The grilled halibut, coconut rice and asparagus are delicious. Always topped off with a shared hot lava cake. Scrumptious
I had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp and the meal was delicious.
We had a lovely brunch for Father’s Day. Well worth the $27 for an entree & salad/fruit bar. We had a great time & my Dad was happy.
It was dockside and perfect ambiance to celebrate Father's Day. The waiter was very attentive.
I love the Chart House. The brunch was great. However it says "Crispy Bacon" on the menu and that it was not. There was more gristle than meat. Other than that it was great.
Dinner was great. We were seated in the lighthouse area by a window. Gorgeous views.
We had a great dinner and a lovely waitress. Only reason we gave 4 stars for service is because we had a reservation and gad to wait about 20 minutes to be seated.
Food and service was amazing as always! We got a table by the window/water which was great! It was my husband’s birthday and he loves to sit by the water. So plus for them making that possible!
Father’s Day Lunch
Waitress was excellent! She took great care of us and was personable. Love the added touch to the menu. My husbands 60th Birthday!! Looking forward to dining with you again!
I travel throughout the United States every week, so dining is very important to me. The Chart House has become our favorite restaurant. They do it all. Great cuisine, great ambiance, impeccable service!
We have visited numerous Chart House restaurants across the States. We love the atmosphere of this particular one in Alexandria, however the quality of the food has definitely gone down. There were banana peels and spilled ice on the floor that countless servers and managers walked past but never bothered to pick up along the way. Our server was ok but easily less than professional. Overall, the experience did not parallel the cost!
Fantastic place for a date night. The views are great, the food is great, and the drinks are very tasty.
Everything was outstanding.
Underwhelming. If their food quality matched the lovely views, this place would be amazing. Dish presentation and taste both need a major upgrade. Server was very nice, attentive and efficient.
Our server (forgot her name unfortunately!) was excellent, as was the food. The server overheard that we were celebrating my birthday and brought dessert, even though I hadn't wanted to celebrate it or get dessert. The lava cake was too good to pass up and we gobbled it up. The view was beautiful - of the Potomac, bridge and ferris wheel across the way.
We made reservations but had to wait 10 min past our reservation time (not too bad, but not great). The host was on the rude side and I was tempted to leave because of his demeanor. The booth was very long for 4 people so that 2 of us were seated nearly 6 feet from each other.
Even with the seating we had a beautiful view and despite the initial interaction with the rude host, we had a great time and would recommend this venue.
It really took over 55 minutes for us to get our appetizers and 65 minutes to get our lunch. It was an unfortunate delay.
We went there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed! The staff left a signed Happy Anniversary card on our table and gave us a complimentary dessert. The food was absolutely outstanding- probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had!!
Great food. Lovely ambience, excellent service. A perfect place to catch up with good friends.
Our favorite restaurant for lunch, diner and special occasions. This was an anniversary celebration and the restaurant took special note of the occasion, providing a beautiful window-side table and top notch service. Menu selections were broad enough to satisfy our appetite leanings for the evening and the food was served in an appealing fashion and "hot off the grill."
Went for graduation lunch and they handed my daughter a graduation card which was a nice touch.
Had the crab cake and coconut shrimp which was delicious. Crab cake was huge and not much filler and the shrimp was excellent. Service was okay. Went at 1:30 on a Monday so it wasn't crowded.
Celebrated all our kids’ birthdays and we sat next to a window overlooking the water!
From what I used to remember of Chart House's service (5 or so years ago), and food quality/quantity it has dramatically been reduced and the price value dramatically increased. I had asked for window seating and the hostess put us in a table in the back, when there were several available by the window with the better view. Even though our appointment was for 6 PM, we had to wait for the adjustments and changes for another 10-15 min. The food was either super salty or bland, and the quantity/quality of the food was something that I could've made myself from the grocery store at way cheaper. Overpriced, and lack of quality was what my family and visiting relatives received from our visit, and unfortunately I will never attend nor recommend this place to anyone.
When I lived in DC I came here for special occasions. Was not so impressed returning. The fish food options for me and my kids was better in Atlanta where we had just visited. It was also a disappointment for me and the kids when we saw the dessert menu and the molten lava cake was a half and hour wait and the waiter never mentioned/asked if we wanted one. An average meal at best with a nice water view.
Great place. Reservation was ready and checked in on time. Food was great. View outstanding. I asked that if possible I get table by window because we were celebrating anniversary. We not only got table by window but Hostess gave us a special anniversary menu thanking us for celebrating with them as well as a card signed by every member of staff. Nice Touch.
We celebrated my husband's birthday here. I let them know ahead of time through the Open Table reservation and they went all out! We had a beautiful Table with a great view, a birthday card signed by staff, personalized menus that said "Happy Birthday", and a dessert to share. They made the meal very memorable, not to mention the food is out of this world!
This place is really only worth it if you get window seating. The service is very slow, as this is a really busy and popular tourist spot. Our server came around as often as she could, I think, but the restaurant overall seems kind of understaffed. I'm not sure how the tables are distributed amongst the servers but I think it needs to be more efficiently reconfigured to allow for guests to be promptly attended to; about an hour of our two hours there was just spent on waiting for the server to come back to refill our drinks, give us our check, and give our card back to us. I'm sure their wait time wouldn't be as bad if they had enough servers to get guests out promptly. I heard a lot of tables near us complaining about not having seen their server in a while. The view was beautiful. The food was ok, nothing you couldn't find at a regular Great American restaurant. The premium price you pay is really for the waterfront view.
A Fun Bunch best pick for a group of friends/colleagues. We wanted something near the water and in the middle of our homes. Chart House Restaurant was our choice and the day couldn't have been better. The sun was shining, the wind a gentle breeze and the water in the background. We had a few minutes wait for the table but we took the time to peruse the menu. Our server Dora as simply AMAZING and she took good care of us from the start. THANK YOU for inputting my special request for plain white rice instead of the coconut ginger rice that came with the meal. Everyone was satisfied at the end of the meal to the point of not wanting dessert. Definitely will return again and if Dora is on duty we will be asking for her.
Service was as extremely slow but we were sitting outside on the deck with nowhere else to go so it wasn’t any trouble... this time.
Great restaurant and service. Food was delicious and we will definitely be back.
The server was nice but the food was not brought out so that our group of 4 could eat everything together. One dessert was brought to one person before the others were asked what they wanted. Coffee was ordered and it did not arrive until the desserts were finished.
Great restaurant and everyone there talked about how great the food was and they were right. I had the prime rib and it was butter soft. I melted in my mouth and I would definitely order it again.
A bit pricey but the ambiance and food was quite good. Service was so-so as we had to wait for water refills and the wine we first ordered came late. All and all a memorable experience for a special occasion, and isn't that what it is all about:-)?
Celebrated a 38th birthday.
Excellent food and service.
Beautiful view of the Potomac
Table was not ready at time of reservation. The service was poor the waitress barely came to check on us. The salad bar was out of many of the toppings. The Halibut was overpriced and tasted as it had been previously frozen. Prime rib was over cooked and under seasoned. Will not be returning! The view of the water was great!
It was my grandmother’s 88th birthday and she was so happy! Thank you for the birthday card and special touch on the menu.
Second year of goin for my birthday. Food was awesome.
Excellent dining experience. I always try to enjoy a meal here when in the DC area.
My wife and I spent our anniversary dinner at the Chart House. Absolutely great! A fantastic welcome card with Happy Anniversary in it signed by the team. Our waiter was superb, he just did a great job. We are on the Keto diet (low carbs), our waiter was very helpful in this regard.
Overall delighted! This is our 2nd time in 10 years for our anniversary dinner, I won’t wait so long next time. Thank you.
Good food, not cheap, great location, good service, take reservations!
