Charlie Palmer Steak Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Thirteen of us were seated on our own, not among other diners. This worked out just fine for us. Our entire table ordered off the Cut of the Week menu. Everything was great. I’m not a foodie—I’m more into people. It was easy and flawlessly executed. We all were able to make it to our show reservation at the Mandalay Bay without issue
Sadly I was hoping for better for the price. Maybe because it was a Tuesday the service and food was not worth the 400 + bill (only 3 cocktails no wine in this price) Asked for medium rare steaks and both of us got medium well. The sides were plain and the only thing we like was oysters and lobster bisque. Will stick with hugos or golden steer.
Really enjoyed this meal! We both had the “cut of the week” which is a weekday pre fix special menu which included salad, entree, 2 sides, dessert, AND bottomless wine. The food was prepared perfectly-especially the filet-& the wine was very good. The sommelier described (& kept topping off!) the Pinot Grigio & the Merlot that they were pouring on this evening. Overall very lovely ambience and super relaxing. Great service without feeling rushed! And just a quick stumble back up to our room at Mandalay Bay. Can’t ask for much more! Highly recommend!
My Turkey from the Thanksgiving menu was room temperature. No excuse at this price level. Sent it back and it came back the same. Gave up. Really an unfortunate thing that ruined an otherwise good experience. overall very pricey. Dinner for 6 people cost just under $1000 (yes that's $1k).
Book the Thanksgiving prefix. It was very busy and the service team was good but not as attentive as when I have visited on a non holiday. The food was good and the wine pairing was well matched. Too much food, wish I would of had a place to take home leftovers. all in all a good value for Las vegas.
After reading great reviews, this was our first time at Charlie Palmer and it certainly will not be our last.
The Thanksgiving dinner and wine was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised with the three course steak dinner and wine pairing. Service was impeccable, in a very comfortable and friendly ambiance.
We also appreciated being seated prior to our reservation time.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner here. The pricing was a bit confusing: OpenTable initally said the fixed holiday menu was $65, the Charlie Palmer website said $70, and when we arrive at the restaurant, it was $75. At any rate, we got to choose from about five different starters, five entrées, and three desserts. Although it was a three-course meal, I was worried it wouldn’t be enough food. I was so wrong! The first courses weren’t huge (I got the scallops, which were cooked perfectly and went perfectly with the farro and squash purée), but the entrées were of good size AND came with 3 family-style sides. My mom and I both got the turkey dinner, which included sliced turkey breast, an osso buco-type stuffed turkey neck (I think?), stuffing, and cranberry sauce. The turkey was juicy—not dry at all. My husband got the filet mignon; that came with a potato purée and was delicious, as well. Sides included the most amazing roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet potato purée, and mashed potatoes. They were also very generous with the bread. The desserts were just the right size: not too small to make you feel cheated, but not so big that you couldn’t eat it all. We also each got the “wine pairing,” which was really just one red wine and one white wine. Both wines were good, but the value there was the fact that your glass(es) would be refilled throughout the evening. In terms of ambiance, we were put into a room right off of one of the main dining areas. I suppose we were given a table in there for privacy/intimacy, as we had made reservations specifically for a holiday dinner. However, there was a door right behind our table that must have lead to the kitchen; we could hear everything that was going on in there. It wasn’t horrible, but it was a bit annoying initially, since we were only people in the room and the noise from the kitchen was the only ambient sound we could hear. The service was excellent. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back.
The 6 of us went there for Thanksgiving dinner. The service was not good, had to keep asking for refills of bread; I was not asked if I wanted a second cocktail, my father was not offered a 2nd cup of coffee. The food was pretty awful. The stuffing had the oddest flavor, that none of us recognized, and did not like. My lobster bisque was luke-warm. The Caesar salad was very tasteless.
The family side portions consisted of plenty of burnt Brussels sprouts, tasteless puréed potatoes, the gravy was bland and not very warm, the scallops were burnt on one side, raw on the other. My husband paid an extra $15 on top of the $75 three course set menu price, for a portion of lobster tail, a very minute size; and a tiny filet, about 4 ounces, compared to the 8 oz. portion that was suppose to come with the meal.
The server was clueless. Every time we asked a question about the menu , she said I don’t know. She had to walk away to find out the answer.
All in all, not a good dining experience. Very dissapointing.
We are glad we gave this restaurant a second chance. Had their "cut of the week", which included a petite ribeye, mashed pumpkin, kale, desert, and all-you-can-drink wine. while everything was great, I was amazed by the kale; I'm not sure how it was prepared, but it melted in my mouth.
Everything excellent! Edgar the Sommelier, is awesome! Raymond is a great server! Food as always...above expectations! Saw on Julia Child's show that Chef Palmer is a real person! Been celebrating anniversaries and birthdays here for over a decade. Fly in from Albuq. NM and dining here is always in the plan! Happy tummy happy life!
Very delicious steaks and very friendly staff!! We got there about 30 min late from our reservation but they still happily sat us down with 10 minutes til the kitchen closed. They treated us great considering we were thr last customers to go in before closing.
Food was good. The room was so hot however we were all miserable and the manager was rude. Unfortunate because the rest of the staff was pleasant. You could even see the Staff tense up when interacting with her. Not sure I’d spend that kind of money again for the overall experience.
Where do I begin!? From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, it was a magical experience. The staff received us with glee and seated us promptly even though we were early for our reservation. This evening was a special event and we opted for the Cut of the Week. I will visit this restaurant again and again, always selecting the Cut of the Week! Our table of 4 dined on a petite ribeye accompanied by sweet and sour parsnips, a green salad, and a mashed potato of some sort, maybe garlic. We were happily given bottomless pours of delicious white and red wine by the sweetest man, Edgar. He helped make my friend's 30th birthday A Night to Remember! They even surprised her with a beautiful happy birthday dessert! I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the experience from start to finish. And the price was only $58 per person. Save yourself many hours of research trying to find the best budget-friendly steakhouse experience with atmosphere in Las Vegas and just reserve a table here! Cheers!
Our waitress seems to be working on a catering instead of a classy restaurant. We still working on our food and they kept asking if they could clean up our plates - this happened many times. We all felt they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. Disappointing. In other note, the food was really good.
The worst high priced meal I have ever experienced. The steaks were tough. The knife was dull. The service was bad. Terribly understaffed. The desert was the only bright spot. I have had dinner at a majority of the fine steak houses in Las Vegas. This is one that I will not revisit.
