alexandria. This was my first birthday away from family and friends and my server Andres and the other employees of Chart House were very warm, and welcoming. They view overlooking the Potomac River watching boaters decorating their boats were cool to watch. Overall, my birthday was extra special and I appreciate everything. Thank you! 🥰
Jose was great
The food and cocktails were good. Our waiter did not have a friendly disposition, however.
Okay so, my family and I went out to brunch and decided on chart house. We remembered how amazing it was a while back and decided to indulge in our deja vu. But much to our disappointment, this place isn’t what it used to be. My mother ordered the same dish I did; the tenderloin Benedict. When the food got to our table it looked good, but when my mother cut into her steak, it was literally RAW. I mean it looked like it was still mooing, as if the meat just barely touched the grill. We touched the center of it and it was COLD. How does that even happen??? The manager didn’t even comp our meal, they just took the plate my mom ordered off the bill. My brother’s food and mine were ok, but nothing too special. I’m never coming back.
Great food, service and fair billing for same.
A lovey luncheon for my mother-in-law's birthday. She was greeted with a special "birthday menu" and a card signed by all the staff, which thrilled her. Service was cheerful and attentive; good food and plenty of it. Loved seeing all the family groups there for Sunday brunch. Very nice!
Everything was great, and I appreciated the steps taken to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff signed a card and many folks wished her a happy birthday. Nice touch, made the experience even more special.
Dined with my sister after Thanksgiving... our meal was fine but on the expensive side and portions were small. The view was nice... on the water.. so all in all a good experience and I would definitely recommend it. We noticed as we left the turret room with a fireplace and wished we had been offered seating in there as the place was not crowded.
Great food, great service!! A beautiful view We would go back
View is very nice. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Food was good but ultimately not memorable. There are better seafood options on king street but they don’t have as nice a view.
Fantastic Thanksgiving feast, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, spinach, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and chocolate lava cake, and a St. Michaelle bottle of Chardonnay all over a romantic setting with a waterfront table view of the Potomac at night, perfect!
The best restaurant to book for special occasions when families are coming from out to town and short on time to prepare a big feast. Nice view, awesome food and selections and great pricing.
The manager made up for the food being not cooked properly
We went for Thanksgiving and it was very busy. Luckily, we had made reservations in advance. Still, we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Once seated, they gave us a nice table by the window in the octagon room with the fire pit. That was nice. The menu wasn’t just the normal Thanksgiving fare. You could order some of the things off of their regular menu, like seafood, steak and prime rib. I ordered the prime rib and my friend ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For $31 the traditional dinner was a good deal as you got turkey with all the trimmings as well as your choice of pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert. Our server was very pleasant but again, it was crowded so he was very busy. All in all, it was a nice way to spend Thanksgiving since my friend and I both live far away from family. I also like the decor in the restaurant. Very nice and nautical and modern, especially compared to some of the older Charthouses with all of the dark wood. The view was nice. During the day you can see across to National Harbor. At night, you can see the Capitol Wheel all lit up.
The Thanksgiving dinner was awful. The turkey was sliced like at a deli, the stuffing was cold and tasteless. Chart House can do better. A diner has better food at a fraction of the cost. Very disappointing for a holiday meal.
Food was great and staff was fabulous and our waiters shawn was Awesome!!😊😊
For a busy Thanksgiving, the service from Zach was outstanding. The food was delicious, ample and served at a great pace. Lovely ambiance and excellent holiday celebration.
Would recommend for seafood, but not special traditional events. Food is mediocre and bland at Thanksgiving -assume it would be the same for other events. However, would certainly recommend for other routine occasions.
Best table and wait service in more than 15 years attendance at Thanksgiving.
Great food , love the salad bar and king crab is my fav . Thanksgiving dinner looked amazing and mom was very happy . My steak was perfect . Great table by the window looking over beautiful views of the water and festive boats all lid up for Christmas.
Love the glass ball chandlers .
We had a lovely table but the food was mediocre. I had the traditional Thanksgiving meal which looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for a while. My husband had prime rib was, he said, ok. We ordered a second cup of coffee to have with our desserts but had no cream and when the waitress came back to the table the coffee was cold.
We had a lovely table. The food was excellent, and the wait staff was friendly and prompt. It made for a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.
Chart House Alexandria never fails- service and food are out of this world. The staff and management couldn’t have been nicer - management visited our table twice in the hour in a half we were there and the staff was very pleasant as always. The thanksgiving menus select keeps us coming back year after year as it’s a stress free way to enjoy a delicious meal.
We had a great time for Thanksgiving and my mom’s birthday. They even made a special menu for her.
Two of us went for Thanksgiving. One had the traditional turkey dinner while the other had salmon. Both were very good, service was good, the view of the water is nice. We didn't wait long for our meal either considering it was a holiday. Nicely done.
Thanksgiving was a fantastic experience for my family -- thank you for meeting our reservation request for the upper deck dining area and window seating for six. Our waitress Kalli and front office staff we very accommodating and made the Chart House visit very enjoyable and memorable.
For a Thanksgiving meal the price was right! We can always count on excellent service here and love the view! The kitchen should know that the turkey was piled high with dark meat and one thin slice of white, and everything needed a bit more gravy. Our Jack Russell was the very enthusiastic beneficiary of the dark meat! The pecan pie hit the spot with an excellent cup of coffee!
Excellent food and service. We invited out-of-town guests to dinner at the Chart House, as it is one of our favorite restaurants in Old Town. We were all very pleased with the absolutely delicious food that we enjoyed. Two of us ordered swordfish, one ordered sauteed, the other grilled - both very tasty. King Salmon and baked, stuffed shrimp rounded out our main meals - again both expertly prepared and very tasty. Service was excellent.
The food and service was very good. The chocolate lava cake was an A+.
Entertaining international visitors. Seated at scheduled reservation time with water view. Service timely and friendly. Three dishes. All very enjoyable. Convenient to water taxi to National Harbor. All in all a very good evening.
A wonderful atmosphere for a date with hubby!
Everything was perfect with the slight exception of the autumn swordfish—it didn’t seem to have flavor without the toppings. Al, our server, was top-notch!
Great food and amazing service e
