   We went as a couple for our 6th anniversary. We were the only ones there for lunch on a Sunday at 1:30pm. No one else came during the almost 2 hours we were seated. The room is big and comfy, but rather sedate and drab - lacked any charm or pizazz...part of a country club, so somewhat expected. There was trash on the floor near our table and garbage outside the window looking out on the golf course; we were seated next to that window. The wait staff were very friendly, accommodating, and willing to converse about both the menu and themselves. They were also open to feedback. I ordered steak tartare as an appetizer; I consider it to be an excellent measure of a chef's expertise. This version disappointed. Too much filler, not enough meat; the mustard sauce and chopped pickles overwhelmed. The filet mignon main and hangar steak dishes were outstanding; highly recommend either. Wine was good, mixed drinks were below average in quality and taste. We skipped dessert, so no comment there. Overall, been to better, prettier, more well appointed steakhouses in Lakewood, wouldn't run back.

   I was forced to give a 20% tip but I would’ve preferred to have given between 15 and 20%.

    The food is excellent and the presentation beautiful. Service is excellent. This restaurant has come a long way and is now one of the best.
