Charlie was a sinner.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Small plates perfect for two or solo dining.
this is my second time in Charlie was a sinner, this time, I felt that both brussels sprouts and cauliflower steak were undercooked (almost raw). Everything else was outstanding.
Service was exceptional. And food is wonderful. Highly recommend
It is definitely an experience. I went for VRW and choose the prefix menu. I guess most of the courses are not what I would have chose had I ordered off the menu. It is pricey and small plates. I would stick with the Happy hour menu.
The menu and cocktails was great. The theme and atmosphere was very nice.
Great food, great service. The meatballs are the bomb!
The food was great and filling. My husband usually doesn't like to go to Vegan restaurants since he usually leaves hungry or is hungry 30 min later. The plates were filling and more than a few bites.
The Gnoochi were overcooked & crab sliders had a very strange squishy texture. I am a vegan & love vegan however Charlie was a sinner is very overpriced for the quality. This dining experience definitely did not meet my expectations.
The food is amazing. Good size portions. We absolutely loved it.
Great food and ambiance. Drinks were very creative. I appreciated the attention I received from the manager/owner who greeted us and made sure we were taken care of. The food was plentiful and very tasty and it was reflected in the cost. Highly recommended!
I was seeking a nice place to take myself out for dinner and drinks before a concert. When travelling alone, it can sometimes be hard to find a place you feel comfortable eating among couples and groups; Charlie was a sinner. was a great experience overall. I had no idea the restaurant was vegan, and everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The staff was courteous and attentive and made me feel at home. I would love to come back with friends and family!
I'm glad it was tapas style because some of the food was very good and some average. The suggestion of 3 plates per person was a good suggestion by the staff. The eggplant bao buns were good, the gnocci was good, the korean tofu was great, the cauliflower steak was blah, the fried artichoke was ok. I would have like to see hummus, the cauliflower steak cooked more and not just a hunk of vegetable. I'll go back. My recommendation... try it.
Charlie was a sinner. has become my new favorite restaurant. I’m vegan and am always looking for new and interesting dining experiences that fit my dietary needs and this restaurant fits the bill. The food was amazing and I’m looking forward to going back to try more items off the menu. My sister joined me and she isn’t vegan but I think she enjoyed it more than me. They had her at raspberry creme brûlée. I can’t wait to go back and would recommend this place to both vegan and non-vegan alike.
Charlie wasn’t just a dinner, he was also a disappointment. Food was mediocre and service was spotty. Took for ever to get drinks. Second round of drinks came out 5 minutes after we finished our last small plate. Our waiter asked if we wanted desert or were just going to drink our desert. We ordered the chocolate mint milkshake which also disappointed. Will stick to Vedge next time we want vegan.
An amazing place. Food was spectacular, service was great. Just a really nice place for a vegan meal and great food, and I’m not even vegan!
We love Charlie’s! Great vegan food and it looks like Omni’s love it too!
We enjoyed this restaurant very much....it’s definitely the most delicious vegan restaurant I have ever had thus far....the food is light and healthy versus utilizing a great deal of seasoning and oils as others do...
Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the cocktail and dinner menus. Each dish was better than the last. The potato croquettes and the bucatini with meatballs were standouts. The Done and Dusted is the best espresso martini I’ve ever had and one of my favorite cocktails in the city. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The servers were very helpful and attentive. Food was really good, but a little overpriced. Cocktails were very tasty, though the ones I ordered were a little on the sweeter side than we expected. Overall a very nice experience.
Music is far too loud to have an enjoyable conversation at dinner.
The food here and mixed drinks are unbelievable. It isn’t cheap, though. Expect to spend $100 on a date. The ambiance is amazing, though it can be crowded. It was warm when we were there—they had it open to the street so that was a bit uncomfortable, but that was the only downside.
The cuisine is decent, but the service was hurried -- and the noise unbearable. We won't come back.
Met my friend here for dinner. Noise level was almost unbearable. (It was Friday during restaurant week). Tables are small and close together, could barely hear the server standing 2 feet away. My friend and I had hoped to talk, but it was almost impossible. When we left, she said she felt like she had been to a concert. That said, service was very good, great recommendations for cocktails from our server. One partially spilled when they set it down, and without us asking, they immediately brought another. Food very good, does not taste “vegan”.
I’d return, but for lunch, or a quieter weeknight.
Really good food and yummy drinks. Had been wanting to go there. Sat at high top which is never the most comfortable especially if you have a purse though.
Fantastic - great service, very knowledgeable staff and amazing cocktails! Out of the box vegan menu that was delicious.
Hands down the BEST vegan food I have had!!! I wish we were closer, we would be there all the time!!!
Nice decoration, too dark, noise level way too loud
We (2 omnivores who happen to love vegetables and tofu) had just gone to Vedge so maybe it’s unfair to compare that with our dinner here. But hey if they’re going to do vegan in a city with excellent vegan food then be prepared for judgement. The first courses were definitely the best. The zucchini “crab cake” was the best thing we had. With each advancing course it became more and more obvious you’re eating meat substitutes. Lack of meat/dairy was compensated by deep frying almost everything, which gets old fast. The pasta was also over-cooked. In the case of dessert the compensation was way too much sugar. It was also so loud that our server could barely hear our orders. Definitely won’t be going back any time soon.
Wonderful vegan experience. Knowledgeable staff. Tasty, beautiful food! Highly recommend the gnocchi and the ‘Beautiful Disaster’ cocktail. Our server was passionate and dutiful. Loved the ambiance. Go!
We were in from out of town for a show. Enjoyed the dinner so much we came back after the show for drinks. I'm a chef who travels a bit on my time off and was thoroughly impressed! I've always loved the small plates concept as it gives me a chance to try multiple dishes.
Excellent job by all. I rarely eat at the same place twice but will return the next time I'm in the area.
Delicious vegan food, pleasant surprise but it is noisy and tables racked on top of each other almost and the waiter doesn’t really make an effort to have you hear him. But will come back for the delicious food!!!
This is one of our favorite spots in the city and it did not disappoint! Cocktails are always on point and love the creative dishes they offer!
Nice restaurant - vegetarian fare. Lots of tasty small plate options. Only drawback was tight quarters and small tables - hard to fit all the dishes we ordered!
Every single bite of food is so incredibly delicious that words couldn’t possibly begin to describe.
Definitely relatively pricey but well worth it. Extremely good vegan food and hip atmosphere.
It was a night of a show at the Forrest Theater, so very busy. I definitely love to go back when more time to relax more and not have to rush. Food & drinks were great!
This is some of the best food I've had anywhere in the city. Each dish is something to savor. The drinks are always perfect, too.
Great food and service! Ambiance is lively, fun, and loud.
Fantastic experience. Delicious food and drinks as well as great ambiance.
The mocktails were over-priced and I wish that the restaurant didnt use cheaper quality ingredients (for example, Beyond Meat) as the base for their meatballs. I wish it was bean, mushroom, or rice/quinoa based. It would taste alot better then the prices would match the quality of the food. I like their winter menu better than summer.
