pleasant surprise!! the steak was cooked to perfection and not greasy at all. perfectly seasoned too. the creamed spinach was very good and also not swimming in grease.
i will definitely be back and will recommend to my friends and family
We had a truly delightful experience, with extremely friendly/solicitous service and splendid food. The evening was absolutely perfect.
We did the Theater Pre-Fix and it was perfect. The food was really good and came out hot and fresh. Service was a little slow.
Took forever and a day for food and drinks. This was towards the end of the night so not sure why it took over 20 minutes for a sprite and a martini. Didn’t plan on spending two and a half hours to eat dinner but we did
Un restaurante muy tradicional, servicio esmerado, los steaks muy bien, la cava muy completa con muchos opciones, los precios un poco elevados para el tipo de lugar. Digamos que cumple.
Beautiful restaurant. Friendly staff and good service. Prix fix menu is a great value. Food is delicious. Desserts are massive. Enjoyed very much!
My first time here since they changed over from Aureole. A few familiar faces are still there. My party of four had a great experience.
Great food, great service in the heart of the theater district. A top choice and a reasonably priced prix fix menu. The room still looks nice although it could be refreshed and the wine list is always interesting
Great food and service. We celebrate our anniversary and they surprise us with a candle in our desert.
Very wonderful restaurant. Quality food & service. Made my wedding engagement very special!
Great meal and service
Requiring a credit card to make a reservation for a room that had 3 tables occupied was unwelcoming.
First time there and loved it. It will make us drive to the location in DC.
The food quality was great, fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is not for a younger crowd.
We had a super dining experience. The service was great. Happy to be able to dine out finally:)
Love the former Aureole environment. Great steak. Don’t miss Desert. The crime brûlée is the best anywhere in the world.
I was very impressed. The space is very nice - the prior Aureole space on W. 42nd St - and the food was excellent, the wine list amazing, and the service attentive and appropriate.
The old Aureloe - so gorgeous! Great menu - even for those who don't eat red meat! Chicken and fish options! Can't wait to go back and order steak! Caesar said - Terrific! Barrata and heirloom tomatoes - Fabulous! Lobster great! They have a pre-theater prix fix for $45 (3 courses) a bargain. Can't wait for the theater to open! Congratulations to Charlie Palmer.
Beginning with a wonderful loaf of popover-like bread that was instantly devoured, the $45 prix fixe dinner proved a great bargain. A friend and I both started with the New York Bibb Salad, which was exquisite--one of the best salads we've ever had. For our main course, we each had steak frites--succulent sirloin cooked to order in a flavorful au poivre sauce with fries that were hearty if a tad oversalted. A side of grilled asparagus made an excellent accompaniment. The chocolate cake that ended the meal was the sole disappointment; it was no better than what you'd get in a cafeteria. The service was excellent, and I'd go back for the salad alone.
Excellence. Delicious. Impressed.
Excellent service and ambiance... servers were very nice. Food was good.
Not impressed with this restaurant
Overall 5 stars. We truly enjoyed the staff, ambience, good. Location and price! Will be back for sure!
Everything was great. The food the service and the place
very small.menu, food was not very good. Meat got.cold fast as per the QC.
Fine dining is finally back! This is not suit and tie dining but the food is good and the service is better. Well worth it!
New York City is fortunate that is has more than its share of excellent steak houses. It can add the Charlie Palmer Steak House to this list.
Amazing experience. Unbelievable prices for the quality and service you receive.
The entire dining experience was first rate. Excellent and efficient service, comfortable and attractive space and excellent food and wine. Between the two of us we had the Caesar salad, halibut, steak frites and creme brûlée. All were delicious, prepared to order and portions were generous. Will definitely return.
Great service and food
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service excellent food would definitely go back. I’m going to tell all my friends how great of a night I had.
Such a beautiful space. And the food was delicious
The steak for two was undercooked and extremely tough.
Food was amazing and service was excellent. Will definitely return back in the future.
I would give them a few more weeks to work the kinks out before going here. The steaks were amazing but everything else was average at best
Will be a wonderful place!
Dined here on the opening of Charlie Palmer Steak at the former Aureole site near Bryant park. The restaurant is brighter and more inviting. Because of COVID, the tables are spaced further apart than they were. What was the Liberty Room now flows into the smaller dining room.
The CP Steak menu is typical of most steakhouses in NYC. The appetizer & starter section features a seafood tower, oysters, shrimp cocktail and Russian Caviar, Tuna tartare & French Onion Soup, as well as a selection of salads. I had the 1/2 dz raw oysters with cocktail & mignonette sauces, they were plump, a little briny and very tasty. . The main course menu section features a $45 3course menu with a choice of 3apps, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. The steak section has Porter House for 2, filets, bone in tomahawk steak, & steak frites, featuring filet mignon. etc. There is a non steak entree section & a seafood section. I opted for the sautéed whole Dover sole with a caper meunière sauce. This dish is presented whole, then filleted for you by your server. The sole was expertly cooked and every mouthful delicious. I had the grilled asparagus bearnaise, which complimented the sole. I selected the carrot cake dessert from the well rounded dessert menu, which includes a cheese plate. The cake was fluffy and moist and not too sweet. Service is quick, friendly and efficient. I miss Aureole, but will return to CPS as often as I can. I understand that Aureole may open in a new location within the year.
A very nice meal, quality ingredients well executed in a classically trained kitchen. No real surprises but we were not looking for any. The restaurant had a nostalgic vibe...the decor seems dated but not tired, I think it has been at this location for a while, perhaps 30 years? The night we dined was not busy and we were seated in a secluded section of the back dining area, away from the other diners...apparently there are two "rooms" but on OT there is no distinction on where you are reserving. We were presented with the "pre-show" menu but luckily we had looked online and knew that there was a regular menu where we could find the pre-fixe dinner menu we were excited about. (Perhaps the wait staff initially sized us up and downgraded our menus...but I won't take offense where it was not intended...) The highlight of the restaurant is their wine list, in particular the offering of L'Ouverature 1er Cru Champagne by Savart...a gem in plain site (a favorite of mine but rarely see on menus) that the wine server was not aware of but was pleasantly surprised to try...a perfect balance of fruit, savory and acidity...I would dine here again just for this Champagne!!!
Reasonable portions, good service and food
The hostess was friendly and helpful when we entered and left that evening. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. We had drinks at the bar and the bartender was very nice and quick to making our drinks. We had the branzino and chicken which both were delicious. The chocolate peanut butter dessert and the strawberry and white chocolate dessert were amazing! Definitely will be going back! Highly recommend Aureole.
